현대 패션에서 헤어스타일 지니는 의미 -젠더와 문화정치적 관점을 중심으로 - (The Meaning of Hair Style in Modern Fashion Design -In aspects of gender and cultural/political standpoint-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the hair in aspects of gender and cultural/political ideology, and to confirm the meanings of hair style in modem fashion. There are three zones of social significance such as head hair, facial hair, and body hair, and each of theses zones has both gender and ideological significance. In aspects of gender, opposite sexes have opposite hair norms. And, in sociocultural standpoint, hair is a political symbol of the main protest movements in culture. The contemporary hair styles in fashion design mean that the 'paying' with gender identity, the reflection of changing sexuality, the non-politicism, the fragmentation of style, and the naturalness.

Analysis of Sino-American Culture in Disney Animation Mulan

  • This article takes Disney animation as the research object to analyze the Chinese and American culture in the animation. The first part introduces the background of the animation. The theme of the animation comes from the long-standing narrative folk song Mulan Ci during the Southern and Northern Dynasties of China, and it introduces the parallel montage of animation narrative. The second part narrates the Chinese cultural elements in Mulan, and expounds on Disney's use and blending of Chinese cultural elements from three aspects of ink painting effect, national costumes and Confucianism. From the perspective of Western culture, the third part analyzes how to integrate Western thought and characteristics, and contrast with Chinese culture in Mulan from three aspects: Mushu, character and hierarchy.

Cross-Cultural Management in China

  • Purpose - This paper discusses cross-cultural management (CCM) in China and how its business students get prepared by university cross-cultural management courses for an international market. Research design, data, and methodology - It was therefore decided to do an online content analysis looking at CCM courses offered by a number of Chinese universities first, and second to conduct a quantitative survey on CCM courses as well as topics among Chinese undergraduate business students at a large Eastern Chinese university. Results - From fundamental aspects, seven Chinese cultural standards emerge which highly influence the behaviour of the Chinese. There is a tendency to imply the integration of not only local but also cross cultural issues in academic management courses. Besides Hong Kong, there are currently 17 Chinese universities and schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) that explicitly requires cross-cultural management competencies in undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. In addition, the study confirmed that two-third of the sample (Chinese undergraduate business students) had taken cross-cultural management courses. Conclusions - The results of this research have made it clear that Chinese universities and schools are aware of the importance of cross-cultural management competencies.

한국 방송 콘텐츠 수출에 영향을 주는 문화적 차이에 대한 실증 연구 (The Impact of Cultural Differences Upon the Export of Korean Broadcasting Contents : An Empirical Approach)

  • We suggest that cultural differences among nations should have a significant impact upon the exports of Korean broadcasting contents due to the fact that production and consumption of the contents are influenced by their own cultural aspects. Based on Hofstede's cultural dimensions frequently cited in the literature, we perform empirical analysis to identify the impact of cultural dimensions upon the export amounts by investigating four-year export data of Korean broadcasting industry. In our research model, Hofstede's cultural dimensions and GDP per capita are independent variables and a genre of broadcasting contents is used as a moderating variable. We find in our analysis that three cultural dimensions such as individualism, uncertainty avoidance, masculinity significantly affect the export amount but do not find the impact of power distance.

어린이 영어 문화교육에 관한 분석 (Analysis of Culture Education in Childhood English)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 한국 초등학교 영어 교육에서 문화 요소의 효율적 지도방법을 안내하고자 한다. 논문의 목적을 위해서 초등영어 문화교육에 관한 많은 연구들을 분석하였다. 국제화 시대에 의사소통을 위한 영어교육은 다양한 타 문화에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 한국 초등학교 학생들은 영어권 나라의 문화에 노출되거나 접근하는데 어려움이 있다. 초등영어 문화교육이 잘 이루어지지 못하는 데는 다음과 같은 이유가 있다. 첫째, 영어교사들이 목표 문화에 대한 자신감이 없고 자신들 스스로 문화교육을 위한 충분한 경험과 지식이 없다고 간주한다. 영어교사들 역시 문화요소에 대해 배우지 못했고 문화요소가 강조되지 않았었다. 둘째, 교과서와 교사용 지도서에 문화 관련된 적절한 교수내용이 없다. 그러므로 필수적인 문화 요소는 영어교육 전문가들에 의해서 채택되고 교과서와 교사용 지도서에 수록되어야 한다. 교과서와 교사용 지도서는 체계적으로 연관성을 가져야 한다. 초등 영어 교사들은 다양한 문화를 경험하고 이해할 수 있는 기회를 늘려야 할 것으로 본다. 언어는 문화의 일부이고 문화는 언어의 일부이다. 제 2언어 습득은 제 2문화 습득이기도 하다. 초등 영어 교과서에서 문화요소를 심도 있게 다루고 문화에 대한 이해와 경험을 갖춘 교사가 양성 되었을 때 진정한 의사소통을 위한 영어교육이 이루어 질 수 있다.

  • A view of cultural heritage as a form of capital considers the long term, dynamic, evolutionary, inter-temporal and inter-generational aspects of cultural heritage. The principles of sustainability provide a basis on the broader issue of culture in economic development. They might be capable of specifying a pattern of development that is "culturally sustainable" in the same way as somewhat similar set of criteria derived for the natural world, the criteria for defining ecologically and environmentally sustainable development. Thus we might accept the principles of material and non-material advancement, intergenerational and intra-generational equity, the maintenance of cultural diversity, the precautionary principle, and the recognition of system interdependence as benchmarks in assessing a cultural development process.

  • The stepping stone of the study is provided through understanding the transformation of the cultural value with the paradigm shift at the turning point of late 20th century and examining the cultural relationaship between the East and the West. By researching the oriental and occidental culture in terms of the origin formation relation and differences which should be divided into broad branches that is natural ideological formative and spatial aspects and so forth. This paper makes it possible to understand the fundamental differences and relativities between two divergent cultures by way of analyzing the architecture in plastic and cognitive aspects to residential space. this study intends to elucidate common traits of korean traditional architecture and that of the Occident and the discrepancies of their attitudes toward nature and space. In Western civilization they used to consider architecture as a physical organization while the oriental people consider it a object what is so of itself. The former concentrated on the functional rationality of scientific technology with the uncontextual propensity which does not consider natural environment the latter could reach the naturalness more harmonious to environment. What counts in the upcoming age of coexistence of Globalism that emphasizes the worlds universality and Nationalism that sticks to local cultural characteristics is to establish the new value system and identity based upon natural order and organic quality. As a result we could recognize the organic quality as a cosmic order could be a valid means to achieve the globalization of our culture through the compatibility between gap and common ground of both cultural sphere.

  • 1970년대의 해기사들의 선박의 안전에 대한 비판과 연구에서 문제를 제기한 후, 오늘날 국제해사기구(IMO)를 비롯하여 선박안전 평가 방법의 개발과 소개가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 선박안전의 상당부분이 인적과실에 기인하여 이에 대한 고려 요구가 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 선박안전평가 방법의 개요를 살피고 인적과실의 구조 인식을 통한 문화적, 교육적 영향인자에 대해 고찰함으로써 선박안전성 제고에 기여하고자 한다.

  • It is fortunate to glance at the old fabric style through the fabrics found in the Buddhist statues. There fore these fabrics deserve more attention and significance among the various remains found in the Buddhist Statues and should be taken carc of as the cultural inheritance. Concepts in the traditional fabrics could be viewed in three different aspects, In the first, the five primary elemental conception(五方思想) deeply rooted as the part of life style in old time appeared in five dircctional colors of the costumes whicb in turn connected to the traditional thought of order and harmony with nature. The second is the formal aspect. As can be seen in the fabrics found in the Buddhist statue, religious symbol was shaped into spiritual representation. The third is the aspect of the textile motifs, where wealth and preference for son were symbolized and even a utopia they dreamed for was appeared in the motif. Considering these conceptual aspects, the traditional textiles could be understood in line with the other cultural activity and should be taken more attention since the idea embeddcd in the textiles or colthes reveal the essential thoughts in old time.

  • We have known that ethno-mathematics is a field of a study that emphasizes the socio-cultural environment in which a person "does" mathematics as stated by D'Ambrosio(Ethno mathematics and its Place in the History and Pedagogy of Mathematics, 1985). Measurement is an important mathematical topic, which leads students to relate math to the eal-world applications, particularly with socio-cultural aspects. The purpose of this article is to review the history of the measurement system in Korea briefly and to adapt the measurement system into real-world problems so that children acquire measurement knowledge in the most natural way.
