  • Fatigue behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) elements has been experimentally and analytical investigated. Fatigue behavior influenced by longitudinal reinforcement ratio, strength of concrete and load ratio P/sub u//P/sub o/. The purpose of these studies is to propose an empirical formula for fatigue behavior on basis of experimental results. Also an analytical method to predict the crack propagation of RC beams has been developed based on the relationships between bond stress and slip.

Robust Digital Nonlinear Friction Compensation (견실한 비선형 마찰보상 이산제어)

  • This report suggests a new non-linear friction compensation for digital control systems. This control adopts a hysteric nonlinear clement which can introduce the phase lead of the control system to compensate the phase delay comes from the inherent time delay of a digital control. The Lyapunov direct method is used to prove the asymtotic stability of the suggested control, and the stability and the effectiveness are verified analytically and experimentally on a single axis servo driving system.

  • This article investigates the problem of data preprocessing for the precision orbit determination (POD) of low earth orbit satellite using GPS .aw data. Several data preprocessing algorithms have been developed to edit the GPS data automatically such that outlier deletion, cycle slip identification and correction, and time tag error correction. The GPS data are precisely edited for the accuracy of POD. Some methods of data preprocessing are restricted to the rate of the collections of the pseudorange and carrier phase measurements. This study considers the preprocessing efficiency varied with the rate, the quality of receiver and the altitude of the satellite's orbit. We also propose the proper methods in accordance with the rate for single frequency and dual frequency receivers.

  • To increase the throughput of data transmission in burst-mode TDMA communication systems and also to get a good BER performance at the same time, it is essential to rapidly acquire the carrier while keeping the desirable tracking performance. To achieve this goal, in this paper, a new decision-directed carrier recovery algorithm is presented. The proposed scheme does not incorporate the PLL and suppress the Gaussian random process of input noise by the pre-stage low pass filter so as to get both the fast acquisition and a good performance. Through computer simulations, the performance of the scheme is analyzed with respect to the acquisition time and bit error rate. The cycle slip in the proposed scheme is seldom observed at very low SNR environment in contrast to the previous proposed one. Because of this merit, it is not required to do the differential encoding and decoding in the proposed scheme.

  • Kinematic GPS surveying which can be obtained many three-dimensional topographical informations through a short-time measurement is being utilized mainly in the short base line of a few km and below The coordinate for the long base line depends on Static GPS surveying But it needs long time measurement. Therefore, the method which can decide a position of the long base line for a short time is being needed. To examine a possibility of an efficient use of kinematic GPS surveying of the long base line, this research has analysed an accuracy of the base line by static GPS surveying according to baseline distance, ephmeris, and observation time. As the results of research, I could see that accuracy was very low in case of the occurrence of cycle slip. When we use of precise ephmeris, we obtained 1ppm and less of accuracy with one-minute kinematic GPS surveying within 70km. If a lot of studies about the long baseline kinematic GPS surveying are processed, a topographical information necessary for each kind of construction field including land development could be utilized more efficiently.

  • A two-degree-of-freedom model is suggested to describe basic dynamical behaviors of the interaction between the pad and the disc of a disc brake system. Although a pad (and a disc) has many modes of vibration in practice, only one mode of each component Is considered. In this paper, a linear analysis is performed by means of the stability analysis to show various conditions for the system to become unstable, and is based on the assumption that the existence of limit cycle (this corresponds to an unstable equilibrium point inside the limit cycle) represents the squeal state of the disc brake system. The results of the stability analysis show that the damping of the disc is as much Important as that of the pad, whereas the damping of the pad only is considered In most practical situations.

  • X-ray diffraction method detects change of crystal lattice distance under material surface using diffraction angle 2$\theta$. This technique can be applied to the behavior on slip band and micro crack due to material degradation. The relation between half-value breadth and number of cycle has three stages which constitute rapid decrease in initial number of cycles, slight decrease in middle number of cycles and rapid decrease in final number of cycles. The ratio of half-value breadth takes a constant value on B/B$_{0}$-N diagram with loading condition except early part of fatigue life. The ratio of half-value breadth B/B$_{0}$ with respect to number of cycle to failure N$_{f}$ has linear behavior on B/B$_{0}$-log N$_{f}$ diagram. Therefore, in this paper the estimation of fatigue life by average gradient method has much less estimated mean error than the estimation of fatigue life by log B/B$_{0}$-log N/N$_{f}$ relation.elation.ation.

  • The AFM (Ambiguity Function Method) is insensitive to the integer ambiguity and the presence of cycle slips in the carrier phase observations. But there are two significant problems with using the AM to determine GPS base-lines. The first problem is the long computation time required to determine the optim position. The second problem is that there may be sever maxima points that the AFM gorithm must discriminate between within the search volume in order to identify the optim position. A new gorithm which enables the AFM to be applied to the OTF (On-the-fly) environments by significantly shortening the computation time is proposed in this paper. In addition to it, sever statistic procedures which verify whether the optim position is true or not are proposed.

  • The blade vibration problem of bladed disk is the most critical subject to consider since it directly affects the stable performance of the engine as well as life of the engine. Especially, due to complicated vibration pattern of the bladed disk, more effort was required for vibration analysis and test. The research of measuring the vibration of the bladed disk, using NSMS(Non-intrusive stress measurement) instead of Aeromechanics testing method requiring slip ring or telemetry system with strain gauge, was successful. These testing can report the actual stresses seen on the blades; detect synchronous resonances that are the source of high cycle fatigue (HCF) in blades; measure individual blade mis-tuning and coupled resonances in bladed disks. In order to minimize the error being created due to heat expansion, the tip timing sensor is installed parallel to the blade trailing edge, yielding optimal result. Also, when working on finite element analysis, the whole bladed disk has gone through three-dimensional analysis, evaluating the family mode. The result of the analysis matched well with the test result.
