공기유동에 대한 고온상태의 비원형 도과내에서의 열전달 및 압력강하의 측정 (Measurement of Heat Transfer and Friction Coefficients for Flow of Air in Noncircular Ducts At High Surface Temperatures.)

  • Measurement of average of heat transfer and friction coefficients were obtained with air flowing through electrically heated ducts having square, rectangular(aspect ration, 5), and triangular cross section for range of surface temperature from $540^{\circ}$to $1780^{\circ}$ R and Reynolds number from 1000 to 330,000. The results indicates that the effect of heat flux on correlations of the average heat transfer and friction coefficients is similar to that obtained for circular tubes in previous investigation and was nearly eliminated by evaluating the physical properties and density of the air a film temperature halfway between the average surface and fluid bulk temperatures, With the Nusselt and Reynolds numbers on the hydraulic diameter of the ducts, the data for the noncircular ducts could be represented by the same equations obtained in the previous investigation for circular tubes. Correlation of the average difference between the surface corner and midwall temperatures for the square duct was in agreement with predicted values from a previous analysis. However, for the rectangular and triangular ducts, the measured corner temperature was greater by approximately 20 and 35 percent, respectively, than the values predicted by analysis.

  • Tolerable vertical displacement of a bridge is dependent on the superstructure-type, slope, span, and etc.. In the design stage, however, resultant force of cross section is examined supposed that the settlement is 1 cm at the bearing point. And the 1cm is sometimes considered as if the criteria of allowable foundation settlement. It is needed to establish the criteria of the tolerable displacement for the small and middle bridges which are widely used in domestic area. The design data of domestic bridges including expressway bridges were collected and analyzed according to the types of superstructures and foundations. And numerical simulations were conducted for RC rigid frame bridges, PSC girder bridges, IPC girder bridges, PSC box girder bridges, and steel box girder bridges to examine the tolerable displacements.

Application of FE approach to deformation analysis of RC elements under direct tension

  • Heterogeneous structure and, particularly, low resistance to tension stresses leads to different mechanical properties of the concrete in different loading situations. To solve this problem, the tension zone of concrete elements is reinforced. Development of the cracks, however, becomes even more complicated in the presence of bar reinforcement. Direct tension test is the common layout for analyzing mechanical properties of reinforced concrete. This study investigates scatter of the test results related with arrangement of bar reinforcement. It employs results of six elements with square $60{\times}60mm$ cross-section reinforced with one or four 5 mm bars. Differently to the common research practice (limited to the average deformation response), this study presents recordings of numerous strain gauges, which allows to monitor/assess evolution of the deformations during the test. A simple procedure for variation assessment of elasticity modulus of the concrete is proposed. The variation analysis reveals different deformation behavior of the concrete in the prisms with different distribution of the reinforcement bars. Application of finite element approach to carefully collected experimental data has revealed the effects, which were neglected during the test results interpretation stage.

  • 다양한 지하 정보를 효율적으로 관리하고 사용자가 필요로 하는 형태의 정보를 쉽게 가공할 수 있는 공간 정보 시스템을 구축하기 위하여 시추 정보를 데이타베이스화 하였고 시추공, 광체, 터널, 채굴 공동 등의 지하 개체를 3차원으로 시각화하였다. 또한 여기서 만들어진 3차원 광체에 이용할 수 있는 분석 도구, 즉 수직 단면 생성 도구, 매장량 계산 도구 등을 제작하였다. 이 정보 시스템은 상응 GIS 소프트웨어인 ArcView의 스크립트 언어인 Avenue를 사용하여 개발하였으며, 사용자들이 실시간 질의와 개체의 다양한 조합 및 3차원 조망을 통해 지하 구조에 대한 정확한 분석 및 해석을 쉽게 그리고 신속히 할 수 있도록 하였다.

ON THE MODELLING OF TWO-PHASE FLOW IN HORIZONTAL LEGS OF A PWR

  • This paper aims at presenting the state of the art, the recent progress, and the perspective for the future, in the modelling of two-phase flow in the horizontal legs of a PWR. All phenomena relevant for safety analysis are listed first. The selection of the modelling approach for system codes is then discussed, including the number of fluids or fields, the space and time resolution, and the use of flow regime maps. The classical two-fluid six-equation one-pressure model as it is implemented in the CATHARE code is then presented and its properties are described. It is shown that the axial effects of gravity forces may be correctly taken into account even in the case of change of the cross section area or of the pipe orientation. It is also shown that it can predict both fluvial and torrential flow with a possible hydraulic jump. Since phase stratification plays a dominant role, the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability and the stability of bubbly flow regime are discussed. A transition criterion based on a stability analysis of shallow water waves may be used to predict the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. Recent experimental data obtained in the METERO test facility are analysed to model the transition from a bubbly to stratified flow regime. Finally, perspectives for further improvement of the modelling are drawn including dynamic modelling of turbulence and interfacial area and multi-field models.

심지층 처분시설 설계를 위한 처분터널 및 처분공 간격 분석 (Analysis of the Disposal Tunnel Spacing and Disposal Pit Pitch for the HLW Repository Design)

  • 본 연구에서는 고준위 방사성폐기물 심지층 처분시설의 규모 및 layout 설정에 필요한 요소인 처분터널 및 처분공 간격에 대한 분석을 수행하였다. 이를 위하여, 기준 처분개념 및 공학적 방벽개념을 바탕으로 처분터널 및 처분공 단면을 설정하고, 단층 및 복층 개념에 따른 처분동굴의 구조적, 열적 안정성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 설계에 있어서 주요한 인자 중의 하나인 굴착량을 최소화할 수 있는 처분동굴 및 처분공 간격을 제안하였다. 향후, 부지에 대한 불확실성을 줄이기 위하여 정확한 부지특성 자료를 통한 상세한 분석이 필요하다.

사진측량을 이용한 토공량 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Earthwork Calculation Using Photogrammetry)

  • 본 연구는 토목공사의 중요한 부분을 차지하는 토공 작업의 토공량 결정 방법에 대한 효율성을 분석하기 위해 자료 획득 방법에 따른 토공량 정확도 분석과 수치지형모델의 보간법 적용에 따른 정확도 분석을 통해 사진 측량에 의한 토공량 결정의 타당성을 입증하고 효용성을 증대시키는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 결과 분석을 통해 단면법을 이용하는 자료 획득 방법에서는 심프슨 제 2 공식과 각주 공식을 이용하는 것이 정확도가 좋았으며, 수치지형모델에서는 지형에 맞는 두 가지 이상의 보간법을 적용하므로서 토공량의 정확도가 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 항공사진을 이용하는 수치지형모델에 의한 방법이 효율적임이 입증되었다.

온톨로지와 군집분석을 이용한 지하공간 정보모델 개발 (Development of Subsurface Spatial Information Model with Cluster Analysis and Ontology Model)

  • 지하공간 개발의 증가에 따라 지층단면도 등 다양한 형태로 제공되는 지하공간 정보모델의 신뢰성이 요구되고 있다. 그러나 지반은 근본적으로 불확실하며, 이를 표현하는 정보모델도 자료부족, 해석표준 부재 등의 비통계적 요인과 외부환경 변수라는 통계적 요인으로 불확실성을 가진다. 따라서, 현재의 모델 생성은 고도로 훈련된 전문가에 의해 이뤄지고 있다. 본 연구는 지반공학 전문가의 경험과 지식에서 시맨틱을 추출하고, 이를 온톨로지 모델과 정보량으로 정량화하였다. 정량화한 온톨로지 모델은 군집분석의 클러스터간 거리계산에 적용하여 시맨틱을 고려한 군집분석 방법론을 제안하였다. 본 제안 방법을 실험지역에 적용한 결과 기존 K-Means 방법에 비해 전문가의 해석과 유사한 결과를 도출하였으며, 수작업으로는 어려운 대용량 데이터를 손쉽게 처리하고 3차원 GIS로 가시화가 가능하였다. 본 연구를 통해 지반공학 전문가의 도움 없이도, 그 경험을 고려하면서 대량의 지반정보 데이터를 효과적으로 처리하여 신뢰성 있는 지하공간 정보모델을 생성할 수 있을 것이다.

Temperature analysis of a long-span suspension bridge based on a time-varying solar radiation model

  • It is important to take into account the thermal behavior in assessing the structural condition of bridges. An effective method of studying the temperature effect of long-span bridges is numerical simulation based on the solar radiation models. This study aims to develop a time-varying solar radiation model which can consider the real-time weather changes, such as a cloud cover. A statistical analysis of the long-term monitoring data is first performed, especially on the temperature data between the south and north anchors of the bridge, to confirm that temperature difference can be used to describe real-time weather changes. Second, a defect in the traditional solar radiation model is detected in the temperature field simulation, whereby the value of the turbidity coefficient tu is subjective and cannot be used to describe the weather changes in real-time. Therefore, a new solar radiation model with modified turbidity coefficient γ is first established on the temperature difference between the south and north anchors. Third, the temperature data of several days are selected for model validation, with the results showing that the simulated temperature distribution is in good agreement with the measured temperature, while the calculated results by the traditional model had minor errors because the turbidity coefficient tu is uncertainty. In addition, the vertical and transverse temperature gradient of a typical cross-section and the temperature distribution of the tower are also studied.

Comparison of the centering ability of Wave.One and Reciproc nickel-titanium instruments in simulated curved canals

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the shaping ability of newly marketed single-file instruments, Wave One (Dentsply-Maillefer) and Reciproc (VDW GmbH), in terms of maintaining the original root canal configuration and curvature, with or without a glide-path. Materials and Methods: According to the instruments used, the blocks were divided into 4 groups (n = 10): Group 1, no glide-path / Wave One; Group 2, no glide-path / Reciproc; Group 3, #15 K-file / Wave One; Group 4, #15 K-file / Reciproc. Pre- and post-instrumented images were scanned and the canal deviation was assessed. The cyclic fatigue stress was loaded to examine the cross-sectional shape of the fractured surface. The broken fragments were evaluated under the scanning electron microscope (SEM) for topographic features of the cross-section. Statistically analysis of the data was performed using one-way analysis of variance followed by Tukey's test (${\alpha}$ = 0.05). Results: The ability of instruments to remain centered in prepared canals at 1 and 2 mm levels was significantly lower in Group 1 (p < 0.05). The centering ratio at 3, 5, and 7 mm level were not significantly different. Conclusions: The Wave One file should be used following establishment of a glide-path larger than #15.
