  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the key factors considered important by customers in the selection of a Korean restaurant through the use of conjoint analysis techniques. A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed over a 2-week period in October 2011, of which 354 were completed (88.5%). Statistical analysis was then carried out using the Windows 18.0 Statistics package. The research was based on the analysis of two target areas - daily meals and special purpose meals. Responses were measured by using Zaichkowsky's Personal Involvement Inventory (PII) and a 7-point Likert Scale. Overall it was found that in all areas of the results regarding the involvement related analyses, daily meals scored lower than special purpose meals. This implied that the choice of daily meals is more applicable to customers with a low level of involvement, whereas high-involvement customers were more likely to focus on special purpose meals. The analysis of high-involvement customers revealed that the quality of food, price, service quality and physical environment, in order of priority, were the most important factors in selecting a restaurant. The use of the optimum attribute combination revealed the following results: delicious food (0.601); friendly staff (0.170); clean restaurant (0.191); price of 20,000 won (-0.513). Furthermore, low-involvement customers considered the following factors as important when selecting a Korean restaurant: quality of food, followed by price, physical environment and service quality in that order. In this instance, the optimum attribute combination showed the following outcomes: tasty food (0.645); friendly staff (0.418); clean restaurant (0.365); price of 5,000 won (-0.847). These results indicated the importance of developing a marketing plan which was based specifically on a customer's involvement level, focusing on their main selection criteria when choosing a Korean restaurant.

  • Entering the period of Mass Customization, and with the help of the Digital Textile Printing technology, the purpose of this study is to propose two customer involved design process models, based on the Digital Textile Printing technology, and to compare their efficiencies and appropriateness with those of the existing design process model, which would lead us to discover the possibilities of Mass Customized design process. By the result obtained from the survey of 166 females in their twenties and thirties, the second Mass Customized design process model which gave most choices to prosumers was preferred the most, while the existing design process which gave no choice seemed to be preferred the least, and among the design elements of textile, color appeared to be the most significant influential factor in the preference of the clothing by the consumers. In summary, it appeared that every aspect of the society requires a shift in the process of the thought from Mass Production to Mass Customization at this point, and a guideline was made from the Mass Customized design process suggested in this study.

  • The choice of appropriate methodologies has always been a challenge. It is time to find obstacles when Extreme programming(XP) is adopted. In this paper, we invest status of adoption of XP methodology which is more popularized. We survey how the Values and the Practices of XP can be adopted to developer in terms of the usefulness and the easy of use of XP. As a result, it is regarded as a successful one in improving quality and timeliness through software development process. The Values and Practices, a basis of XP philosophy and its adoption, could be easily accomplished, but other elements - communication, feedback. collective ownership, pair programming, simple design and customer participation - which do not depend on technology could not be accomplished easily. To introduce XP easily in the creative and labor intensive software development fields, the managers and the educators have to make efforts to apply these Values and Practices based on humane characteristics as well as technical elements.

  • This study explores whether a NBD type of model can be applied to characterize the underlying frequency distribution of online consumer's visit behavior. In this study, the following two research questions are addressed: (1) How can we characterize the underlying distribution pattern(s) of the number of repeat i i visits to a site? (2) How can consumer's Internet usages and his/her demographics affect the average number of visits to the site? Through the empirical investigation, this study found that NBD models are directly applicable to characterize the underlying distribution of visit frequency on the Internet. Furthermore, this study addresses some managerial implications for understanding how site visits are determined. Especially this study highlights the relationship between repeated visits and the visitors' Internet Usages and demographics. The proposed models are estimated and validated by online panel data that covers more than 1000 different sites and has 800,000 observations.

  • The intensification of the competition among container terminals has led to important affect such as, decision making or aggressive intervention of customers for terminal operation. Therefore, in case of developed ports, the large transition of port operation is composed of the press of terminal customer than decision making of terminal manager. Overall port tariffs for using terminal is made out by the conference of terminal customers than the supreme headquarters of terminal operation, and the related investment of terminal has been made according to requisition or proposal of customers. Therefore, among decision making problems that shippers, shipping companies, and freight forwarder among decision making problems that shippers, shipping companies, and freight forwarder face, the choice of the container terminal is one of the most important problems. So, the decision making of the users seems to have a significant impact on the competitive power of container terminals. The main objective of this study is to design port marketing strategy for strengthening the competitive power of container terminals. The results of this study were found as follows: Firstly, port authority should establish user-oriented operation policy of terminal as the means of activating the opinion window, using terminal monitoring system(TMS). Secondly, terminal planning and development of government should be made to minimize the lead time, to induce the civil capital and to utilize the economies of scale. Thirdly, port authority needs to endeavor to analyze the information of competing foreign terminals as well to promote the concentrated marketing for the terminal on the users, to train the expert and to develop the new port charge system. Fourthly, to improve the competitive power of the container terminal, Port Authority should optimize the subsystems related to port marketing, far more these systems should be joined organically to work effectively. • This study aims to stratify consumer market evaluation items from the Consumer Decision Journey(CDJ) perspective and understand the relationship between laws/systems and consumer orientation through the Korea Consumer Agency's '19 Korea Consumer Markets Evaluation Indicators. This study divided consumer market evaluation items into the selection comparison stage, selection decision stage, and post-purchase experience stage. And present a model that stratified the relationship with consumer orientation of laws/systems and verified using the CDJ model's experience as a control variable. Studies have shown that the relationship between the consumer market evaluation index that evaluates consumer orientation can be stratified according to the consumer decision-making stage and positively affects the relationship with consumer orientation of laws/systems. In addition, the impact of consumer market evaluation variables (reliability, and price) on the consumer orientation of laws/systems was different depending on the presence or absence of consumer damage experience.
