EV용 충전 인덕터용 PFC 및 제로 토크제어 (PFC and Zero Torque Control of SRM for EV Battery Charging)

  • Integrated switched reluctance motor drive as an electric vehicle battery charger is presented in this paper. The SRM, which is used as the traction power in the driving mode, is used in the charge circuit to improve the power factor of charging system. The charging circuit can share the power switches of the asymmetric converter and phase windings of SRM to charge the battery, and can reduce the size and cost of the system in the plug-in system. To keep the rotor at standstill, zero torque control method is proposed. Since the inductances of the SRM windings are not same at any stop position, the charger controller controls the reference current to satisfy the total charging current with PFC and zero torque condition. A novel cubic equation method is proposed as a current reference distributor of the charging controller. Simulations are performed by MATLAB software and results satisfy the Effectiveness of proposed battery charging system.

시화조력발전 연계에 의한 남시화 계통의 최적 운영 방안 (Optimal Operation by integrating Sihwa Power into NamSihwa Systems)

  • 본 연구에서는 시화조력발전소의 계통 연계에 따른 남시화 계통의 최적 운영 방안을 제안하였다. 남시화 계통의 최적 운영을 위하여 1분 단위의 시화호 해측의 수위를 예측하였으며, 예측된 시화방조제의 해측과 내측의 수위를 이용하여 시화조력발전소의 시간대별 발전량을 계산하였다. 특히, 남시화 계통에서 구입하는 전력은 시화조력의 계산된 시간대별 발전량을 이용하여 송전계통에서 전체 전력을 구입하는 방안, 조력발전이 가능한 시간대에 생산되는 모든 전력을 구입하는 방안 그리고 송전계통과 조력발전으로부터 전력구입 비용을 비교하여 구입하는 방안을 마련함으로써 부존자원이 부족한 우리나라에서 에너지 절약에 기여할 수 있는 최적의 운영 방안을 제시하였다.

Thermo-mechanically induced finite element based nonlinear static response of elastically supported functionally graded plate with random system properties

  • The present work proposes the thermo mechanically induced statistics of nonlinear transverse central deflection of elastically supported functionally graded (FG) plate subjected to static loadings with random system properties. The FG plate is supported on two parameters Pasternak foundation with Winkler cubic nonlinearity. The random system properties such as material properties of FG material, external loading and foundation parameters are assumed as uncorrelated random variables. The material properties are assumed as non-uniform temperature distribution with temperature dependent (TD) material properties. The basic formulation for static is based on higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) with von-Karman nonlinear strain kinematics through Newton-Raphson method. A second order perturbation technique (SOPT) and direct Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) are used to compute the nonlinear governing equation. The effects of load parameters, plate thickness ratios, aspect ratios, volume fraction, exponent, foundation parameters, and boundary conditions with random system properties are examined through parametric studies. The results of present approaches are compared with those results available in the literature and by employing direct Monte Carlo simulation (MCS).

삽교호수계의 수질총량관리제 시행방안 연구 (A Study on the Implementation Method of Total Water Quality Load Management in Sapkyo Lake Watershed)

  • Sapkyo Lake Watershed occupies about 19.3% of total area of Chungnam Province, and it is necessary to make a plan of counter-measure for the maintenance of public waterbody sound as well as to ensure water resources due to urbanization and industrialization in this area so densely populated and excessively developed. Conventionally water quality management has been enforced by concentration-based system which is not considered the carrying capacity of receptors, hence there are no proper measures for the prevention of an excessive pollutant load over a waterbody. So even though emission sources abide by the conventional permission regulation, then the quantity of wastewater is increased continuously and encountered water shortage to use finally. Therefore this research focused on the review of introduction of total water quality management system in Sapkyo Lake watershed to maintain public waterbody sound and to ensure water resources. By doing this research in introduction of the system in advance, it can contribute to establish the methodology on systematic water quality management. Also the application of this system in Sapkyo Lake watershed can promote the sustainable development of the area by harmonizing the environment and regional economy ultimately.

A continuous solution of the heat equation based on a fuzzy system

  • A continuous solution of the Dirichlet boundary value problem for the heat equation $u_t$$a2u_{xx}$ using a fuzzy system is described. We first apply the Crank-Nicolson method to obtain a discrete solution at the grid points for the heat equation. Then we find a continuous function to represent approximately the discrete values at the grid points in the form of a bicubic spline function (equation omitted) that can in turn be represented exactly by a fuzzy system. We show that the computed values at non-grid points using the bicubic spline function is much smaller than the ones obtained by linear interpolations of the values at the grid points. We also show that the fuzzy rule table in the fuzzy system representation of the bicubic spline function can be viewed as a gray scale image. Hence, the fuzzy rules provide a visual representation of the functions of two variables where the contours of different levels for the function are shown in different gray scale levels

  • In this paper, we propose a joint coding system for still images using source coding and powerful error correcting code schemes. Our system comprises an LVQ (lattice vector quantization) source coding for wavelet transformed images and turbo coding for channel coding. The parameters of the image encoder and channel encoder have been optimized for an n-D (dimension) cubic lattice (D$_{n}$, Z$_{n}$), parallel concatenation fur two simple RSC (recursive systematic convolutional code) and an interleaver. For decoding the received image in the case of the AWGN (additive white gaussian noise) channel, we used an iterative joint source-channel decoding algorithm for a SISO (soft-input soft-output) MAP (maximum a posteriori) module. The performance of transmission system has been evaluated in the PSNR, BER and iteration times. A very small degradation of the PSNR and an improvement in BER were compared to a system without joint source-channel decoding at the input of the receiver.ver.

Feasibility study on fiber-optic inorganic scintillator array sensor system for multi-dimensional scanning of radioactive waste

  • We developed a miniaturized multi-dimensional radiation sensor system consisting of an inorganic scintillator array and plastic optical fibers. This system can be applied to remotely obtain the radioactivity distribution and identify the radionuclides in radioactive waste by utilizing a scanning method. Variation in scintillation light was measured in two-dimensional regions of interest and then converted into radioactivity distribution images. Outliers present in the images were removed by using a digital filter to make the hot spot location more accurate and cubic interpolation was applied to make the images smoother and clearer. Next, gamma-ray spectroscopy was performed to identify the radionuclides, and three-dimensional volume scanning was also performed to effectively find the hot spot using the proposed array sensor.

  • A review of how the functions of two or more independent variables can be approximated by using fuzzy systems is provided in this paper. We start with an exact represention of a linear interpolation function of two independent variables by using a fuzzy system. Next, we describe how this function can be approximated by another fuzzy system with a lesser number or with a desired number of output fuzzy sets. Thus, a reduction of the storage needed is achieved by storing the fuzzy rules or equivalently the output fuzzy set numbers instead of storing the whole discrete function values. A description on how the cubic spl me interpolation function can be represented exactly by using the fuzzy system method is provided, along with a few examples where fuzzy rule tables with a size of 7$\times$7 provide a representation of the functions with relative errors of the order of $10^{2}$ or less.

Nonlinear Tuned Mass Damper for self-excited oscillations

  • The effects of a class of nonlinear Tuned Mass Dampers on the aeroelastic behavior of SDOF systems are investigated. Unlike classical linear TMDs, nonlinear constitutive laws of the internal damping acting between the primary oscillator and the TMD are considered, while the elastic properties are keept linear. The perturbative Multiple Scale Method is applied to derive a set of bifurcation equations in the amplitude and phase and a parametric analysis is performed to describe the postcritical scenario of the system. Both cubic- and van der Pol-type dampings are considered and the dependence of the limit-cycle amplitudes on the system parameters is studied. These new results, compared with the previously obtained bifurcation scenario of a SDOF aeroelastic oscillator equipped with a linear TMD, show a detrimental effect on the maximum limit-cycle amplitude reduction of the nonlinear TMD. However, the analyses evidence that in the parameter region away from the perfect tuning condition the nonlinear connection can be used to tune the system with an enhancement of the limit-cycle amplitude reduction.

  • In this study, we provide a comprehensive review of the CIP(Constrained Interpolation Pro file/Cubic Interpolated Propagation) method with a pressure-based algorithm that is known as a general numerical solver for soled liquid, gas and plasmas. And also we introduce a body-fitted grid system(Soroban grid) for computation of strongly nonlinear marine hydrodynamic problems such as slamming water on deck, wave impact by green water. This grid system can keep the third-order accuracy in time and space with the help of the CIP method. The grid system consists of the straight lines and grid points. In the 2-dimensional grid case, each grid points moving in these lines like abacus - Soroban in Japanese. The length of each line can be different and the number of grid points in each line can be different. Mesh generation and searching of upstream departure point are very simple and possible to mesh-free treatment. To optimize computation of free-surface and multi-fluid flows, We adopt the C-CUP method. In most of the earlier computations, the C-CUP method was used with a staggered-grid approach. Here, because of the mesh free nature of the Soroban grid, we use the C-CUP method with a collocated-grid approach.
