청·장년층의 조절력에 관한 고찰 (A Study for Young and Middle Age People of Accommodation)

  • 19세에서 40세까지의 청 장년층 242안(121명)을 대상으로 Spherical Add 법과 Cross cylinder lens법을 이용하여 조절력 검사를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. Spherical Add법을 사용하여 조절력을 측정한 결과 20대의 조절력의 범위는 9~13Diopter로 나타났고, 30대의 조절력의 범위는 6~8.5Diopter로 나타났다. 20대는 왕성한 조절력을 지니고 있음을 알 수 있었고, 30대 이상은 조절력이 25세 이전과 비교해서 감소함을 알 수 있었다. Cross cylinder lens법을 이용하여 조절력을 측정한 결과 20대의 평균조절력의 범위는 6.13~10.13Diopter, 30대의 평균조력의 범위는 5.75~8.75Diopter, 40대의 평균조절력의 범위는 4.38~7.25Diopter로 나타난다. 즉 조절력은 나이가 많아짐에 따라 감소함을 알 수 있었고 남녀 모두 cross cylinder lens의 붉은점을 수평방향으로 위치시킬 때의 조절력이 cross cylinder lens의 붉은점을 수직방향으로 위치시킬 때의 조절력보다 큰 것으로 나타났다. Spherical Add법과 Cross cylinder lens 법에 의해 측정한 조절력의 분포를 살펴보면 대부분 S.A 법을 이용하여 측정한 조절력이 Cr.c 법을 이용하여 측정한 조절력보다 큰 것으로 나타났다.

Characteristics of fluctuating lift forces of a circular cylinder during generation of vortex excitation

  • This paper describes the characteristics of the fluctuating lift forces when a circular cylinder vibrates in the cross-flow direction. The response characteristics on elastically supported the circular cylinder was first examined by a free-vibration test. Next, flow-induced vibrations obtained by the free-vibration test were reproduced by a forced-vibration test, and then the characteristics of the fluctuating lift forces, the work done by the fluctuating lift, the behavior of the rolling-up of the separated shear layers were investigated on the basis of the visualized flow patterns. The main findings were that (i) the fluctuating lift forces become considerably large than those of a stationary circular cylinder, (ii) negative pressure generates on the surface of the circular cylinder when the rolling-up of separated shear layer begins, (iii) the phase between the fluctuating lift force and the cylinder displacement changes abruptly as the reduced velocity $U_r$ increases, and (iv) whether the generating cross-flow vibration becomes divergent or convergent can be described based on the work done by the fluctuating lift force. Furthermore, it was found that the generation of cross-flow vibration can be perfectly suppressed when the small tripping rods are installed on the surface of the circular cylinder.

크로스 실린더법과 적·녹검사를 이용한 정밀구면 굴절력에 관한 고찰 (A Study for Exact Spherical Diopter by Cross Cylinder Lens and Red·Green Card Method)

  • 14세에서 19세까지의 중 고등학생 1750안(875명)을 대상으로 cross cylinder lens와 적 녹 검사를 이용하여 교정후 조절력검사를 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. Cross cylinder lens법을 사용하여 교정후 조절력검사를 측정한 결과 0 Dptr에서는 33%의 오차범위가 나타났고 -0.25 Dptr에서는 58%로 측정되었다. -0.75 Dptr에서는 1%의 오차 범위가 측정되었고 -1.00 Dptr에서는 오차가 측정되지 않았다. Cross cylinder lends법을 이용한 정밀구면굴절력의 오차범위는 0 Dptr에서 -0.25 Dptr까지 1%에 달하는 정밀측정 오차가 발생되었다. 적 녹검사를 이용한 교정후 조절력검사는 0 Dptr에서 -.025 Dptr에서 75%의 비율이 측정되었고 -0.50 Dptr에서는 20%가 측정되었다. 이 측정결과 Cross cylinder lens를 이용한 측정이 적 녹검사측정보다 더 세밀한 측정결과를 나타내었다.

Mechanism of ovalling vibrations of cylindrical shells in cross flow

  • The mechanism of wind-induced ovalling vibrations of cylindrical shells is numerically investigated by using a vortex method. The subject of this paper is limited to a two-dimensional structure in the subcritical regime. The aerodynamic stability of the ovalling vibrations in the second to fourth circumferential modes is discussed, based on the results of a forced-vibration test. In the analysis, two modal configurations are considered; one is symmetric and the other is anti-symmetric with respect to a diameter parallel to the flow direction. The unsteady pressures acting on a vibrating cylinder are simulated and the work done by them for one cycle of a harmonic motion is computed. The effects of a splitter plate on the flow around the cylinder as well as on the aerodynamic stability of the ovalling vibrations are also discussed. The consideration on the mechanism of ovalling vibrations is verified by the results of a free-vibration test.

크로스실린더를 이용한 난시정밀검사에서 검사 전 최소착란원 위치에 따른 난시교정값의 변화 (Changes of Corrective Astigmatism Values Depending on Position of Circle of Least Confusion in Astigmatic Refining Test Using Cross Cylinder)

  • 목적: 크로스실린더를 이용한 난시정밀검사에서 망막 상의 최소착란원 위치가 난시교정값에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 평균나이 $22.24{\pm}2.48$세의 62명(115안)을 대상으로 검사하였다. 방사선시표를 이용한 난시검사 후 최대교정시력이 얻어진 구면굴절력(MPMVA) 상태에서 크로스실린더를 이용한 정밀검사를 실시하였다. 그런 다음 S+0.75 D, S+0.50 D, S+0.25 D, S-0.25 D, S-0.50 D, 그리고 S-0.75 D의 렌즈를 각각 더한 상태(최소착락원의 위치이동)에서 동일한 정밀검사를 실시하고, 얻어진 검사값을 MPMVA 상태에서 얻어진 검사값과 비교하였다. 결과: MPMVA 상태의 검사값과 비교하여 더해준 (+)구면렌즈와 (-)구면렌즈가 증가할수록 축 변화량은 증가하였다. 동일한 검사상태에서 난시굴절력이 높을수록 축 변화량은 감소하였다(p<0.05). MPMVA 상태의 검사값과 비교하여 더해준 (+)구면렌즈가 증가할수록 난시굴절력은 낮게 나타났고(p<0.05), (-)구면렌즈가 증가할수록 높게 나타났다. (+)구면렌즈를 더해준 경우, 동일한 검사상태에서 난시굴절력이 높을수록 검사값의 차이는 더 크게 나타났다. 결론: 올바른 난시교정값을 얻기 위해서 크로스실린더를 이용한 난시정밀검사 전 최소착락원 위치를 정확히 조정하여야 한다.

2 상 횡 유동장에 놓인 관군의 유체탄성불안정성 (Fluid-elastic Instability in a Tube Array Subjected to Two-Phase Cross Flow)

  • Experiments have been performed to investigate fluid-elastic instability of tube bundles, subjected to twophase cross flow. Fluid-elastic is the most important vibration excitation mechanism for heat exchanger tube bundles subjected to the cross flow. The test section consists of cantilevered flexible cylinder(s) and rigid cylinders of normal square array. From a practical design point of view, fluid-elastic instability may be expressed simply in terms of dimensionless flow velocity and dimensionless mass-damping parameter. For dynamic instability of cylinder rows, added mass, damping and the threshold flow velocity are evaluated. The Fluid-elastic instability coefficient is calculated and then compared to existing results given for tube bundles in normal square array.

스테레오PIV에 의한 원주후류 난류통계량 계측 (Measurement of Turbulent Properties of a Circular Cylinder with a New Stereoscopic PIV)

  • A new stereoscopic PIV has been constructed using two CCD cameras, stereoscopic photogrammetry, and 3D-PTV principle. The capability of the developed stereoscopic PIV was verified through a test on the Standard Images which are provided on the website of VSJ. The arrangement of the two cameras was based on angular position For the acquisition of 3D velocity vectors, 2D velocity vectors were obtained using the gray-level cross-correlation method from the two camera images and they were matched stereoscopically. The wake of a circular cylinder was measured and turbulent properties were presented.

An experimental study of a circular cylinder's two-degree-of-freedom motion induced by vortex

  • This paper presents results of an experimental investigation of vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of a flexibly mounted and rigid cylinder with two-degrees-of-freedom with respect to varying ratio of in-line natural frequency to cross-flow natural frequency, $f^*$, at a fixed low mass ratio. Combined in-line and cross-flow motion was observed in a sub-critical Reynolds number range. Three-dimensional displacement meter and tension meter were used to measure dynamic responses of the model. To validate the results and the experiment system, x and y response amplitudes and ratio of oscillation frequency to cross-flow natural frequency were compared with other experimental results. It has been found that the higher harmonics, such as third and more vibration components, can occur on a certain part of steel catenary riser under a condition of dual resonance mode. In the present work, however, due to the limitation of a size of circulating water channel, the whole test of a whole configuration of the riser at an adequate scale for VIV phenomenon was not able to be conducted. Instead, we have modeled a rigid cylinder and assumed that the cylinder is a part of steel catenary riser where the higher harmonic motions could occur. Through the experiment, we have found that even though the cylinder was assumed to be rigid, the occurrence of the higher harmonic motions was observed in a small reduced velocity ($V_r$) range, where the influence of the in-line response is relatively large. The transition of the vortex shedding mode from one to another was examined by using time history of x and y directional displacement over all experimental cases. We also observed the influence of in-line restoring force power spectral density with $f^*$.

Development of sit-to-stand assistive chair using a pneumatic cylinder: a feasibility test

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to develop and investigate the feasibility of a sit-to-stand assistive chair using a pneumatic cylinder. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: The sit-to-stand assistive chair was developed to assist the sit-to-stand movement by rising up of the chair by a pneumatic cylinder. After the user is seated on the chair, if the pneumatic cylinder pulls the seat plate when standing up, the spring of the pneumatic cylinder, which has been stretched, assists in rising the rear end of the seat plate so that the user can stand conveniently and comfortably. A feasibility test was performed in 10 heathy adults. The electromyographic muscle activation of the trunk and lower extremity muscles was analyzed, which included the erector spinae, rectus abdominis, quadriceps, tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius when standing up from sitting using the developed chair and standing up without using the developed chair. Results: As a result, the sit-to-stand assistive chair using a pneumatic cylinder was developed. In the feasibility test, the use of the developed chair had a decrease in rectus abdominis, quadriceps, tibialis anterior activation compared to those who did not use the device in the healthy adults. Conclusions: The sit-to-stand assistive chair using a pneumatic cylinder may be helpful to reduce the activation of the rectus abdominis, quadriceps, tibialis anterior muscles when performing a sit-to-stand movement. Through the results, the efficacy of the sit-to-stand assistive chair can be confirmed. In the future, further studies are warranted to investigate for the safety and efficacy of its use in the elderly population or those who are disabled.

콘크리트 비파괴강도 추정을 위한 인발시험법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Pull-out test for Non-Destructive Evaluation of Concrete Strength)

  • Pullout test known as Lok test among the test methods to evaluate concrete strength strength is a test method which is used to decide the form removal time by assessing the early strength of concrete in a new construction, or to control the quality of newly placed concrete. This method has inconvenience to place inserts on the form work in advance, however, the placing work is quite simple and it has advantage that the strength can be measured at field as long as the inserts are placed. In this study, the first step is to investigate the properties of test method itself, by performing the laboratory test which covers deviation of the method and factors affecting the results, etc. The second step is to correlate the result with cylinder strength and other NDT methods such as rebound hammer, ultrasonic method, etc. And that, the results are compared with foreign results to find the differences between the two. In this research, new factors such as moisture content, area of aggregate failure cross section and area of aggregate separation cross section, etc as well as wate-cement ratio and age are investigated.
