  • In this paper, we develop a nonparametric Bayesian methodology of estimating an unknown distribution function F at the given survival time with current status data under the assumption of Dirichlet process prior on F. We compare our algorithm with the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator through application to simulated data and real data.

  • When modeling event times in biomedical studies, the outcome might be incompletely observed. In this paper, we assume that the outcome is recorded as current status failure time data. Despite well-developed literature the routine practical use of many current status data modeling methods remains infrequent due to the lack of specialized statistical software, the difficulty to assess model goodness-of-fit, as well as the possible loss of information caused by covariate grouping or discretization. We propose a model based on pseudo-observations that is convenient to implement and that allows for flexibility in the choice of the outcome. Parameter estimates are obtained based on generalized estimating equations. Examples from studies in bile duct hyperplasia and breast cancer in conjunction with simulated data illustrate the practical advantages of this model.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this survey was to investigate the health status (food intake, exercise, smoking, drinking, stress, social support) of North Korean Refugees in Gwangju metropolitan city and Jeonnam province. Method : Data were collected by self-reported questionnaire from 61 North Korean Refugees from March 20 to April 20, 2005. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics using SPSS win 12.0 programs. Results: In current health status, 42.7% of the subjects were in poor health. In exercise status, 32.8% of the subjects practiced exercise regular basis but only 13.1% did it 3-4 times per week. In smoking status, 26.2% of the subjects were current smokers and 81% were nicotine dependent. In drinking status, 37.7% of the subjects were current drinkers, 48% were problematic and 17% were alcohol dependent. In stress status, 42.7% of the subjects were in psycho-emotional, 49.2% in physical and 19.6% in behavioral stress. The mean score of social support was 24 out of 54 points showing a little low relatively. Conclusion : These findings showed that the health conditions of Saeteomins were poor relatively. Therefore, health care programs should be started for these Saeteomins in order to improve their health status.

  • The entire land of Southern Iran faces problems arising out of various types of land degradation of which vegetation degradation forms one of the major types. The present work introduces a model developed for assessing the current status of hazard of vegetation degradation using Geographic Information System (GIS). This kind of assessment differs from those assessments based on vulnerability or potential hazard assessments. The Sadra watershed which covers the upper reaches of Marharlu basin, Fars Province, has been chosen for a hazard assessment of this type of degradation. The different kinds of data for indicators of current status of vegetation degradation were gathered from collecting of field data and also records of the governmental offices of Iran. Taking into consideration three indicators of current status of vegetation degradation the model identifies areas with different hazard classes. By fixing the thresholds of severity classes of the three indicators including per cent of vegetation cover, biomass production and ratio of actual biomass to potential biomass production, a hazard map for each indicator was first prepared in GIS. The final hazard map of current status of vegetation degradation was prepared by intersecting three hazards in the GIS. Results show areas under severe hazard class have been found to be widespread (89 %) while areas under moderate and very severe hazard classes have been found less extensive in the Sadra watershed. The preparation of hazard maps based on the GIS analysis of these indicators will be helpful for prioritizing the areas to initiate remedial measures.

  • A data repository is being used as a tool for sharing and preserving research data. This study was conducted to investigate the current status of data repositories and to propose methods for obtaining Coretrustseal certification. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the current status of data repositories in the field of Geoscience was investigated at re3data.org, and 10 best practices that obtained Coretrustseal certification were analyzed among the repositories. First, as a result of identifying the current status of repositories, the United States, Germany, and Canada accounted for 66% of the total repositories by country, and in the case of CTS certification, the proportion of the United States, Europe, and Germany was 58%. Next, as a way to secure CTS certification, necessary details and requirements in terms of data policy, organizational infrastructure, and technical infrastructure were presented. It is hoped that the results of this study will be helpful in establishing and operating domestic data repositories and obtaining CTS certification.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse consumer injury and to find current status of industrial consumer injury in the field of consumer product. Also the subject under analysis is to develop a design guidance for the consumer product safety. we used consulting data of Korea Consumer Protection Board, Korea Product Liability Consulting Center and referred to statistic data of Korea National Statistical Office. Consumer injury data of Korea is insufficient comparing with leading industrialized nations. Therefore, we categorized hazard factors based on current injury data in Korea instead of analysing injury data statistically. And we analyse the hazard factors using the analytic hierarchy process in this study. Through the results, we defined the Consumer Injury Index(CII) to develop a design guidance for the consumer product safety.

  • The purposes of this study were to seek beauty industry parts' current social insurance admission status. To achieve the purposes, questionnaire was distributed to a total of 470 beauty artists and data were analyzed by statistical analysis. The result of study proposed that hairdresser showed the highest awareness and field of nail art showed the lowest awareness in social insurance admission status. Social insurance admission status shows that beauty artists in hair field had the most applicants of national pension, health insurance, workers' compensation insurance and beauty artists of skin field had the highest desire for social insurance application. This study hopes to be used as base line data of social insurance applicants' accurate status and application.

  • This study was started with the aim of grasping the current status of research data management of forestry engineering researchers. In order to achieve the research purpose, the survey was conducted using a tool called DAF (Data Asset Framework). DAF is an investigative tool that provides a means to identify, position, describe and evaluate how the agency manages research data. Using this DAF, the research data management status was analyzed for researchers in the field of forestry engineering at the National Institute of Forest Science. As a result of analysis, the current status and problems of the five categories such as the method and type of research data creation, sharing, storage, preservation, and reuse were identified, and solutions were presented in relation to the problems. This study is a basic investigation using a systematic tool such as DAF, and can be used as a reference for analyzing the current status and problems of research data when designing RDM system in a specific field.

  • Purpose: In the course of the domestic environmental impact assessment, the current status survey was improperly conducted, and the issue of false and inaccurate environmental impact assessment reports has been raised several times recently through media reports. Research design, data and methodology: There is a continuous demand for improvement measures for the current status measurement method, such as having difficulties in securing a normal measurement date in consideration of equipment operation and rainfall days in the field. Results: In addition, in order to grasp the general air quality status of the evaluation target area, it is necessary to check the various current status concentrations by season and time series per year. However, there is a problem that is currently being carried out based on limited results such as measurement for 1 day or 3 days. Conclusions: Therefore, in this study, based on the national atmospheric measurement network, an inverse distance weighted (IDW) interpolation method was applied to calculate the current state concentration. This study suggested a method to use it in preparing the air quality item in the environmental impact assessment report.

  • In order to characterize the current status and distribution of reptiles currently inhabiting the Republic of Korea, the results of survey data were analyzed in this study. The results of this analysis showed that the reptiles were distributed into two orders, seven families, and 21 species, with the exception of six marine reptiles, including Dermochelys coriacea schlegelii, Chelonia mydas japonica, Caretta caretta, Hydrophis melanocephalus, Hydrophis cyanocinctus, and Pelamis platrrus. Also, the taxonomic revisions of several species were suggested, although this would be ill-advised before further studies can be conducted regarding the current status of marine reptiles in the region.
