  • The results of study for colorless hair manicure, which is well known for its useful point and supplement damaged hair glossy, luster, elastic and soft one are as follows. Hair protection effect by the management time of colorless hair manicure products, as below. When it comes to dyed hair group's hair surface condition. both level 3 and level 6 hairs cuticle changed to be irregular. And lose of cuticle has been observed with a fact that the space between cuticles are not clear. In case of manicuring, manicuring 2 weeks after dyeing is better complemented surface damage than manicuring right after dyeing. So, in case of making cuticle morphologic of good hair quality in manicuring dyed hair, it's more effective to manicure right after dyeing to both level 3 and level 6 hair.

  • Perm is one the of the most common thing in a beauty salon like hair-cut and hair perm needs processing solutions which is chemical substances. Those chemical substances damage the hair cuticle. Damaged hair cuticles with mistakes of perm will follow with the next performance and it will cause more damage to hair. As damage of hair cuticle become worse, it is harder to recover the hair cuticle like before. Therefore, this study shows that plain rinse is the way to reduce the damage of hair cuticle with perm as much as possible. With experiments, I suggest the right way to do plain rinse to satisfy customers' demand and reduce the damage. During the research, I figured that plain rinse with the knowledge, structure of hair cuticle, principle of perm and plain rinse, is very needed. The hair with plain rinse have more elastic curl and have less scales which came off from hair cuticle than the hair without plain rinse. This experiment concludes that hairdresser has to figure out about the time, temperature and type of water depends on the degree of damaged hair of customers. In order to perm, there is no way to not to use chemical substances to perm. Therefore, hairdresser has to choose suitable processing solutions and right steps, and as this is the age of 'well-being' boom, hairdresser must try to keep the healthy hair. Consequently, in order to meet the demands and conditions of customers, hairdresser needs to find the right method to do plain rinse and use the method in perm.

  • Plant leaf cuticle is related to the prevention of moisture loss, transpiration, and diffusion of light reflection. The purpose of this study was to examine the morphological characteristics of ginseng leaves in ginseng plants resistant and susceptible to hightemperature injury (HTI) to be related with the leaf-burning. For the HTI resistant lines Yunpoong, high-temperature injury resistance (HTIR) 1, HTIR 2, and HTIR 3, and the HTI-susceptible line Chunpoong, the cuticle densities were 53.0%, 46.2%, 44.9%, 48.0%, and 17.0%; the adaxial leaf cuticle layers were 141.3, 119.7, 119.7, 159.4, and 85.0 nm in thickness; the abaxial leaf cuticle layers were 153.6, 165.8, 157.9, 199.6, and 119.4 nm in thickness; and the stomtal lengths were 21.7, 32.4, 29.4, 30.9, and $21.8{\mu}m$, respectively. All of these aspects suggest that HTI resistant lines have higher cuticle density, thickicker adaxial and abaxial leaf cuticle layers, and longer of stomta length than the HTI-susceptible line, protecting leaves from moisture loss and excessive transpiration under high temperatures to be resistant against the leaf-burning.

  • Angiostrongylus cantonensis is a parasitic nematode that needs to develop in different hosts in different larval stages. Freshwater snails, such as Pomacea canaliculata, are the intermediate host, and rats are the definitive host. Periodic shedding of the cuticle (moulting) is an important biological process for the survival and development of the parasite in the intermediate and definitive hosts. However, there are few studies on the cuticle alterations between different stages of this parasite. In this study, we observed the ultrastructural appearance and changes of the cuticle of the 2nd/3rd stage larvae (L2/L3) and the 3rd/4th stage larvae (L3/L4) using a scanning electron microscope. We also first divided L2/L3 into late L2 and early L3. The late L2 lacked alae, but possessed a pull-chain-like fissure. Irregular alignment of spherical particles on the cuticle were noted compared to the L3. Alae appeared in the early L3. The old cuticle turned into a thin filmlike structure which adhered to the new cuticle, and spherical particles were seen regularly arranged on the surface of this structure. Regular rectangular cavities were found on the surface of L3/L4. The caudal structure of L3/L4 was much larger than that of L3, but caudal inflation, such as seen in L4, was not observed. These results are the first to reveal the ultrastructural changes of the cuticle of A. cantonensis before and after moulting of L2/L3 and L3/L4.

  • The bleaching is one of the worst factors which leads to the damage of the human hair. The cuticle of the human hair is injured by the alkali that is one of the chief ingredients of a bleaching agent. The alkali component of the bleaching solution chemically reacts with human hair, reducing the tenacity and dissolving the cuticle layer. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of bleaching time and temperature on the physical properties and morphology. The results were as follows. 1. The stress-strain curves for human hair indicated the three distinct regions, such as Hookean region, Yield region and post-Yield region. The tenacity of hair is reduced gradually with an increase of bleaching time. Under these same conditions, elongation of the hair increased. 2. The greatest drop in tenacity for hair occured between $40^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$ of bleaching temperature. 3. Compared with the virgin hair, bleached hair showed a slower rate of weight reduction in the TGA thermogram. The rate decreased gradually as the bleaching time and temperature increased. 4. As the bleaching conditions reached time and temperature extremes, the human hair cuticle became more damaged. The cuticle layers seemed to have dissolved, as seen in the SEM photographs.
