  • 본 논문에서는 한국어 일상대화를 연속적으로 제공하기 위한 서비스 플랫폼을 제안하였다. 본 플랫폼을 통해서 자동으로 일상대화를 수집하고, 정제하고, 학습하여, 사람과 시스템간의 일상대화를 연속적으로 진행할 수 있게 함으로써, 현재 트랜드가 반영된 대화를 실시간으로 수행할 수 있게 되었다.

거주지 계층에 따른 유아교육 기관에서의 아동의 활동분석 - 아동중심 교육 프로그램을 기반으로 - (Analyses of Childrens Daily Activities in Preschools of Middle-and Lower-Income Communities: Focus on Child-Centered Educational Programs)

  • This study compared children's daily activities In the preschools of middle-and lower-income communities. 22 children, evenly divided by community and children's gender, were observed for 3 hours on 5 consecutive days. The observers followed the target child, gathering data during 30-second "windows" every 4 1/2 minutes. A total of 750 observations were used in the analyses. The findings show the variation in children's activities as a function of community differences. In the case of academic activities, children of middle-income community were more exposed to and engaged in play with academic objects more than children of the of low-income community. A reverse tendency, however, was found in academic lessons. Children of low-income community were more exposed to work than their counterparts. Children of middle-income community were engaged in child-adult conversation more than those of low-income community. In addition, children of the middle-income community initiated their involvement in play and conversation more than their counterparts, though no difference was found in children's initiation of activities.

  • This study was carried out to obtain good livestock production in comparison with 3 different pasture mixture (Control : TI = Potomac orchardgrass + Bastion perennial ryegrass + Fawn tall fescue + Regal white clover, T2 = Potomac orchardgrass + Bastion perennial ryegrass + Roa tall fescue + Regal white clover, T3 = Potomac orchardgrass + Bastion perennial ryegrass + Roa tall fescue + Tahora white clover) by grazing experiment used 45 dairy calves (about lOOkg liveweight) during the period from April to October, 1994 at the Isidole farm, Cheju. Daily liveweight gains of calves grazed during the experiment period were 331${\pm}$29, 352${\pm}$4, 356${\pm}$18g in treatment 1, 2 and 3 respectively, but did not get statistically significant difference. On compared the results with the period investigated, the period which was highest in daily liveweight gain was early grazing season b m May to June while the period shown to be lowest in daily liveweight gain was between late July and late August. Hehage intake rate did not get significant difference among treatments with results shown as 67${\pm}$1.2, 62${\pm}$5.1, 60${\pm}$9.6% in treatment 1, 2 and 3 respectively. And efficiency of conversation into animal product was high in treatment 2. It is considered that good results were not obtained in this study because tall fescue and white clover, important species in this trial did not cover the pasture well with slow establishment in 1st year after seeding.

발도르프 프로그램과 생활주제중심 프로그램 유형에 따른 5세 유아의 활동분석 (Waldorf and Theme-based Program Analyses of Five-year-olds' Activities of Early Childhood Educational Programs)

  • This study was to provide date for developing a effective educational program which would be helpful for teachers to understand children's daily activities more properly. From two kindergartens, 20 children were observed for 3 consecutive hours. The observer followed the target child, gathering data during 30-second "windows". This observation lasted for three hours per day and each child was observed 60 times. The proportion of major activities such as education, play, work, and conversation in children's daily activities was compared. Results showed that children of Waldorf program were more exposed to and engaged in play than children of Theme-based program, whereas children of theme-based program were exposed to and engaged in academic activities than those of Waldorf program.

Korean Gay Men's Daily Life and Fashion

  • The primary purpose of this study is to explore the daily lives of gay men and assess their interests in fashion and appearance management with the goal of better understanding the roles or meanings of fashion in their lives. In-depth interview method was adopted and the responses were analyzed qualitatively. Six homosexual men were interviewed, and the outcome of each conversation was recorded and analyzed; each man had a different background and thus showed different behavioral patterns. The life patterns distinct to Korean gays, the importance the highly patriarchal society places on family lineage and mandatory military service, for example, were discussed. Even though the interviewees asserted that their interests in fashion is not related to their sexual orientation, fashion was utilized as a means of self-expression by these gay men.

  • This paper investigated the influence of foreign words, otherwise known as loan words, on global communication abilities of university students from two non English-speaking countries: Korea and Japan. To survey the understanding and usage of foreign words which are from English language and used frequently in daily conversation, questionnaires were administered to Korean and Japanese university students majoring in engineering who shared similar linguistic backgrounds. The results were analyzed from global communication viewpoint. Based on the results, methods for improving global communication skills in engineering education were proposed.

  • The purpose of this research is support blind person's daily walking. In order to achieve the purpose, we investigate how the environmental information is used for their daily walking both in residential and commercial areas considering the characteristics of walking. In the investigation, interview to the persons concerned is carried out and all the conversation with them is recorded with a voice recorder. Moreover, the environmental information that may become clues is plotted on a map together with photos. The results are as follows; (1) Environmental information which the blind persons use is different depending on the role of its own of place, such as place confirmation, direction decision, distance understanding. (2) It is demonstrated that the information acquisition from sound is effective when they especially understand place and location.

소셜 로봇과 노년층 사용자 간 대화 분석 기반의 사용자 특성 연구: 현상학적 분석 방법론과 군집 분석을 중심으로 (Study on User Characteristics based on Conversation Analysis between Social Robots and Older Adults: With a focus on phenomenological research and cluster analysis)

  • 인구의 고령화와 기술의 성장으로 등장한 소셜 로봇의 한 유형인 개인형 서비스 로봇은 최근 가정에서 노년층의 독립 생활 연장에 도움이 될 수 있는 기술을 중심으로 변화하고 있다. 노년층이 일상 생활에서 소셜 로봇 신기술을 수용하고, 장기적으로 사용하기 위해서는 사용자 관점의 맥락과 감정을 보다 심층적으로 이해하는 능력이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 정량 데이터와 정성 데이터를 통합한 혼합 방법(mixed-method)을 활용하여 노년층 사용자를 깊이 있게 이해하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로 노년층 사용자와 소셜 로봇 간 음성 대화 기록을 감정과 대화 주체를 주요 변수로 하여 현상학적 방법론 중 하나인 Van Kaam 방법론을 활용하여 그룹핑함으로써 9개 유형으로 대화를 구분하고, 이를 개인화한 대화의 빈도와 비중을 기반으로 사용자를 세분화하였다. 그리고 인구 통계적 데이터와 건강지표에 관한 사전 설문조사 결과를 사용하여 프로파일링 분석을 진행하였다. 이어서 대화 분석을 토대로 K-means 군집분석을 실시하여 노년층 사용자를 3개의 집단으로 분류하고, 각 집단별 특성을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 모형은 향후 일상 생활에서 돌봄 기능이 있는 소셜 로봇 제공을 위해 노년층 사용자의 이해를 필요로 하는 기업에게 노년층 사용자 세분화에 관한 방법론을 제공함으로써 사용자 이해를 위한 인사이트 도출과 관련 사업을 성장시키는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

아시아 상황의 영어 공통어 자질 연구: 리듬 특성 (A study on the features of English as a lingua franca in Asian contexts: Rhythmic features)

  • This paper investigated the rhythmic features of speakers of English as a lingua franca in Asian contexts. A speech corpus of 150 conversations between speakers of English in Asia with different L1 backgrounds was collected and %V, ${\Delta}V$, VarcoV, and nPVI-V of each speaker were analyzed. It was found that L1 difference of the speakers and the speakers' daily use of English influenced %V, while the speakers' daily use of English influenced ${\Delta}V$. The gender difference of the speakers also affected the rhythm of the utterances in VarcoV. A weak correlation between the two speakers' rhythm in each conversation was also found in %V and ${\Delta}V$. No significant effects were found in nPVI-V. The results revealed that the speakers tended to accommodate the rhythm of their utterance to that of the interlocutors'. Further study on the speaking rate of the speakers is required to overcome some inconsistencies found in the results of the rhythmic metrics used in this study.

다차원 척도 구성법을 이용한 한국어 음소의 분석 (Analysis of Korean Phonemes Using Multi-Dimentional Scaling Method)

  • Using Multi-Dimentional Scaling(MDS) method, this paper analyzes the differences of acoustic properties of Korean phonemes projected as distances on a plan space. The phonemes were extracted from mono-syllables frequently occurring in daily conversation. From the distances between vowels we found that the distances between vowels /∂/ and /w/, /o/ and /u/, and vowels /$\varepsilon$/ and /e/ were relatively too short separate automatically. From the analysis of consonants. we found short distances between 1) phonemes in each phoneme group, 2) nasals and liquid /r/ of work initial, 3) nasal /n,m/ and liquid /l/ of word finals. But nasals, liquids and plosives of word initials had enough distances to be separated from those of word finals in automatic recogniation.
