  • Information obtained from DFD(Data Flow Diagram) are very important in system maintenance, because most legacy systems are analyzed using DFD in structured analysis. In our thesis, we design and implement an extractor for design sequence of database tables using DFD. Our extractor gets DFDs as input data, transform them into a directed graph, and extract design sequence of DB tables. We show practicality of our extractor by applying it to a s/w system in operation.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an extractor to improve the effective ingredient of propolis. In order to improve the performance of conventional alcohol extraction at room temperature, a striking-type extractor used with a sprayed mist (alcohols, 95% alcohol) was developed for use at $40^{\circ}C$. Extraction of the effective ingredient of propolis was tested, and the resulting material was analyzed using a device. The extraction test of the mist spraying method indicated that the level of flavonoid was 1.56%, which is 1.5 times the 1.04% shown in existing data from a conventional stirred extractor. In addition, the extraction time can be reduced by half and the cost reduced by about 12.7% per year. It is confirmed that the extractor developed with a sprayed mist (alcohols, 95% alcohol) appears effective at the low temperature.

  • In this paper, we present a spatial knowledge extractor implemented in Hadoop MapReduce parallel, distributed computing environment. From a large spatial dataset, this knowledge extractor automatically derives a qualitative spatial knowledge base, which consists of both topological and directional relations on pairs of two spatial objects. By using R-tree index and range queries over a distributed spatial data file on HDFS, the MapReduce-enabled spatial knowledge extractor, MRSPAKE, can produce a web-scale spatial knowledge base in highly efficient way. In experiments with the well-known open spatial dataset, Open Street Map (OSM), the proposed web-scale spatial knowledge extractor, MRSPAKE, showed high performance and scalability.

  • Fuzzy extractor is a biometric encryption that generates keys from biometric data where input values are not always the same due to the noisy data, and performs authentication securely without exposing biometric information. However, if a user registers biometric data on multiple servers, various attacks on helper data which is a public information used to extract keys during the authentication process of the fuzzy extractor can expose the keys. Therefore many studies have been conducted on reusable fuzzy extractors that are secure to register biometric data of the same person on multiple servers. But as the key length increases, the studies presented so far have gradually increased the number of key recovery processes, making it inefficient and difficult to utilize in security systems. In this paper, we design an efficient and reusable fuzzy extractor based on LWE with the same or similar number of times of the authentication process even if the key length is increased, and show that the proposed algorithm is reusably-secure defined by Apon et al.[5].

  • This study presents the findings of the experiments that were conducted on single- and multi-stage solvent extractors using the stimulus-response method, with the am of identifying flow characteristics of the material inside the mixer-settler-type extractor. The results of this study show that the response characteristics of a single-stage mixer is the same as that of a completely stirred tank reactor (CSTR), and that the lag time of a mixer-settler-type extractor increases with the number of its extraction stages. The experimental data for the single- and multiple-stage extractors were analyzed using K-RTD, a response analysis program, to obtain a retention time distribution (RTD) model of one-stage and four-stage extractors. The correlation coefficient between the calculated values and the experimental data was 0.963 for the one-stage extractor and 0.995 for the four-stage extractor, showing quite a good correlation.

  • This paper proposes a circuit extractor which extracts a netlist from the CIF input file cntaining the layout mask artwork informations. The circuit extractor extracts transistors and their interconnections, and calculates circuit parameter such as parasitic resistance and parasitic capacitance from the mask informations. When calculating the parasitic resistance, we consider the current flow path to reduce the errors caused by the resistance approximation. Similarly, we consider the coupling capacitance which has an effect on the circuit characteristics, when the parasitic capacitances are calculated. Therefore, using these parameter values as an input to circuit simulation, the circuit characteristics such as delay time can be estimated accurately. The presented circuit extraction algorithm uses a multiple storage quad tree as a data sturucture for storing and searching the 2-dimensional geometric data of mask artwork. Also, the proposed algorithm is technologically independent to work across a wide range of MOS technologies without any change in the algorihm.

  • This study introduces a robust feature detector for sonar data from a general fixed-type of sonar ring. The detector is composed of a data association filter and a feature extractor. The data association filter removes false returns provided frequently from sonar sensors, and classifies set of data from various objects and robot positions into a group in which all the data are from the same object. The feature extractor calculates the geometries of the feature for the group. We show the possibility of extracting circle feature as well as a line and a point features. The proposed method was applied to a real home environment with a real robot.

  • This paper suggests the method of the spherical signature description of 3D point clouds taken from the laser range scanner on the ground vehicle. Based on the spherical signature description of each point, the extractor of significant environmental features is learned by the Deep Belief Nets for the urban structure classification. Arbitrary point among the 3D point cloud can represents its signature in its sky surface by using several neighborhood points. The unit spherical surface centered on that point can be considered to accumulate the evidence of each angular tessellation. According to a kind of point area such as wall, ground, tree, car, and so on, the results of spherical signature description look so different each other. These data can be applied into the Deep Belief Nets, which is one of the Deep Neural Networks, for learning the environmental feature extractor. With this learned feature extractor, 3D points can be classified due to its urban structures well. Experimental results prove that the proposed method based on the spherical signature description and the Deep Belief Nets is suitable for the mobile robots in terms of the classification accuracy.
