1920-30년대 프랑스 모더니즘 정원과 큐비즘 (A Study on the French Modernist Garden of the 1920-30s and Cubisum)

  • The french modernist garden of the 1920-30s, significant when studying the history of gardens, has been disregarded in landscape architecture studies. This study aims to review and examine the main characteristics of the French modernist garden in relation to Cubism. In addition this study seeks to recover an unnoticed phase from landscape architecture history and lies in a same thread with studies on the theory of Modernism in landscape architecture. The french modernist garden is closely connected with Cubism, as Cubist garden is a popular synonym for the French modernist garden. used simplified and geometrical forms like Cubist painters. In spacial composition, the French modernist garden offered images of various views in one space, much like the Cubist paintings which showed various aspects of an object simultaneously on the canvas. In the French modernist garden, gorgeous colors and various textures were emphasized, much like the synthetic Cubism. Moreover, in the history of landscape architecture, the state of the French modernist garden which tried to change the traditional gardens into a space more suited to the new life style, is similar to that of Cubism as an art movement in the history of art of the early 20th century.

Predicting Soil Chemical Properties with Regression Rules from Visible-near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy

  • This study investigates the prediction of soil chemical properties (organic matter (OM), pH, Ca, Mg, K, Na, total acidity, cation exchange capacity (CEC)) on 688 Korean soil samples using the visible-near infrared reflectance (VIS-NIR) spectroscopy. Reflectance from the visible to near-infrared spectrum (350 to 2500 nm) was acquired using the ASD Field Spec Pro. A total of 688 soil samples from 168 soil profiles were collected from 2009 to 2011. The spectra were resampled to 10 nm spacing and converted to the 1st derivative of absorbance (log (1/R)), which was used for predicting soil chemical properties. Principal components analysis (PCA), partial least squares regression (PLSR) and regression rules model (Cubist) were applied to predict soil chemical properties. The regression rules model (Cubist) showed the best results among these, with lower error on the calibration data. For quantitatively determining OM, total acidity, CEC, a VIS-NIR spectroscopy could be used as a routine method if the estimation quality is more improved.

Machine learning modeling of irradiation embrittlement in low alloy steel of nuclear power plants

  • In this study, machine learning (ML) techniques were used to model surveillance test data of nuclear power plants from an international database of the ASTM E10.02 committee. Regression modeling was conducted using various techniques, including Cubist, XGBoost, and a support vector machine. The root mean square deviation of each ML model for the baseline dataset was less than that of the ASTM E900-15 nonlinear regression model. With respect to the interpolation, the ML methods provided excellent predictions with relatively few computations when applied to the given data range. The effect of the explanatory variables on the transition temperature shift (TTS) for the ML methods was analyzed, and the trends were slightly different from those for the ASTM E900-15 model. ML methods showed some weakness in the extrapolation of the fluence in comparison to the ASTM E900-15, while the Cubist method achieved an extrapolation to a certain extent. To achieve a more reliable prediction of the TTS, it was confirmed that advanced techniques should be considered for extrapolation when applying ML modeling.

머신러닝을 이용한 미숙아의 재원일수 예측 융복합 연구 (Convergence study to predict length of stay in premature infants using machine learning)

  • 본 연구는 미숙아의 재원일수 예측 모형을 머신러닝 기법을 통해 개발하기 위해 수행 되었다. 모형 개발을 위해 질병관리본부에서 수집한 퇴원손상심층조사 자료의 2011년부터 2016년까지 퇴원한 미숙아 6,149건을 이용하였다. 입원 초기 신경망 모형은 설명력(R2)이 0.75로 다른 모형에 비해 우수 하였다. 입원 초기 변수에 임상진단을 CCS(Clinical class ification software)로 변환하여 추가 투입한 모형은 큐비스트(Cubist) 모형의 설명력(R2)이 0.81로 랜덤 포레스트(Random Forests), 그라디언트 부스트(Gradient boost), 신경망(neural network), 벌점화 회귀(Penalty regression) 모형에 비해 성능이 우수 하였다. 본 연구는 전국단위 데이터를 이용한 미숙아의 재원일수 예측 모형을 머신러닝을 통해 제시하고 그 활용 가능성을 확인하였다. 하지만 임상정보, 부모정보 등 데이터의 한계로 향후 성능 향상을 위한 추가 연구가 필요하다.

Digital mapping of soil carbon stock in Jeolla province using cubist model

  • Assessment of soil carbon stock is essential for climate change mitigation and soil fertility. The digital soil mapping (DSM) is well known as a general technique to estimate the soil carbon stocks and upgrade previous soil maps. The aim of this study is to calculate the soil carbon stock in the top soil layer (0 to 30 cm) in Jeolla Province of South Korea using the DSM technique. To predict spatial carbon stock, we used Cubist, which a data-mining algorithm model base on tree regression. Soil samples (130 in total) were collected from three depths (0 to 10 cm, 10 to 20 cm, 20 to 30 cm) considering spatial distribution in Jeolla Province. These data were randomly divided into two sets for model calibration (70%) and validation (30%). The results showed that clay content, topographic wetness index (TWI), and digital elevation model (DEM) were the most important environmental covariate predictors of soil carbon stock. The predicted average soil carbon density was 3.88 kg·m-2. The R2 value representing the model's performance was 0.6, which was relatively high compared to a previous study. The total soil carbon stocks at a depth of 0 to 30 cm in Jeolla Province were estimated to be about 81 megatons.

큐비즘에 관한 연구 - 베르그송 철학과 동시성 개념을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Cubism - In it's relation to Bergsonian Philosophy and Simultaneity -)

  • 프랑스의 벨 에포크는 파리를 중심으로 문예활동이 가장 활발하던 시기이다. 큐비즘도 그러한 분위기 속에서 태어났으며 19세기말과 20세기초의 모든 분야에서 일어났던 패러다임의 변화를 반영하는 현상이다. 큐비즘 형성의 배경을 다양한 각도에서 조명할 수 있겠으나 미술사가들이 빼놓지 않고 언급하는 것이 베르그송의 철학이다. 그러나 그의 사상이 큐비즘 화가들에게 미친 영향력을 가늠하기는 쉽지 않지만 그들에게 수용된 베르그송의 영향력은 커다란 편차가 있는 것으로 보인다. 그의 철학은 피카소나 브라크에게는 자신들의 예술적 영감을 고양시켜줄 수 있는 시대정신의 역할을 하였고 글레즈나메셍제와 같은 화가들에게는 큐비즘의 이론을 공고히 할 수 있는 사상적 배경의 역할을 하였다. 큐비즘의 이론에 대한 베르그송의 사상의 영향을 이야기 할 때 등장하는 중요 개념이 동시성이다. 동시성은 오브제에 대한 복수적 시각의 공간적으로 재구성하는 것과 의식 속에서 공존하고 있는 시간적 흐름의 내용을 공간적으로 재배치하는 두 측면이 있는데 사실 어떤 경우도 베르그송의 이론과 정확히 일치하지는 않는다. 사실 베르그송은 큐비즘의 예술관에 특별한 관심을 보이지는 않았다. 큐비즘의 이론과 베르그송 철학과의 관계는 이론적 틀의 제공자의 의도보다는 수용자의 의지가 결정적이지만 글레즈나 메셍제의 경우에는 자의적 해석의 위험에도 불구하고 그들의 이론화 작업에서 베르그송의 철학은 중심적 역할을 하였다. 사상과 예술의 역사는 종종 오해가 엄밀한 이해보다 더 큰 영감과 창조성의 원천이기도 했으며 양자의 관계에는 이러한 두 가지 측면이 공존하고 있다.성에 대한 실험참가자의 선호경향에는 큰 편차가 보였고 군집분석을 통해 몇 그룹으로 세분화할 수 있었다. 그러나 팔이라는 조형요소의 유무에 따라 민감한 반응을 보인 점과 인체와 같이 신장과 팔길이 사이에 강한 상관성이 존재하는 것은 흥미로운 발견이었다. 프로세스를 제안하고자 한다.0 이용과 복제제한에 관한 주기(terms governing use and reproduction notes), 541 직접적 출처주기(immediate source of acquisition note), 545 행정연혁/개인이력주기(biographical or historical note), 581 출판주기(publication note), 850 소장처(holding institution) 데이터필드의 식별기호를 재구성, 추가하였다.근방법과 컨조인트 분석)의 조화를 이룰 수 있는 이론적 기초가 될 수 있다. 즉, 제품디자인의 결정요인 분석결과는 QFD의 접근방법에, 제품 디자인 파급효과 분석결과는 컨조인트 분석에 각각 보완적 기여를 할 수 있다. 이와 동시에, 실증적 분석결과는 Ettlie(1997)의 디자인 통합(DI) 이론에 대한 실증적 기반을 제공할 수 있다. 마지막으로, 성공적인 디자인 경영(DM)을 위해서는 최고 경영자의 지원뿐만 아니라 부처 간 의사소통의 장애요인을 제거하고 CFT(cross-functional team)를 운영함으로써 동시적 엔지니어링(CE) 및 제품 및 공정 디자인의 개발이 제품 개발의 속도를 가속화하고 디자인 품질을 높이며 시장 성공을 보증할 수 있도록 해야 한다.임과 채팅은 긍정적인 상호관련을

큐비즘 회화의 조형적 특성을 응용한 의상 디자인 개발 (Development of Fashion Design Based on the Formative Characteristics of Cubism Arts)

  • This study through the literature research to understand the most representative art trend - the definition and evolution of the Cubism in the early 20th century, and through the analysis on the representative painter's works, such as works of Pablo Ruiz Picasso and Georges Braque, This article raises the unique characteristics of the Cubist painting, such as geometry modeling, simultaneity, transparency, collage, deconstruction and reconstruction, etc. On the basis of theoretical research in this study, in order to meet the novelty and originality of clothing design requirements in the field, this research uses the modeling characteristics of the Cubist painting, designs and makes five sets of works in costume designing. Research findings are as follows, 1) According to the geometry modeling, split garment surface into triangle or irregular polygon shaped. 2) Show front and side images of the characters in the same garment surface. 3) Overlapping the images of the characters in the same garment surface. 4) Make use of composite materials to express the characters. 5) Disassemble the characters recombine them in an abstract painting way. These works mainly completed by adopting some techniques like Patchwork and Figurative painting. The colors consist of red, yellow and blue caused "Three primary colors series" to achieve the goal of expanding visual effect. Additionally, for the sake of the formal beauty-deformation distortion, symmetric and asymmetric, for instance the structure of the costume adopts formal beauty technique.

Predicting Organic Matter content in Korean Soils Using Regression rules on Visible-Near Infrared Diffuse Reflectance Spectra

  • This study investigates the prediction of soil OM on Korean soils using the Visible-Near Infrared (Vis-NIR) spectroscopy. The ASD Field Spec Pro was used to acquire the reflectance of soil samples to visible to near-infrared radiation (350 to 2500 nm). A total of 503 soil samples from 61 Korean soil series were scanned using the instrument and OM was measured using the Walkley and Black method. For data analysis, the spectra were resampled from 500-2450 nm with 4 nm spacing and converted to the $1^{st}$ derivative of absorbance (log (1/R)). Partial least squares regression (PLSR) and regression rules model (Cubist) were applied to predict soil OM. Regression rules model estimates the target value by building conditional rules, and each rule contains a linear expression predicting OM from selected absorbance values. The regression rules model was shown to give a better prediction compared to PLSR. Although the prediction for Andisols had a larger error, soil order was not found to be useful in stratifying the prediction model. The stratification used by Cubist was mainly based on absorbance at wavelengths of 850 and 2320 nm, which corresponds to the organic absorption bands. These results showed that there could be more information on soil properties useful to classify or group OM data from Korean soils. In conclusion, this study shows it is possible to develop good prediction model of OM from Korean soils and provide data to reexamine the existing prediction models for more accurate prediction.

  • Van Doesburg founded the magazine De Stijl with Mondrian in 1917. De Stijl movement was influenced by Cubist painting as well as by the mysticism and the ideas about ideal geometric forms in the neoplatonic philosophy. De Stijl proposed ultimate simplicity and abstraction by using only straight horizontal and vertical lines and rectangular forms. Furthermore, their formal vocabulary was limited to the primary colours, red, yellow, and blue, and the three primary values, black, white, and grey. The works avoided symmetry and attained aesthetic balance by the use of opposition. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements In 1924 their different concepts about space and time were split between Van Doesburg and Mondrian. Van Doesburg launched a new concept for his art, Elementarism, which was characterized by the diagonal lines and rivaled with Mondrian's Neo-Plasticism. The works of De Stijl would influence the Bauhaus style and the international style of architecture.
