The purpose of this research was to compare the preference of tone on tone coloration of traditional Korean dress by Korean and American women college students. The respondents were asked to evaluate 48 stimuli of the traditional Korean skirt and jacket with different tone of color. It could be supposed that the different evaluation were caused by their different cultural backgrounds. The results of research can be summarized as follows. As to the red colors, Korean students preferred vivid and light tone coloration, and disliked dull and dark tone coloration, the same tone coloration. but American students preferred usually the same tone coloration and preferred coloration of 4 tone skirts and vivid jacket, dull and dark tone coloration. As to the yellow colors, Korean students preferred dull and dark tone coloration and disliked the same tone coloration. American students preferred vivid and light tone coloration and disliked dull tone coloration as dull jacket and skirt. As to the green colors, Korean students preferred dull and dark tone coloration and disliked the same tone coloration. American students preferred dull and dark tone coloration and preferred the same tone coloration.

The purpose of this research was to compare the evaluation of tone on tone coloration of traditional Korean dress by Korean and American women college students. The respondents were asked to evaluate 48 stimuli of the traditional Korean skirt and jacket with different tone of color. The evaluation of Korean and American students admit of various interpretation, and it can'be said that they were caused by their different cultural bacgrounds. The results of reseach can be summerized as follows. As to the red colors, Korean students evaluated vivid skirt and light or dark jacket, light skirt and vivid or dull, dark jacket, dull skirt and light jacket as harmonized. But American students judged light skirt and dull and light jacket as not harmonized. As to the yellow colors, both Korean and American students had common opinions that light skirt and dull jacket are well harmonized. Korean students thought vivid skirt and dull jacket, light skirt and dull, dark jacket, dull skirt and dark jacket are well harmonized. American students thought light skirt and vivid, light, dull jacket dull skirt and light jacket are well harmonnized. As to the green colors, Korean students evaluated vivid skirt and dull, dark jacket, light skirt and vivid, dull, dark jacket are well harmonized. But American students evaluated vivid skirt and light jacket, light skirt and dark jacket, dark skirt and vivid or light jacket are not harmonized. Among 48 stimuli of tone on tone coloration, Korean students evaluated 18 set and American students judged 30 set as harmonized.

The purpose of this research was to compare the harmony of tone on tone coloration according to transformation of color area-ratio in traditional Korean dress. The respondents were asked to evaluate 36 stimuli of the traditional Korean skirt and jacket with different color tone. The subjects were 83 female undergraduate students. The results are as follows. For red colors, combinations of vivid/dull, vivid/dark, and light/dark made a difference in the harmony of coloration according to the transformation of color area-ratio. For yellow colors, combinations of vivid/dark, light/dull, and light/dark made a difference in the harmony of coloration according to the transformation of color area-ratio. For green colors, combinations of vivid/dull, vivid/dark, light/dull, and light/dark made a difference in the harmony of coloration according to the transformation of color area-ratio.

The purpose of this research is to compare, according to tone variation of a red jacket, the preference of female college students from Korea and the U.S. for coloration in the traditional Korean dress. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: As to a vivid skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, students of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of vivid red skirt and vivid. dark red jacket, and vivid orange skirt and dull red jacket, and vivid yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and vivid violet skirt and dull red jacket. As to the light skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of light red skirt and light red jacket, and light orange skirt and light red jacket. As to the dull skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of dull red skirt and vivid light dull dark red jacket, and dull yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and dull yellow skirt and light dull red jacket, and dull green skirt and dull red jacket, and dull violet skirt and vivid light dull dark red jacket. As to the dark skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of dark red skirt and dull dark red jacket, and dark orange skirt and vivid light dull red jacket, and dark yellow skirt and dull red jacket. As to the neutral skirt according to tone variation of red jacket, student of both countries showed the different view in the preference for coloration of white skirt and vivid red jacket, and dark gray skirt and light red jacket.

In this research, 128 stimuli of same-color coloration of lipstick and clothing were evaluated to the degree of harmony in the coordination of makeup and clothing color depending on the combination of eyeshadow color, lipstick color, lipstick tone, clothing style, and clothing tone. As to the brown eyeshadow, vivid lipstick and vivid, dull clothing, dull lipstick and light, dull, dark clothing, dark lipstick and dull, dark clothing among the combinations of red lipstick and clothing, vivid lipstick and vivid, light, dark clothing, dull lipstick and light, dull, dark clothing, dark lipstick and dark, clothing among the combinations of orange lipstick and clothing were evaluated as harmonious coloration regardless of the clothing style. As to the violet eyeshadow, vivid lipstick and vivid clothing, dull lipstick and light, dark clothing, dark lipstick and dull, dark clothing among the combinations of red lipstick and clothing, vivid lipstick and vivid, dull clothing, dull lipstick and vivid, light, dull clothing, dark lipstick and vivid, dull, dark clothing among the purple lipstick and clothing were evaluated as harmonious coloration regardless of the clothing style. Thus, the degree of harmony cannot only be different according to the clothing style even in the same coloration, but also the same clothing style can be perceived to be different degree of harmony depending on how the color and tone of clothing and lipstick are coordinate.

Among 96 color combination stimuli, male students evaluated 47 set as harmonized, but female students evaluated 32 set, so proved that male's range of harmony more extensive than that of female. Specially red shirt and yellow red necktie in all tone was evaluated as harmonized coloration by both male and female students. Female evaluated as the best harmonious coloration that red shirt-yellow necktie in dark, blue shirt-yellow necktie in dark, purple shirt-red necktie in light, green shirt-blue necktie in dull, and male evaluated red shirt-yellow red necktie in light, blue shirt-yellow necktie in light, purple shirt-red necktie in light, green shirt-yellow necktie in dark. It is significant difference between female and male on red-green in vivid, and blue-purple in vivid, blue-blue in dull, blue-yellow in dark, and purple-purple in dull. And shirt color and necktie color, necktie color and tone, tone and perceiver' gender influenced on the harmony evaluation by interaction.

본 논문의 목적은 찬피부색을 지닌 사람들이 자신의 이미지를 긍정적인 이미지로 관리하고 자신감 있는 의복색을 선택하여 의상연출에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 찬피부색을 지닌 사람들이 의복색에 따라 어떠한 시각적 이미지 평가가 나타나는지를 준 실험 방법으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. Red계열의 의복색에서는 vivid 톤에서 긍정적인 이미지를, dull과 dark 톤에서 부정적인 이미지를 보여주었다. 2. Yellow계열의 의복색은 vivid, bright 톤에서 긍정적인 이미지를, dull, dark 톤에서 부정적인 이미지를, cool Yellow의 light 톤에서도 긍정적인 이미지 보여주는 것으로 나타났다. 3. warm Green의 의복색은 vivid, deep 톤에서, cool Green의 vivid 톤에서 긍정적인 이미지를 나타내었다. 4. warm Blue의 의복색은 vivid, deep 톤에서 긍정적인 이미지를, cool Blue의 vivid, bright 톤에서 긍정적인 이미지를 지니며, dull 톤에서 부정적인 이미지를 보여주는 것으로 나타났다. 5. Purple계열의 의복색은 vivid, deep, light 톤에서 긍정적인 이미지를, dull 톤에서 부정적인 이미지를 보여주는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to survey the color preference of mothers for the clothing of their children whose clothing is usually chosen by their mothers. The survey was performed by showing 60 color samples to provide the useful data for the fashion color planning. The result of this study shows that the prefe-rences in hue and tone are different mainly by season. The most preferred colors are yellow for boys and pink for girls in spring white in summer-beige in fall and black in winter. The most preferred tones for boys are pale in spring and summer dull in fall and dark in winter For girls light tone is most preferred in spring and pale in summer bright in fall and dark in winter Analysis of tone preferences in 6 colors shows that bright and clear are commonly preferred tones for children's clothing. Pale light vivid tones of yellow green and blue are preferred for girls and boys. Dark purple is preferred in fall and winter while pale tone is preferred in spring and summer. Red is preferred for girls especially in pale bright vivid tones while dark grayish and deep tones are preferred for boys in fall and winter.

This study is aimed to examine color expressed in fashion items and color of new senior generation in America and Korea. For this study, the three brands were selected by country after examining new senior fashion brand in the United States and Korea. The results of this study are as follows. First, In the case of Korea, t-shirt, cardigan, jacket, coat, and pants were investigated in order. In the case of the United States, blouse, sleeveless t-shirt, skirt, and one piece dress were investigated in order. In other words, Korea is characterized the practical and comfort features, the United States is characterized the practical and feminine modernity. Second, in the case of color, Korea is characterized Bk, YR, R, PB, G and the United States is characterized W, Y, YG, B, BG. In the case of tone, Korea is characterized dark greyish tone, light greyish tone, strong tone, vivid tone, deep tone, and light tone. In the United States, greyish tone, dull tone, soft tone, pale tone, bright tone, and dark tone were used. In the case of color by tone, both Korea and the United States are characterized R, RP, and PB in gorgeous tone. In the case of light tone, both Korea and the United States are characterized Y. In the case of plain tone, Korea is characterized Y and the United States is characterized B and G. In the case of dark tone, Korea is characterized R, Y, G, B and the United States is characterized P, R, and B. The results of the study is expected to be provide as forecasting dates of design planning for the new senior generation.
