The last step in the photocycle of photoactive yellow protein (PYP) is a spontaneous recovery of the dark state from the active state in which the p-coumaric acid chromophore is thermally isomerized, concomitantly with the deprotona- tion of the chtomophore and the refolding of the protein moicty. For the purpose of understanding the mechanism of the thermal back-isomerization, we have investigated the rate-determining step by analyzing mutant PYPs of Met100, which was previously shown to play a major role in facilitating the reaction (1). The mutation to Lys, Leu, Ala, or Glu decelerated the dark state recovery by 1 to 3 three orders of magnitude. By evaluating temperature-dependence and pH-dependence of the kinetics of the dark state recovery, it was found that the retardation by mutations resulted from elevation of the activation enthalpy ( H$\^$┿/) and that the pKa of the chromophore, which was affected by the mutation, is in a linier correlation with the amplitude of the rate constants. It was, therefore, deduced from the correlation that the free energy for crossing the activated state in the dark recovery process is proportional to the free energy for the deprotonation of the chromophore, identifying the rate-determining step as the deprotonation of the chromophore. The universe is thought to be filled with not only Standard Model (SM) matters but also dark matters. Dark matter is thought to play a major role in its construction. However, the identity of dark matter is as yet unknown, with various search methods from astrophysical observartion to particle collider experiments. Because of the cross-section that is a thousand times smaller than SM particles, dark matter research requires a large amount of data processing. Therefore, optimization and parallelization in High Performance Computing is required. Dark matter in hypothetical hidden sector is though to be connected to dark photons which carries forces similar to photons in electromagnetism. In the recent analysis, it was studied using the decays of a dark photon at collider experiments. Based on this, we studies double dark photon decays at lepton colliders. The signal channels are e+e- → A'A' and e+e- → A'A'γ where dark photon A' decays dimuon. These signal channels are based on the theory that dark photons only decay into heavily charged leptons, which can explain the muon magnetic momentum anomaly. We scanned the cross-section according to the dark photon mass in experiments. MadGraph5 was used to generate events based on a simplified model. Additionally, to get the maximum expected number of events for the double dark photon channel, the detector efficiency for several center of mass (CM) energy were studied using Delphes and MadAnalysis5 for performance comparison. The results of this study will contribute to the search for double dark photon channels at lepton colliders.
Higgs boson enables the Standard Model (SM) to be established. However, we do not know much about dark matter which occupies approximately six times of the SM particles in universe besides having mass. The interactions of dark matter is much weaker than that of the SM. Further, its mass range is very wide, from the order of eV to PeV. Therefore, many experiments have contributed to search for dark matter by indirect, direct and accelerator research. This paper reviews researches on dark matter using accelerator, especially the $e^+e^-$ collider, from the viewpoint of experimental high energy physicists.
New statistical method is proposed to coherently combine Baryon Acoustic Oscillation statistics (BAO) and peculiar velocity measurements exploiting decomposed density--density and velocity--velocity spectra in real space from the observed redshift distortions in redshift space, 1) to achieve stronger dark energy constraints, sigma(w)=0.06 and sigma(w_a)=0.20, which are enhanced from BAO or velocity measurements alone, and 2) to cross--check consistency of dark energy constraints from two different approaches; BAO as geometrical measurements and peculiar velocity as large scale structure formation observables.
Laser speckle patterns were used to monitor variations of thermal voltages of a cathode during a battery discharge. Discharge voltages measured with an oscilloscope were utilized as a figure of merit of thermal voltages in Zn metal. Using an optical imaging system, speckle patterns were taken for zinc metal surface over a time period of 3 minutes. Pixel sum distribution functions (PSDFs) were extracted from speckle patterns. Accumulated pixel sums quantified from PSDFs over an optimized grayscale range strongly correlated with discharge voltages. This suggested that dark matter or particles may have the capability of both absorbing and radiating thermal energies simultaneously. The black body-like properties were able to be validated by identifying coincidences with distinct features of a black body spectrum. The pixels belonging to the grayscale range were confirmed to represent dark matter of a speckle pattern. It was clear that dark matter was part of surface plasmon carriers. The proposed sensing system can be applied to monitor thermal energy variations in any material.
Current and planned large-volume surveys such as the Sloan Digital Sky Survey extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (SDSS IV-eBOSS) or the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) will use Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs) and Emission Line Galaxies (ELGs) to map the cosmic web up to z~1.7, and will allow one to accurately constrain cosmological models and obtain crucial information on the nature of dark energy and the expansion history of the Universe in novel epochs - particularly by measuring the Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) feature with improved accuracy. To this end, we present here a study of the spatial distribution and clustering of a sample of LRGs and ELGs obtained from a sub-volume of the MultiDark simulation complemented by different semi-analytic prescriptions, and investigate how these two different populations trace the cosmic web at different redshift intervals - along with their synergy. This is the first step towards the interpretation of upcoming ELG and LRG data.
The concordance LCDM model has been very successful at reproducing a wide range of observations. However, the nature of its main components, such as dark energy, dark matter, and inflation, are still unkown. Therefore, it is of prime importance to question the underlying hypotheses of the model and tests there prediction. While most constraints have been obtained assuming a LCDM universe, model-independent approaches, which do not make assumptions regarding the model, are a powerful approach. To falsify the LCDM model, I applied model-indepedent methods to the latests available data to test different aspects of the concordance model, such as the FLRW metric, the curvature, dark energy as the cosmological constant, and gravity as general relativity. The Universe is consistent with flat-LCDM with GR. However, at z>1, tensions start to appear, and more data are required.
If the present universe is slightly open then pre-inflation curvature would appear as a cosmic dark-flow component of the CMB dipole moment. We summarize current cosmological constraints on this cosmic dark flow and analyze the possible constraints on parameters characterizing the pre-inflating universe in an inflation model with a present-day very slightly open ${\Lambda}CDM$ cosmology. We employ an analytic model to show that for a broad class of inflation-generating effective potentials, the simple requirement that the observed dipole moment represents the pre-inflation curvature as it enters the horizon allows one to set upper and lower limits on the magnitude and wavelength scale of pre-inflation fluctuations in the inflaton field and the curvature parameter of the pre-inflation universe, as a function of the fraction of the total initial energy density in the inflaton field. We estimate that if the current CMB dipole is a universal dark flow (or if it is near the upper limit set by the Planck Collaboration) then the present constraints on ${\Lambda}CDM$ cosmological parameters imply rather small curvature ${\Omega}_k{\sim}0.1$ for the pre-inflating universe for a broad range of the fraction of the total energy in the inflaton field at the onset of inflation. Such small pre-inflation curvature might be indicative of open-inflation models in which there are two epochs of inflation.

The effect of sulfite on barley seedlings was investigated through Chl content, the electron transport activity of the photosystem, and Chl fluorescence. Barley leaves were harvested every 12 hrs during greening periods, and were then treated with a sulfite solution in either light or dark conditions. In both cases, the Chl content decreased in comparison with the control at any greening period. After sulfite treatment in the light, the activity of PS I decreased slightly, yet that of PSII showed a decrease of about 15%. The values of Fv, qP and qE decreased, however, the value of ql increased compared with the control. In addition, the value of qE decreased in leaves greened more than 12 hrs compared with that of the control. This indicates that the photosynthetic complex involved in energy dependent fluorescence quenching is undeveloped in a 12 hrs greened leaf, accordingly, it was a hardly affected by sulfite. After sulfite treatment in the dark, the activities of PSII and PSI decreased slightly, there was a small change in the value of Fv, qP decreased, and qE and the ratio of qNP/q increased in comparison with the control. As a result, PSII and PSI were not inhibited, however, the redox of QA was inhibited, and the excited energy was lost through the nonphotochemical pathway. The effects of sulfite in light or dark conditions were not considerably different with the Chl fluorescence quenching analysis method. In both light and dark conditions, the value of qP significantly decreased with sulfite compared to that of the control. This implies that the redox of QA was inhibited by sulfite in both light and dark contions.
These days, citizens are interested in the energy. IT technology needs to develop and to make use of energy effectively and to save energy. In this study, motion recognition LED lamp was used to have good energy efficiency and to be made of environment friendly material. The purpose of development of the lamp was to add motion recognition to LED lamp. In this study, infrared ray sensor's distance measurement was used to develop LED lamp. Most of the lamps were used under dark environment, so that infrared ray sensor was used to perceive movement under dark environment. And, LED lamp with good efficiency and less power consumption was used to increase efficiency. Citizens were interested in perception of the movement to distinguish from conventional type of the lamps.
