푸리에 급수를 이용한 엔드밀링 절삭력 및 공구변형 표현 (Closed Form Expression of Cutting Forces and Tool Deflection in End Milling Using Fourier Series)

  • Machining accuracy is closely related with tool deflection induced by cutting forces. In this research, cutting forces and tool deflection in end milling are expressed as a closed form of tool rotational angle and cutting conditions. The discrete cutting fores caused by periodic tool entry and exit are represented as a continuous function using the Fourier series expansion. Tool deflection is predicted by direct integration of the distributed loads on cutting edges. Cutting conditions, tool geometry, run-outs and the stiffness of tool clamping part are considered together far cutting forces and tool deflection estimation. Compared with numerical methods, the presented method has advantages in prediction time reduction and the effects of feeding and run-outs on cutting forces and tool deflection can be analyzed quantitatively. This research can be effectively used in real time machining error estimation and cutting condition selection for error minimization since the form accuracy is easily predicted from tool deflection curve.

  • 5-axis laser cutting has great advantages when it is applied to three dimensional machining requiring high cutting quality. For developing 5-axis CNC laser cutting systems, however, many problems such as rotating a laser head or a working table, 5-axis servo-control mechanism, tool path generation and post-processing, and collision avoidance between a laser head and a work-piece should be solved. In this paper, we deal with developing a motion simulator for 5-axis laser cutting machine with a nutating cutting head whose rotational axis is in an inclined plane. Two essential modules such as post-processor and cutting motion simulator was developed based on a commercial 3D CAD of UG-NX. The developed system was applied to three dimensional cutting products and showed the validity of the developed methods.

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the efficient turning method which will be able to use every cutting methods, to calculate the width of the center field which must transpose from rotary cutting method to return cutting method, to investigate the effects of L/W and unit field on the operation efficiency. The results are summarized as follows: 1. In case of cutting in the outer field, the efficient turning method is the "$\alpha$" type turning method (half U-shaped turning method) at the first rotation, is the "$\beta$" type turning method (T-shaped turning method) at the second to fourth rotation. 2. In case of cutting in the inner field, the efficient turning method which takes the least turning time is the "a" type turning method ($\Delta$-shaped turning method). 3. The width of the center field (W') changes by the length-width ratio (L/W) and width (W), W' is 9.0m in case that L/W is 2.5 and W is 30m. 4. The larger L/W and area of unit field (A) become, the more operation efficiency (E) increases, and the limits that E is affected signicantly by L/W is 2 to 3.5 and A is within 5,000$m^2$. within 5,000$m^2$.

유리앰플 주사제 개봉방법이 유리조각 혼입 및 약물오염에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Different Methods of Cutting Ampules on Drug Contamination by Glass Flakes from the Ampule)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine how medication contamination in a single-dose glass ampule is affected by minute glass flakes generated in different methods of cutting the ampule. Method: Sixty medication-containing glass ampules were randomly assigned to two groups. The number of glass flakes, resulting from two different cutting methods (with cotton and without cotton), were counted under the microscope. Contamination was evaluated by extracted the medication with a syringe and culturing it in E. coli, coliform, and aerobic bacteria culture media. Result: Fewer glass flakes were found in the ampules when the ampule was cut with cotton. The use of cotton, however, did not significantly change the degree of drug contamination. Conclusion: Although minute glass flakes generated in the ampule cutting operation did not significantly contaminate the medication and the use of cotton decreased the number of glass flakes in the ampules, glass flakes injected into the blood and tissues of the patient remain a risk factor. Therefore, pre-filled syringes or syringes with filters would be alternative methods and safeguards against the possible injection of glass flakes generated while cutting the ampule.

반응표면법을 이용한 5축 임펠러 정삭 가공의 최적화 (Optimization of Finish Cutting Condition of Impeller with Five-Axis Machine by Response Surface Method)

  • An impeller is a important part of turbo-machinery. It has a set of twisted surfaces because it consists of many blades. Five-axis machining is required to produce a impeller because of interference between tool and workpiece. It can obtain good surface integrity and high productivity. This paper proposes finish cutting method for machining impeller with 5-axis machining center and optimization of cutting condition by response surface method. Firstly, cutting methods are selected by consideration of operation characteristics. Secondly, response factors are determined as cutting time and cutting error for prediction of productivity. Experiments are projected by central composite design with axis point. Thirdly, regression linear models are estimated as single surface in the leading edge and as dual surface in the hub surface cutting. Finally, cutting conditions are optimized.

In this paper, we deal with developing a dedicated CAM system based on UG-NX3 for 5-axis laser cutting machine. Two essential modules such as post-processor and cutting motion simulation was developed. The developed system was applied to cutting curve defined on 3-D workpiece in order to show the validity of the proposed methods.

Cutting conditions, tool geometry, run-outs and the stiffness of tool clamping pan are considered for cutting forces and tool deflection estimation. Compared to numerical methods, the presented method has advantages in short prediction time and the effects of feeding and run-outs on cutting forces and tool deflection can be analyzed quantitatively. This research can be effectively used in real time machining error estimation and cutting condition selection for error minimization since the ferm accuracy is easily predicted by tool deflect ion curve.

파일 두부정리 자동화 장비를 위한 두부정리선 센싱 방법 (Cutting-Line Sensing Methods for an Automated Concrete Pile Cutter)

  • 건설현장에서 기성 콘크리트 파일의 사용이 점차적으로 증가하고 있다. 파일기초를 형성하는 주요 작업들 중의 하나가 콘크리트 파일의 두부를 $800kg/cm^2$ 이상의 압력으로 파쇄하는 것이다. 일반적으로 파일 두부정리 작업은 크러셔와 3~4명의 숙련공에 의하여 실시된다. 최근 파일 두부정리에 관한 보고에 의하면 파일의 강도를 상당히 감소시키는 균열이 작업 중에 많이 발생하고 있고 파일 두부정리 작업이 매우 반복적이고 노동집약적인 것으로 나타났다. 기존의 파일 두부정리 작업의 생산성, 안전성, 품질을 향상시키기 위하여 두부정리 자동화 장비를 개발하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 두부정리선을 인식하기 위한 센싱방법과 작동 프로세스 알고리즘을 제시하고 있다. 이것은 두부정리 자동화 장비를 개발하기 위하여 매우 중요하다. 제안된 센싱방법 중 1가지를 적용한 파일롯 타입의 두부정리 자동화 장비를 개발하였으며, 현장에서 기능을 실험하였다.

압축공기를 이용한 건식 선삭가공의 절삭특성 (Cutting Characteristics of Dry Turning Using Compressed Air)

  • The purposes of using cutting fluid during cutting have been cooling, lubricating, chip washing, and anti-corroding. However, the present manufacturing industry restricts the use of cutting fluid because cutting fluid contains poisonous substances which are harmful to the human body. Therefore dry cutting becomes an unavoidable assignment and a lot of researches have studied cutting methods without using cutting fluid. Because dry turning is a continuous work, tools life is reduced by continuous heat generation and surface gets rough due to reduced lubrication, so it is important to consider these situations. In this paper, the way of selecting the optimal machining condition by the minimum number of experiments and the effectiveness of using compressed air in high hardness materials through Taguchi method have been found. Dry cutting using compressed air showed better cutting characteristics than normal dry cutting with respect to by cutting force, tool wear, and surface roughness. Also, the optimal machining condition f3r dry cutting using compressed air could be selected through Taguchi method.

새로운 다이아몬드 와이어 쏘 절단 기술 개발에 관한 실험적 검증 (An Experimental Verification on the Development of an Innovative Diamond Wire Saw Cutting Technology)

  • This paper introduces a innovative diamond wire saw cutting technology and its experimental verification that can be utilized for cutting heavy structures. While conventional diamond wire saw cutting technologies such as water cooled cutting method and dry cutting method cause severe environmental problems due to generating massive concrete sludge or dust scattering, the proposed method can eliminate those problems considerably. Through extensive experiments using heavy structure test bed and real bridge pier structure, comprehensive analysis and comparative evaluation about various cutting methods were performed. As a result, the innovative diamond wire saw cutting method could achieve a similar cutting and cooling performance to the water cooled cutting method without generating concrete sludge and it showed an improved cutting and cooling performance to the dry cutting method without dust scattering. Consequently it is confirmed that the suggested cutting technology can be a promising environment-friendly alternative in the field of heavy structure dismantling.
