  • Rel-time application programs have constraints which need to be met between media-data. It is client-leading synchronization that is absorbing variable transmission delay time and that is synchronizing by feedback control and palyout control. It is the important factor for playback rate and QoS if the buffer level is normal or not. This paper, The method of maintenance buffer normal state transmits in multimedia server by appling feedback of filtering function. And synchronization method is processing adaptive playout time for smooth presentation without cut-off while media frame is skip. When audio frame which is master media is in upper threshold buffer level we decrease play out time gradually, low threshold buffer level increase it slowly.

  • We have evaluated the suppression effect of atmospheric-turbulence-induced optical scintillation in terrestrial free-space optical (FSO) communication systems using a gain-saturated erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA). The variation of EDFA output signal power has been measured with different amounts of gain saturation and modulation indices of the optical input signal. From the measured results, we have found that the peak-to-peak power variation was decreased drastically below 2 kHz of modulation frequency, in both 3-dB and 6-dB gain compression cases. Then, the power spectral density (PSD) of optical scintillation has been calculated with Butterworth-type transfer function. In the calculation, different levels of atmospheric-turbulence-induced optical scintillation have been taken into account with different values of the Butterworth cut-off frequency. Finally, the suppression effect of optical scintillation has been estimated with the measured frequency response of the EDFA and the calculated PSD of the optical scintillation. From our estimated results, the atmospheric-turbulence-induced optical scintillation could be suppressed efficiently, as long as the EDFA were operated in a deeply gain-saturated region.

  • Sub-arrays of arbitrary conformal array have different geometric shape through steering direction, thus the beam patterns of sub-arrays are always non-uniform. In this paper, we apply the beam pattern synthesis method using convex optimization into the conformal array, and shows the improvement of uniformity of beam performance. The simulation is performed with the conformal array of cut-sphere shape. As a result, the standard deviation of 3 dB beamwidth in elevation is greatly reduced but the directivity index is also reduced. To alleviate this trade-off, we propose a convex optimization using a shading function.

  • In this paper, we developed a MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) measurement system using a knife-edge scanning method for infrared optics. It consists of an objective part to generate the target image, a collimator to make the beam parallel, and a detector to analyze the image. We used a tungsten filament as the light source and MCT (Mercury Cadmium Telluride) to detect the mid-infrared(wavelength $3-5{\mu}m$) image. We measured the MTF of a standard lens (f=5, material ZnSe) to test this instrument and compared the result to the theoretical value calculated using the ZEMAX commercial software. It was found that the difference was within ${\pm}0.035$ at the cut-off frequency (50 1/mm). Also, we calculated the A-type measurement uncertainty to check the reliability of the measurement. The result showed only 0.002 at 20 1/mm in spatial frequency, which means very little variation in the MTF measurement under the same conditions.

  • This is to analyze and compare the distribution of the liver function test and its abnormal rates of the preemployment screening for office workers in asymptomatic young age groups between female and male. Liver function test(SGPT and SGOT) of 8,184 young adults(2,633 in female and 5,551 in male ) were examined during the period from Jan.1, 1994 to Dec.31, 1994. The results were as follows; 1. Mean level of SGPT was $9.1{\pm}7.6(IU/L)$ in female, $21.0{\pm}27.9(IU/L)$ in male, and that of SGOT was $15.1{\pm}6.0(IU/L)$ in female, $20.5{\pm}26.5(IU/L)$ in male. There were significant differences(p<0.01) between female and male in both SGPT and 5G07 And also there was significant increasing trend(p<0.05) by age groups in male for SGPT, decreasing trend(p<0.01) in female for SGOT, 2. In the abnormal rates of liver function test by the level of cut-off value, there were significant differences up to twice between the lowest and the highest cut-off value in both female(0.4% vs 0.7%) and male(6.5% vs 32.4%) 3. Abnormal rate of SGPT was 0.4% in female and 6.3% in male, and that of SGOT was 0.2% in female and 1.2% in male with significant differences between female and male in both tests.

  • The aims of this study were first to determine the influence of vibration displacement amplitude $(200{\mu}m, 300{\mu}m peak-to-peak)$ at selected frequencies (40-200Hz) on a commonly observed but often undesired motor response elicited bylocal vibratory stimulation, the Tonic Vibration Reflex (TVR). Second, to determine the degree of synchronization of motor unit (MU) activity with vibratory stimuli. Vibration was applied to the distal tendons of the hand flexor muscles. Changes in root- mean-square electromyographic (EMG) activity of the finger and wrist flexor muscles were analyzed both as a function of their initial contraction level (0%, 10%, 20% of the maximal voluntarycontraction: MVC) and as a function of the vibration parameters. The results indicate that the TVR increased with the initial muscle contraction up to 10% MVC: The TVR increased with vibration frequency up to 100-150 Hz and decreases beyond; A significant increase of the TVR with vibration displacement amplitude was observed only for the wrist flexor muscle; MU synchronization at vibration frequency (VF) was found more often in the low frequency range $(f{\leq}100 Hz)$ and tended todecrease beyond; In the high frequency range $(f{\geq}120 Hz)$, MU activity at subharmonic frequency was predominant; The "cut-off" frequency of the synchronization with VF was neither affected by the vibration displacement amplitude nor initial muscle contraction level. The surface EMG turned out to be a useful means to analyze MU synchronization since it is noninvasive, and it can be easily used for analysis of different muscle contraction levels, while single MU technique might have some difficulties at high muscle contraction levels. Furthermore, these results indicate that high frequencyvibration (f>150 Hz) tends to induce less muscle/tendon stress and MU synchronization. Such remarks are of importance for the design of hand-held vibrating tools.ing tools.

  • The study aims to investigate the clinical utility of Bayley-III using US norm in Korea. A total of 98 preterm infants and 93 term infants were assessed with the K-Bayley-III. The performance pattern of preterm infants was analyzed with mixed design ANOVA which examined the differences of scaled scores and composite scores of Bayley-III between full term- and preterm- infant group and within preterm infants group. Then, We have investigated agreement between classifications of delay made using the BSID-II and Bayley-III. In addition, ROC plots were constructed to identify a Bayley-III cut-off score with optimum diagnostic utility in this sample. The results were as follows. (1) Preterm infants have significantly lower function levels in areas of 5 scaled scores and 3 developmental indexes compared with infants born at term. Significant differences among scores within preterm infant group were also found. (2) Bayley-III had the higher scores of the Mental Development Index and Psychomotor Developmental Index comparing to the scores of K-BSID-II, and had the lower rates of developmental delay. (3) All scales of Bayley-III, Cognitive, Language and Motor scale had the appropriate level of discrimination, but the cut-off composite scores of Bayley-III were adjusted 13~28 points higher than 69 for prediction of delay, as defined by the K-BSID-II. It explains the lower rates of developmental delay using the standard of two standard deviation. This study has provided empirical data to inform that we must careful when interpreting the score for clinical applications, identified the discriminating power, and proposed more appropriate cut-off scores. In addition, discussion about the sampling for making the Korean norm of Bayley-III was provided. It is preferable that infants in Korea should use our own validated norms. The standardization process to get Korean normative data must be performed carefully.

  • This study aims at developing Reminiscence Function Scale-Short Form(RFS-S) and verifying it as a supplemental diagnosis instrument to judge differences between normal and mild cognitive impairment and useful measure to rate effects of reminiscence therapy in the clinical field through internal consistency reliability and criterion validity. The study also aims at figuring out factors affection reminiscence function by figuring out demographic features of RFS-S. The research subjects were the control group of 60 normal people and experimental group of 58 people with mild cognitive impairment and both groups were over 65 years old. For internal consistency reliability(Cronbach's alpha) between questions was reliable with 0.63. Convergent validities of RFS-S with SRT and CDR-SB were 0.20(p<.05) and -0.25(p<.001), respectively, as both showed significant correlations. As a result of criterion validity to analyze AUROC, it was 0.68(p<.001) and less accurate. Its optimal cut-off points were 17 and sensitivity according to them was 0.59, and specificity was 0.72, respectively. However, reminiscence function according to demographic variables did not show any significant differences. Therefore, it is expected that RFS-S will be used as a supplemental diagnosis instrument with higher reliability and validity for discerning differences between normal and mild cognitive impairment and as a useful one to verify effects of reminiscence therapy.

  • β-Ga2O3 is a representative ultra-wide bandgap (UWBG) semiconductor that has attracted much attention for power device applications due to its wide-bandgap of 4.9 eV and high-breakdown voltage of 8 MV/cm. In addition, because solution growth is possible, it has advantages such as fast growth rate and lower production cost compared to SiC and GaN [1-2]. In this study, we have successfully grown Si-doped 10 mm thick Si-doped β-Ga2O3 single crystals by the EFG (Edge-defined Film-fed Growth) method. The growth direction and growth principal plane were set to [010] / (010), respectively, and the growth speed was 7~20 mm/h. The as-grown β-Ga2O3 single crystal was cut into various crystal planes (001, 100, ${\bar{2}}01$) and off-angles (1o, 3o, 4o), and then surface processed. After processed, the homoepitaxial layer was grown on the epi-ready substrate using the HVPE (Halide vapor phase epitaxy) method. The processed samples and the epi-layer grown samples were analyzed by XRD, AFM, OM, and Etching to compare the surface properties according to the crystal plane and off-angle.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate internal conical abutment sinking and fitness according to the loading condition. In this study, Alloden implant fixture and two abutment(conventional, FDI) systems were used. Each abutment was applied 1 time of finger force, 3 times of malleting force, 5 times of 20kg and extra several times to the fixture until the amount of abutment singking showed no change. Then, the length of abutment to fixture which was binding lightly with no pressure state was measured by Vernier caliper. After loading application, the length was remeasured and the amount of sinking was calculated. The implant was buried in unsaturated polyester (Epovia, Cray Valley Inc. Korea) for making a comparison between the change of length and fitness of abutment-fixture connection part. Then All samples were cross-sectioned with high speed precision cut-off(accutom-5, Struers, Denmark). Finally, The result were observed and analyzed using FE-SEM (field emission scanning electron microscopy).
