  • Our country's coast is vulnerable area to natural disaster which the repetitive damages occur every year including a loss of lives, the damage of facilities and erosion mostly except for the east coast because of a typhoon, tidal waves, sea water overflowing by topographic structure of low-lying gentle slope and shallow sea. However, as for prevention of natural disaster occurring every year, the situation is that it's centered on the restorationcentered measures and the general disaster prevention research to minimize damages at the time of disaster occurrence is insufficient. This study intendedlop t to devehe techniques possible for real time sampling of damage prediction areas on Web in order to support decision making for damage prevention and establishment of disaster prevention policy. For this, the thematic map was produced related to disaster based on high-resolution satellite picture, and the environmental DB similar to real world was constructed through topographic construction of three-dimension integrating the parts of land and the sea. In addition, the system was developed possible for the expression of damageable regions by real time grasp of dangerous regions at the time of disaster occurrence through over flowing simulation of three-dimension, and it's intended to prepare a basis to minimize damages to disaster situations through it.

  • 동아대학교 승학캠퍼스는 산지를 굴착하여 약 10년 전부터 연차적으로 건설되어 왔다. 1989년 8월에 내린 200mm16ay이상의 집중호우로 인한 지하수 및 산사태로써 건물, 사면, 미로 등 많은 피해를 입었다. 이 피해의 원인조사 및 보완대책을 위하여 현황 및 50m 격자형 위치측량, 예비조사, 야외간이 측량법, 지구 물리학적 탐사법, 시추조사 및 흙의 특성시험 등이 수행되었다. 이러한 조사결과를 바탕으로 피해의 원인 및 예측을 수행하였으며 수평배수공법, 위험한 노출암괴의 제거, 지하배수를 겸한 옹벽설치, 붕적층의 제거 및 격자형 블록에 의한 사면안정공법 등좌 보완대책이 수립되었다.

  • Mobile patrol robots are mainly used in aerospace and military engineering because they can work at dangerous environment replacing a man. This paper presents a study on the remote monitoring and control system of a mobile patrol robot platform using TCP/IP. The mobile robot consists of intel PXA270 and linux-based system. It can get environment information such as images, temperature, humidity and slope by using two cameras and various sensors. And it transmits information data to a monitoring system through the ad-hoc network which is one of wireless network solutions. At this time, a mobile robot is a server and a monitoring system is a client. Users can monitor environment information which is received from a mobile robot by an application based on PC. We have used TCP/IP protocol, socket programming, interface technique of process and devices and control algorithm to embody the mobile robot and its monitoring system. Experimental results shows that the system can be utilized as a remote patrol monitoring tool.

  • A new wire detection algorithm for power line inspection by a mobile robot has been proposed in this paper. There have been a lot of studies in order to support the high-quality electric power. For the high-quality power supply, it is necessary to investigate the power lines and insulators before the lines or insulators were disconnected or damaged. Although Korea Electric power Corp. has made many efforts for the quality improvement, it is not enough to inspect all the power lines by human inspectors. According to this problem, it is decided to replace the human operators by the power line inspection robot. When the robots are used for the inspection, there could be several advantages, for example, the working efficiency and the prevention of accident. And also the shortage of human power for dangerous jobs can be resolved. In this paper, as a part of the development of power line inspection robot, DICRO, the sensor fusion and fuzzy control algorithms are developed to detect the wire and slope of the wire. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is proved by the real experiments with DICRO which is under development so far.

Development of Safety Sensor for Vehicle-Type Forest Machine in Forest Road

  • A sensor system has been developed that uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect the downhill slope on the side of a forest road and prevents a vehicle-type forest machine from rolling down a mountainside. A specular reflection of ultrasonic wave might cause severe issues in measuring distances to targets. By investigating the installation angle of the sensor to minimize the negative effects of specular reflection, the installation angle of lateral monitoring ultrasonic sensor could be determined based on the width of road shoulder. Obstacles such as small rocks or piece of log in a forest road may cause the forest machine to be overturned while the machine riding over due to excessive its posture change. It was determined that the laser sensor could be a part of a sensor system capable of specifying the location and size of small obstacles. Not only this sensor system including ultrasonic and laser sensors can issue a warning of dangerous sections to drivers in forest forwarders currently in use, but also it can be used as a driving safety sensor in autonomous forest machine or remote-control forest machine in the future.

초기 변동수위를 고려한 제방 월류에 따른 안정성 분석 (Stability Analysis of Embankment Overtopping by Initial Fluctuating Water Level)

  • 지반공학적으로 제방(또는 댐) 월류에 대한 근거를 제시하기 어렵다. 수문학적인 안정성 평가에서 댐의 초기수위(만수위)를 고정시키고 강우량을 계산하기 때문에 월류 가능성은 매우 희박하다. 그러나 Copula 함수를 사용하여 초기수위가 고정된 댐의 만수위가 아닌 변동성 있는 확률수위를 적용해서 국내 40년간의 빈도를 고려할 때, 월류 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 수문학적 댐의 위험성 분석은 다양한 불확실성 인자 중 댐 초기수위에 대한 모의기법 개발이 필요한 복잡한 수문학적 해석을 요구한다. 본 연구에서는 기존 댐 위험도 분석 시 초기수위는 상시만수위 또는 홍수기 제한수위로 가정하지만, 이러한 보수적인 가정에 의한 연구는 기상변동성 및 기후변화의 영향을 고려하지 못하며, 댐의 월류확률 및 이에 따른 붕괴확률을 추정하는데 있어서 지반공학적인 접근이 필요하다. Copula 함수를 이용하여 댐 특성에 맞는 초기수위를 결정하였으며, HEC-5 모형을 활용하여 강우-유출 모형 매개변수의 사후분포를 정량적으로 추정하여 댐 월류확률을 산정하였다. 지반공학적인 측면에서 댐 안정성 해석은 상류사면(upstream)의 수위급강하(drawdown)에 대한 안전율과 하류사면(downstream) 월류상태에서의 불안정성을 비교하여 지반공학적 위험도를 비교 분석하였다.

  • 한국건설기술연구원(KICT)에서는 도로의 안전성 분석을 위해서 도로의 각종 정보를 이동하는 차량을 이용하여 신속하게 취득하고, 이를 토대로 도로의 결함구간을 분석할 수 있는 도로 안전성 조사 분석 차량(RoSSAV, Road Safety Survey and Analysis Vehicle)을 개발하였다. 본 연구를 통해 도로의 안전성에 의심이 되는 지역에 대해서 3차원 도로 모델링을 통한 도로 선형 결함 알고리즘을 개발하였으며, 이를 위해서는 신속하고 정확한 데이터가 수집되어야 한다. 차량에 회전식 레이저 스캐너, GPS(Global Positioning System), INS(Inertial Navigation System), CCD(Charge-Coupled Device) 카메라 그리고 DMI(Distance Measuring Instrument) 등 여러 센서를 장착하여 데이터를 취득하였다. 마지막으로 이들 데이터를 통합하여 3차원 도로 기하(도로 중심선, 도로 경계선), 도로 시설물과 사면을 추출하였다.

  • 박리, 박락 및 들뜸현상과 같은 결함으로 노후화된 숏크리트 자체가 통행차량이나 시설물에 위험요소로 존재함으로써 이에 대한 피해예방이 요구되는 실정이다. 그러나 급격한 경사와 고소작업 등으로 인해 접근이 곤란하며, 외관상으로는 숏크리트 내부 상황 파악이 힘들다는 한계가 지적되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 기술적 한계를 극복하고자 적외선 열화상을 이용하여 숏크리트면의 미소한 열이동을 측정해 표면에서 관찰할 수 없는 내부의 결함을 조사하고자 하였다. 현장조사, 측정자료 분석과 내시경 카메라를 이용한 현장조사 작업을 통해 검증을 실시한 결과 숏크리트의 과도한 피복으로 인해 습윤부의 정확한 판정은 불가하였으나 내부의 공동부위를 비파괴 비접촉 방식에 의해 효과적으로 추출할 수 있었다.

고장력 경강선을 적용한 낙석방지울타리의 성능 및 경제성 평가 (Assessment of Performance and Cost-Effectiveness for the Rockfall Protection Fence Using a High Carbon Steel Wire Rod)

  • In Korea, more than 70% of the territory consists of mountains. Therefore, the construction of roads and railways has generally involved with a steep rock slope in which the event of rockfalls are often occurred due to the weathered rock conditions and rainfalls etc. This is dangerous when the rock falls into the road and railway on which vehicles and trains are running. In order to prevent such rockfalls, the rockfall protection fence consisting of post, wire rope, and PVC coating steel net has most used at the bottom of rock slopes. In a general practice, an absorbing rockfall energy, 50kJ is specified by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation. However, questions still remain about whether the rockfall protection fence works effectively or not. In this study, a typical wire rope used in the standard rockfall protection fence was replaced by the high carbon steel wire rod and to validate its capacity of rockfall energy absorbing the field rockfall tests were conducted. The testing results show that a new rockfall protection fence using the high carbon steel wire rods can absorb the rockfall energy more than 50kJ and 20% of construction cost was saved in comparison with the previous rockfall protection fence.

Spatially Distributed Model for Soil Loss Vulnerability Assessment in Mekong River Basin

  • The Mekong which is one of the world's most significant rivers plays an extremely important role to South East Asia. Lying across six riparian countries including China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam and being a greatly biological and ecological diversity of fishes, the river supports a huge population who living along Mekong Basin River. Therefore, much attention has been focused on the giant Mekong Basin River, particularly, the soil erosion and sedimentation problems which rise critical impacts on irrigation, agriculture, navigation, fisheries and aquatic ecosystem. In fact, there have been many methods to calculate these problems; however, in the case of Mekong, the available data have significant limitations because of large area (about 795 00 km2) and a failure by management agencies to analyze and publish of developing countries in Mekong Basin River. As a result, the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) model in a GIS (Geographic Information System) framework was applied in this study. The USLE factors contain the rainfall erosivity, soil erodibility, slope length, steepness, crop management and conservation practices which are represented by raster layers in GIS environment. In the final step, these factors were multiplied together to estimate the soil erosion rate in the study area by using spatial analyst tool in the ArcGIS 10.2 software. The spatial distribution of soil loss result will be used to support river basin management to find the subtainable management practices by showing the position and amount of soil erosion and sediment load in the dangerous areas during the selected 56- year period from 1952 to 2007.
