This paper proposes a new zero-current switching (ZCS) pulse-width modulation (PWM) switch cell that has no additional conduction loss of the main switch. In this cell, the main switch and the auxiliary switch turn on and turn off under zero current condition. The diodes commutate softly and the reverse recovery problems are alleviated. The conduction loss and the current stress of the main switch are minimized, since the resonating current stress of the main switch are minimized, since the resonating current for the soft switching does not flow through the main switch. Based on the proposed ZCS PWM switch cell, a new family of DC to DC PWM converters is derived. The new family of ZCS PWM converters is suitable for the high power applications employing IGBTs. Among the new family of DC to DB PWM converters, a boost converter was taken as an example and has been analyzed. Design guidelines with a design example are described and verified by experimental results from the 2.5 kW prototype converter operating at 40 kHz.

It is important to consider the life of battery and low power operation for various wireless communications. Thus, Analog current-mode signal processing with SI circuit has been taken notice of in designing the LSI for wireless communications. However, in current mode signal processsing, current memory circuit has a problem called clock-feedthrough. In this paper, we examine the connection of CMOS switch that is the common solution of clock-feedthrough and calculate the relation of width between CMOS switch for design methodology for improvement of current memory. As a result of simulation, when the width of memory MOS is 20um, ratio of input current and bias current is 0.3, the width relation in CMOS switch is obtained with $W_{Mp}=5.62W_{Mn}+1.6$, for the nMOS width of 2~6um in CMOS switch. And from the same simulation condition, it is obtained with $W_{Mp}=2.05W_{Mn}+23$ for the nMOS width of 6~10um in CMOS switch. Then the defined width relation of MOS transistor will be useful guidance in design for improvement of current memory.

This paper analyses the harmonic pollution to power grids caused by several high-power rectifiers, summarizes the requirements for rectifiers in suppressing grid-side current harmonics and optimizes a new-type of current source PWM rectifier with a hybrid switch. The rectifier with a hybrid switch boasts significant current characteristics and cost advantages in the high-power area. To further enhance the working frequency of the current source rectifier with a hybrid switch for suppressing grid-side harmonics and reducing the inductance size, this paper proposes an optimal control strategy based on space vector. It also verifies that the optimal control strategy based on space vector can reduce the total harmonic distortion of the grid-side current of the rectifier with a hybrid switch via circuit simulation and experimental results.
This paper proposes a new zero-current transition (ZCT) pulse-width modulation (PWM) switch cell that overcomes the limitations of the conventional ZCT converters. The proposed ZCT cell provides zero-current-switching (ZCS) condition for the main switch and the auxiliary switch. The conduction loss and current stress of the main switch are minimized, since the circulating current for the soft switching does not flow through the main switch. The proposed ZCT PWM switch cell is suitable for the high power applications employing IGBTs. Design guidelines with a design example are described and verified by experimental results from the 1 kW prototype boost converter operating at 70kHz.
A ZCT(Zero Current Transition) PWM(Pulse-Width-Modulation) boost converter using parallel MOSFET switch is proposed in this paper. The IGBT(main switch) of the proposed converter is always turned on with zero current switching and turned off with zero current/zero voltage switching. The MOSFET(auxiliary switch) is also operates with soft switching condition. In addtion to, the proposed converter eliminates the reverse recovery current of the freewheeling diode by adding the resonant inductor, Lr, in series with the main switch. Therefore, the turn on/turn off switching losses of switches are minimized and the conduction losses by using IGBT switch are reduced. In addition to, using parallel MOSFET switch overcomes the switching frequency limitation occurred by current tail. As mentioned above, the characteristics are verified through experimental results.
Current signal square based on switch current is presented in this article. This is the new technique that can design current signal square circuit by using switch-current memory cell, current square and sample and hold technique, which have been presented by the general switch-current. This principle which is present have the good electrical characteristics such as the low input impedance, high output impedance and high frequency response. The system can also operate in the audio frequency range to the high frequency current signal. The system application of this technique can be apply to the current signal multiplier by quarter square technique. The experimental results agree well with the theory as high accuracy and linearity.

Low power superconducting persistent current switch(PCS) for the superconducting magnet systems in the persistent mode was developed and its experimental results were analyzed when the system was charged or discharged. The multifilament NbTi wire with Cu matrix was used for the PCS. The constructed NbTi superconducting switch with superconducting magnet system operated successfully. It also operated on-off switching action with good stabilization. The maximum operating current in persistent mode was 60A (at 1T). In persistent current mode, the decay of the persistent current at 60A was observed. Its decay was 3.55% in 60 min. It is possible to make the persistent current switch with the better decaying of persistent current if some problems for joint resistance are solved.
This paper proposes a model-based optimal control algorithm for the clamp switch of a zero-voltage switching (ZVS) bidirectional DC-DC converter. The bidirectional DC-DC converter (BDC) can accomplish the ZVS operation using the clamp switch. The minimum current for the ZVS operation is maintained, and the inductor current is separated from the input and output voltages by the clamp switch in this topology. The clamp switch can decrease the inductor current ripple, switching loss, and conduction loss of the system. Therefore, the optimal control of the clamp switch is significant to improve the efficiency of the system. This paper proposes a model-based optimal control algorithm using phase shift in a micro-controller unit. The proposed control algorithm is demonstrated by the results of PSIM simulations and an experiment conducted in a 1-kW ZVS BDC system.
