A method to evaluate and to reduce the source- and receiver- consistent noise in a cross-well travel time data was proposed. These systematic noises, which can cause some serious effects on the result of a travel time tomography, can be considered as the source and receiver statics. The method evaluates the statics through a curve-fitting of the first arrival travel times in the common source and common receiver gathers. Feasibility study was conducted on a synthetic data which simulates the cross-well travel time tomography to detect a small scale tunnel in a uniform background medium. First arrival travel times at a given source and receiver points are computed by a raytracing method, and the source consistent- and receiver consistent noises are added to the record. In case of the added noise with rms amounting to 25% of the maximum expected anomalous travel time delays, it is confirmed that the method successfully extracted the noise at the 7th step of iteration.
Analysis Ready Data (ARD) for optical satellite images represents a pre-processed product by applying spectral characteristics and viewing parameters for each sensor. The atmospheric correction is one of the fundamental and complicated topics, which helps to produce Top-of-Atmosphere (TOA) and Top-of-Canopy (TOC) reflectance from multi-spectral image sets. Most remote sensing software provides algorithms or processing schemes dedicated to those corrections of the Landsat-8 OLI sensors. Furthermore, Google Earth Engine (GEE), provides direct access to Landsat reflectance products, USGS-based ARD (USGS-ARD), on the cloud environment. We implemented the Orfeo ToolBox (OTB) atmospheric correction extension, an open-source remote sensing software for manipulating and analyzing high-resolution satellite images. This is the first tool because OTB has not provided calibration modules for any Landsat sensors. Using this extension software, we conducted the absolute atmospheric correction on the Landsat-8 OLI images of Railroad Valley, United States (RVUS) to validate their reflectance products using reflectance data sets of RVUS in the RadCalNet portal. The results showed that the reflectance products using the OTB extension for Landsat revealed a difference by less than 5% compared to RadCalNet RVUS data. In addition, we performed a comparative analysis with reflectance products obtained from other open-source tools such as a QGIS semi-automatic classification plugin and SAGA, besides USGS-ARD products. The reflectance products by the OTB extension showed a high consistency to those of USGS-ARD within the acceptable level in the measurement data range of the RadCalNet RVUS, compared to those of the other two open-source tools. In this study, the verification of the atmospheric calibration processor in OTB extension was carried out, and it proved the application possibility for other satellite sensors in the Compact Advanced Satellite (CAS)-500 or new optical satellites.
In an industrial field, non-destructive testing (NDT) is commonly used to inspect industrial products. Among NDT methods using radiation sources, X-ray laminography has several advantages, such as high depth resolution and low computational costs. Moreover, an X-ray laminography system with stationary source array and compact detector is able to reduce mechanical motion artifacts and improve inspection efficiency. However, this system, called stationary inverse-geometry X-ray laminography (s-IGXL), causes truncation artifacts in reconstructed images due to limited fields-of-view (FOVs). In this study, we proposed a projection data correction (PDC) method to reduce the truncation artifacts arisen in s-IGXL images, and the performance of the proposed method was evaluated with the different number of focal spots in terms of quantitative accuracy. Comparing with conventional techniques, the PDC method showed superior performance in reducing truncation artifacts and improved the quantitative accuracy of s-IGXL images for all the number of focal spots. In conclusion, the PDC method can improve the accuracy of s-IGXL images and allow precise NDT measurements.

In this paper, we investigate the tradeoff between security and reliability for a multi-hop protocol in cluster-based underlay cognitive radio networks. In the proposed protocol, a secondary source communicates with a secondary destination via the multi-hop relay method in the presence of a secondary eavesdropper. To enhance system performance under the joint impact of interference constraint required by multiple primary users and hardware impairments, the best relay node is selected at each hop to relay the source data to the destination. Moreover, the destination is equipped with multiple antennas and employs a selection combining (SC) technique to combine the received data. We derive closed-form expressions of the intercept probability (IP) for the eavesdropping links and the outage probability (OP) for the data links over a Rayleigh fading channel. Finally, the correction of our derivations is verified by Monte-Carlo simulations.
This study is for the software implementation to generate atmospheric and surface reflectance products from RapidEye satellite imagery. The software is an extension based on Orfeo Toolbox (OTB) and an open-source remote sensing software including calibration modules which use an absolute atmospheric correction algorithm. In order to verify the performance of the program, the accuracy of the product was validated by a test image on the Radiometric Calibration Network (RadCalNet) site. In addition, the accuracy of the surface reflectance product generated from the KOMPSAT-3A image, the surface reflectance of Landsat Analysis Ready Data (ARD) of the same site, and near acquisition date were compared with RapidEye-based one. At the same time, a comparative study was carried out with the processing results using QUick Atmospheric Correction (QUAC) and Fast Line-of-sight Atmospheric Analysis of Spectral Hypercubes (FLAASH) tool supported by a commercial tool for the same image. Similar to the KOMPSAT-3A-based surface reflectance product, the results obtained from RapidEye Extension showed accuracy of agreement level within 5%, compared with RadCalNet data. They also showed better accuracy in all band images than the results using QUAC or FLAASH tool. As the importance of the Red-Edge band in agriculture, forests, and the environment applications is being emphasized, it is expected that the utilization of the surface reflectance products of RapidEye images produced using this program will also increase.

In general, the verification to prediction formula in a national road and the main street of a town has been used recklessly in Korea. Therefore we investigated the validity of an existing prediction formula (NIER(87, 99), TR-Noise, KLC(2002)) with correction relationship which was based on both the prediction formular from apartment complex in the field and height 1.5m from the surface level. On the results of measuring the noise level form an isolated distance, the noise level showed that it was 4.5~5.5dB(A) by reason of becoming 2 folder far from a source. From the distribution of noise level measured by the apartment floors, the measurement point (1st floor) was 58.7~71.4dB(A) at its lowest level and the middle floors (3, 5, 7 and 10) were the highest distribution of noise level. From the analysis results on the application validity to an existing prediction formular (NIER(87, 99), TR-Noise, KLC(2002)) in the height 1.5m, the correction coefficients were 0.95~0.96 and the measured values were reasonably close to the predicted values, indicating the validity and adequacy of the predicted models. KLC(2002) model was found accurate within 3dB(A) with 36 data out of the total 42 data, showing the most accuracy among the predict models. However, the developed models have to improve the accuracy with a various of factors.
For a rail traffic noise, a typical source has a length of 200m - 400m so that the noise pollution areas have been located in the transition regions where the sound level drops between 3dB/dd and 6dB/dd. Therefore, in this region, parameters such as a horizontal distance from the track, the geometry of the ground surface, the environmental effect, and the boundary impedance condition play import roles, especially in our nation's situation. In this study, modelling techniques for the finite length of noise source have been investigated in order to evaluate the rail traffic noise level. Then. noise correction value .${\Delta}$SPL for various location in the track region is represented by the non-dimensionalized horizontal and parallel distance from the track. As an application, a high speed train is examined. Beas on the noise data measured for a Eurostar in France, the sound power value per unit length $H_1$is calcuated. It turns out that$H_1$is 109 dB. Overall sound power from the highspeed train to be serviced in our country is expected to 135 dBA.

A simplified view of array design and application process was introduced. Array design is critical to achieve a successful phased array measurements. A planar microphone array is designed to produce optimum performance and also to fit economic requirement in integrating data acquisition system. Certain performance characteristics are of primary concern when designing arrays. These characteristics include array resolution, spatial aliasing and array sidelobe suppression. Every array has its directional pattern that shows such characteristics. Assuming that a monopole source is located in center, beam-patterns have been simulated varying measurement conditions such as number of sensors. array aperture size, distance between array and source, frequency of interest and so on. Sensor correction was conducted on very channel using magnitudes and phased of FRF with respect to a reference microphone channel. Then with a spiral type array, measurements have been made with two point sources of same frequency in order to investigate array resolving abilities. It is observed that higher frequency source achieves better resolution than lower one does.

In this paper, the channel decoder promising reliable data retrieving in noisy holographic channel has been developed for holographic WORM(write once read many) system. It covers various DSP(digital signal processing) blocks, such as align mark detector, adaptive channel equalizer, modulation decoder and ECC(error correction code) decoder. The specific schemes of DSP are designed to reduce the effect of noises in holographic WORM(H-WORM) system, particularly in prototype of DAEWOO electronics(DEPROTO). For real time data retrieving, the channel decoder is redesigned for FPGA(field programmable gate array) based hardware, where DSP blocks calculate in parallel sense with memory buffers between blocks and controllers for driving peripherals of FPGA. As an input source of the experiments, MPEG2 TS(transport stream) data was used and recorded to DEPROTO system. During retrieving, the CCD(charge coupled device), capturing device of DEPROTO, detects retrieved images and transmits signals of them to the FPGA of hardware channel decoder. Finally, the output data stream of the channel decoder was transferred to the MPEG decoding board for monitoring video signals. The experimental results showed the error corrected BER(bit error rate) of less than $10^{-9}$, from the raw BER of DEPROTO, about $10^{-3}$. With the developed hardware channel decoder, the real-time video demonstration was possible during the experiments. The operating clock of the FPGA was 60 MHz, of which speed was capable of decoding up to 120 mega channel bits per sec.

In the satellite camera, the incoming light source is converted to electronic analog signals by the electronic component for example CCD (Charge Coupled Device) detectors. The analog signals are amplified, biased and converted into digital signals (pixel data stream) in the video processor (A/Ds). The outputs of the A/Ds are digitally multiplexed and driven out using differential line drivers (two pairs of wires) for cross strap requirement. The MSC (Multi-Spectral Camera) in the KOMPSAT-2 which is a LEO spacecraft will be used to generate observation imagery data in two main channels. The MSC is to obtain data for high-resolution images by converting incoming light from the earth into digital stream of pixel data. The video data outputs are then MUXd, converted to 8 bit bytes, serialized and transmitted to the NUC (Non-Uniformity Correction) module by the Hotlink data transmitter. In this paper, the video data streams, the video data format, and the image data processing routine for satellite camera are described in terms of satellite camera control hardware. The advanced satellite with very high resolution requires faster and more complex image data chain than this algorithm. So, the effective change of the used image data chain and the fast video data transmission method are discussed in this paper
