  • The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between the conspicuous consumption of clothing and status inconsistency. For this study, two kinds of guestionnaires were conducted to collect data for the conspicuous consumption variables of clothing and status inconsistency variables. Status inconsistency was measured by educational levels and occupational levels of married women and their husbands, the family′s total income. Status inconsistency was defined by the inconsistency among married women′s and their husband′s educational levels, family′s total income, their husband′s occupational levels. In order to investigate status inconsistency effects, when their investment (education0 are lower than their rewards (income or occupation) they are classified as over-rewarded inconsistency, while their investments is higher than their rewards, as under-rewarded inconsistency, and their investments are equal to their rewards, as consistency. The conspicuous consumption variables in clothing were consisted of seven variables; Brand-oriented, Fashion-oriented, Leisure-showing, Leisure-oriented purchase of clothing and Excessive expenditure to purchase of clothing, purchase of Imitation clothing in well-known brand and purchase of Expensive clothing from abroad. Data were obtained fro m436 housewives living in Kwang-ju are a and analyzed by F-test, Pearson′s Correlation and Frequency. The results of this study were follow; When the subjects were divided into three group according to their status inconsistency type, there were significant differences (P<.05 or P<.01) among groups of conspicuous consumption variables in clothing. The groups of "under pivileged" status inconsistency type and "over rewarded" status inconsistency type were tend to show conspicuous consumption in clothing than other type of status inconsistency groups.

  • In vitro shoot regeneration of gladiolus in three different culture systems, viz., semi-solid agar (AS), membrane raft (MR), and duroplast foam liquid (DF) cultures was evaluated following the kinetics of shoot multiplication and hyperhydricity at optimized growth regulator combinations. Compared to the AS system, matrixsupported liquid cultures enhanced shoot multiplication. The peak of shoot multiplication rate was attained at 18 days of incubation in the MR and DF systems, whereas the maximum rate in the AS system was attained at 21 days. An early decline in acceleration trend was observed in liquid cultures than the AS culture. The hyperhydric status of the regenerated shoots in the different culture systems was assessed in terms of stomatal attributes and antioxidative status. Stomatal behavior appeared to be normal in the AS and MR systems. However, structural anomaly of stomata such as large, round shaped guard cells with damage in bordering regions of stomatal pores was pronounced in the DF system along with a relatively higher $K^+$ ion concentration than in the AS and MR systems. Antioxidative status of regenerated shoots was comparable in the AS and MR systems, while a higher incidence of oxidative damages of lipid membrane as evidenced from malondialdehyde and ascorbate content was observed in the DF system. Higher oxidative stress in the DF system was also apparent by elevated activities of superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase, and catalase. Among the three culture systems, liquid culture with MR resulted in maximum shoot multiplication with little or no symptoms of hyperhydricity. Shoots in the DF system were more prone to hyperhydricity than those in the AS and MR systems. The use of matrix support such as membrane raft as an interface between liquid medium and propagating tissue could be an effective means for rapid and efficient mass propagation with little or no symptoms of hyperhydricity.

  • This research analyzes how our people use the social position and status symbolism of the dress in focus of the Chosun Dynasty Period by analysis data of traditional folktale. This research material was analyzed social position and status symbolism of the dress with basis on Korean Oral Literature grand volumes of 82 published by The Academy of Korean Studies and whole volumes of 7 of Korean Literature Traditional , Folktale written by Kimhyunrwong. The methods of study is that first, selected part of describing social position and status of dress from the traditional Korean folktale. Second, summmarized things classified such as clothes, shape of hair and belt. Third, analyzed social position and status of dress with basis on symbol theory to be pre-studied. As a result, 1 can get the next conclusion. First, in case of the dress symbolism of social position and status, we classify as class. occupation, surreal person. Second, the changes of the social position and status showed upward position or downward position, and occupation change. Third, symbolization of position disguise was classified disguise of social position, sex, occupation.

  • This thesis provided basic data of the domestic leggings industry. For the purpose of comparative analysis, the sales status and consumer preference status of domestic leggings brands were selected, and the three companies, X*xymix, A*dar, and M*laware, which occupy the top positions by domestic leggings brand rankings Therefore, from 2018 to 2020, the market size of leggings items is identified with reference to the sales status and consumer preference status data, and the status of consumer preference is analyzed. As a result of the survey analysis, X*xymix, A*dar, and M*laware, which rank high in consumer preference, operate a separate men's leggings line from leggings targeting young women who mainly focus on yoga, pilates, and fitness exercises. As the age increased, the demand for leggings expanded to the middle-aged. Therefore, it is believed that the segmentation of leggings is made according to the diversifying types of exercise, and as the age group in demand for leggings is expanded, continuous research on market segmentation for aqua leggings necessary for aqua exercise that can exercise without straining the body.

  • In ancient times, hairstyle varies according to tribes. Because it is a social product that depends on status, class, and gender within the tribes, research on the hairstyle is an important source for studying the culture of the tribes. The purpose of this study is to analyze hairstyle of the Scythians and to understand the culture of the Scythians. Furthermore, the purpose is to identify the ethnic group based on this research. And it is intended to use the results as a comprehensive resource for research on the origins of Korean ancient costumes. As a research method, literature study and artifact analysis were performed concurrently. Data for artifact analysis were taken directly from the Eremitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, where the researcher visited for this study. The conclusions of this study are as follows: Hairstyle of the Scythians were classified into three types: straight hair, braided hair, and tied hair depending on social status, age, and region. Straight hair was usually seen with kings, royalty, and warriors, and the hair length varied according to their status. Braid hair appears by a depiction of an old man and young Scythians. Tied hair was observed in the warrior. The beard was divided into chin-beard and mustache. Long chin-beards and mustaches were mostly observed in the ruling classes, while medium length chin-beards and short mustaches were considered the most common form of beard because they appeared in most classes. The young Scythians, regardless of their status, had no beard.

  • Vaccines, especially for viruses, have been produced from egg-based manufacturing process. The method is simple and easy to set up the manufacturing process. However, the method has many problems in quality control, limit of manufacturing capacity, and ethical issues. Over the last decade, an alternative method, which manufactures vaccines using cell culture-based system, has received great attention to overcome the problems in egg-based vaccine production. This article examines current status and perspectives of cell culture-based vaccine production.

  • This study analyzes the symbolism of costume in the genre paintings of Yoon Bok Shin, the great artist of Korea in eighteenth century, based on the symbolic interaction theory. We classify the symbolic character into tow categories, the symbolism of social status and position as a social factor, and erotic symbol as a sexual factor. The symbolism of the social status and position include the sex, age, class, occupation, and diginity. From the costume In the paintings, the symbolic character of the clothing in the social and sexual contexts can be visualized.
