The purpose of this study was to apply the deep running method to real estate price index predicting and to compare it with the time series analysis method to test the possibility of its application to real estate market forecasting. Various real estate price indices were predicted using the DNN (deep neural networks) and LSTM (long short term memory networks) models, both of which draw on the deep learning method, and the ARIMA (autoregressive integrated moving average) model, which is based on the time seies analysis method. The results of the study showed the following. First, the predictive power of the deep learning method is superior to that of the time series analysis method. Second, among the deep learning models, the predictability of the DNN model is slightly superior to that of the LSTM model. Third, the deep learning method and the ARIMA model are the least reliable tools for predicting the housing sales prices index among the real estate price indices. Drawing on the deep learning method, it is hoped that this study will help enhance the accuracy in predicting the real estate market dynamics.

This study developed a real-time spacecraft pose estimation algorithm that combined a deep learning model and the least-squares method. Pose estimation in space is crucial for automatic rendezvous docking and inter-spacecraft communication. Owing to the difficulty in training deep learning models in space, we showed that actual experimental results could be predicted through software simulations on the ground. We integrated deep learning with nonlinear least squares (NLS) to predict the pose from a single spacecraft image in real time. We constructed a virtual environment capable of mass-producing synthetic images to train a deep learning model. This study proposed a method for training a deep learning model using pure synthetic images. Further, a visual-based real-time estimation system suitable for use in a flight testbed was constructed. Consequently, it was verified that the hardware experimental results could be predicted from software simulations with the same environment and relative distance. This study showed that a deep learning model trained using only synthetic images can be sufficiently applied to real images. Thus, this study proposed a real-time pose estimation software for automatic docking and demonstrated that the method constructed with only synthetic data was applicable in space.

The purpose of this study is to develop a deep learning based learning system for improving learner's data analytical thinking ability. The contents of the study are as follows. First, deep learning was applied to the discovery learning model to improve data analytical thinking ability. This is a learning method that can generate a model showing the relationship of given data by using the deep learning method, then apply the model to new data to obtain the result. Second, we developed a deep learning based system for DBD learning model. Specifically, we developed a system to generate a model of data using the deep learning method and to apply this model. The research of deep learning based learning system will be a new approach to improve learner's data analytical thinking ability in future society where data becomes more important.

Recently, there have been many studies on machine learning. Among them, studies on reinforcement learning are actively worked. In this study, we propose a controller to control bicycle using DDPG (Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient) algorithm which is the latest deep reinforcement learning method. In this paper, we redefine the compensation function of bicycle dynamics and neural network to learn agents. When using the proposed method for data learning and control, it is possible to perform the function of not allowing the bicycle to fall over and reach the further given destination unlike the existing method. For the performance evaluation, we have experimented that the proposed algorithm works in various environments such as fixed speed, random, target point, and not determined. Finally, as a result, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithm shows better performance than the conventional neural network algorithms NAF and PPO.

While deep neural networks have achieved remarkable performance in representation learning, a huge amount of labeled training data are usually required by supervised deep models such as convolutional neural networks. In this paper, we propose a new representation learning method, namely generative adversarial networks (GAN) based bagging deep convolutional autoencoders (GAN-BDCAE), which can map data to diverse hierarchical representations in an unsupervised fashion. To boost the size of training data, to train deep model and to aggregate diverse learning machines are the three principal avenues towards increasing the capabilities of representation learning of neural networks. We focus on combining those three techniques. To this aim, we adopt GAN for realistic unlabeled sample generation and bagging deep convolutional autoencoders (BDCAE) for robust feature learning. The proposed method improves the discriminative ability of learned feature embedding for solving subsequent pattern recognition problems. We evaluate our approach on three standard benchmarks and demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method compared to traditional unsupervised learning methods.

The goal of deep learning is to extract complex features from multidimensional data use the features to create models that connect input and output. Deep learning is a process of learning nonlinear features and functions from complex data, and the user data that is employed to train deep learning models has become the focus of privacy concerns. Companies that collect user's sensitive personal information, such as users' images and voices, own this data for indefinite period of times. Users cannot delete their personal information, and they cannot limit the purposes for which the data is used. The study has designed a deep learning method that employs privacy protection technology that uses distributed collaborative learning so that multiple participants can use neural network models collaboratively without sharing the input datasets. To prevent direct leaks of personal information, participants are not shown the training datasets during the model training process, unlike traditional deep learning so that the personal information in the data can be protected. The study used a method that can selectively share subsets via an optimization algorithm that is based on modified distributed stochastic gradient descent, and the result showed that it was possible to learn with improved learning accuracy while protecting personal information.
This paper proposes a method to improve the performance of face recognition via super-resolution method using sparse representation and deep learning from low-resolution facial images. Recently, there have been many researches on ultra-high-resolution images using deep learning techniques, but studies are still under way in real-time face recognition. In this paper, we combine the sparse representation and deep learning to generate super-resolution images to improve the performance of face recognition. We have also improved the processing speed by designing in parallel structure when applying sparse representation. Finally, experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to conventional methods on various images.

In recent years, the application of deep learning method to computer vision has shown to achieve great performances. Thus, many research projects have also applied deep learning technology to railroad defect detection. In this paper, we have reviewed the researches that applied computer vision based deep learning method to railroad defect detection and inspection, and have discussed the current trend and the direction of those researches. Many research projects were targeted to operate automatically without visual inspection of human and to work in real-time. Therefore, methods to speed up the computation were also investigated. The reduction of the number of learning parameters was considered important to improve computation efficiency. In addition to computation speed issue, the problem of annotation was also discussed in some research projects. To alleviate the problem of time consuming annotation, some kinds of automatic segmentation of the railroad defect or self-supervised methods have been suggested.

Objective: To provide an automatic method for segmentation and diameter measurement of type B aortic dissection (TBAD). Materials and Methods: Aortic computed tomography angiographic images from 139 patients with TBAD were consecutively collected. We implemented a deep learning method based on a three-dimensional (3D) deep convolutional neural (CNN) network, which realizes automatic segmentation and measurement of the entire aorta (EA), true lumen (TL), and false lumen (FL). The accuracy, stability, and measurement time were compared between deep learning and manual methods. The intra- and inter-observer reproducibility of the manual method was also evaluated. Results: The mean dice coefficient scores were 0.958, 0.961, and 0.932 for EA, TL, and FL, respectively. There was a linear relationship between the reference standard and measurement by the manual and deep learning method (r = 0.964 and 0.991, respectively). The average measurement error of the deep learning method was less than that of the manual method (EA, 1.64% vs. 4.13%; TL, 2.46% vs. 11.67%; FL, 2.50% vs. 8.02%). Bland-Altman plots revealed that the deviations of the diameters between the deep learning method and the reference standard were -0.042 mm (-3.412 to 3.330 mm), -0.376 mm (-3.328 to 2.577 mm), and 0.026 mm (-3.040 to 3.092 mm) for EA, TL, and FL, respectively. For the manual method, the corresponding deviations were -0.166 mm (-1.419 to 1.086 mm), -0.050 mm (-0.970 to 1.070 mm), and -0.085 mm (-1.010 to 0.084 mm). Intra- and inter-observer differences were found in measurements with the manual method, but not with the deep learning method. The measurement time with the deep learning method was markedly shorter than with the manual method (21.7 ± 1.1 vs. 82.5 ± 16.1 minutes, p < 0.001). Conclusion: The performance of efficient segmentation and diameter measurement of TBADs based on the 3D deep CNN was both accurate and stable. This method is promising for evaluating aortic morphology automatically and alleviating the workload of radiologists in the near future.
