  • The crew operation scheduling problem is divided into duty generation and duty allocation. The railway crew roster scheduling(duty allocation) is developed monthly for each crew's office, considering the car types and crew's driving ability. However, it is very difficult to make schedules which assign monthly working hours to each crew evenly. The purpose of this thesis is to minimize the differences between each crew's total duty times and make a rostering table. To minimize the differences among monthly working hours of each crews are grouped according to car type and crew's driving ability and a rostering table which could be shared by the group members is developed. Our approach is to apply the techniques of Constraint Programming in order to solve such problems efficiently. This algorithm is suitable to solve optimization problems which involve many complicated constraints. And including the concept of cost, we suggested the model which enable to make the rostering table with a minimum personnel.

  • Recently, the importance of vibration reduction at the local structure such as tank, deck which attached machinery and compass deck, has continuously increased by owner and shipbuilder. Because crews are afflicted with them and severe vibration problems affect on the crack of structure. This study conducted optimum design to get a stiffener size of local structure to reducing the vibration level and dec leasing the weight of structure in ship. Random tabu search method (R-Tabu) has fast converging time and can search variables size domains for nonlinear problems. This paper used Nastran external call type independence optimization method which makes using a solver module from Nastran.

  • An expert system for a ship medical manager is presented in this paper where it si planned to improve the medical environment of the crew. The proposed system includes a information retrieval system that is based on the knowledge database organizing important experiences of first-aiders and is intended to be used effectively by the inexpert member. Moreover, this system of which the purpose is to computerize the medical work of each ship medical manager that the third officer give an affirmative guide for the execution of their duty from the medical treatment database of the disease occurring frequently on many crews.

  • This paper describes an information retrieval system which offers real time information about mobile vehicles through the Internet. In order to evaluate the efficiency of solar batteries and feasibility of electric vehicles, four crews of Tokyo Denki University made a round trip through the North American Continent by their handmade solar electric vehicles last summer. In accordance with this project, an information retrieval system which offers the daily drive information through the Internet to the public was constructed. The system configuration and operating results of this system are reported.

  • This paper considers subway crew scheduling problem. Crew scheduling is concerned with finding a minimum number of assignments of crews to a given timetable satisfying various restrictions. Traditionally, crew scheduling problem has been formulated as a set covering or set partitioning problem possessing exponentially many variables, but even the LP relaxation of the problem is hard to solve due to the exponential number of variables. In this paper. we propose two basic techniques that solve the subway crew scheduling problem in a reasonable time, though the optimality of the solution is not guaranteed. We develop an algorithm that solves the column-generation problem in polynomial time. In addition, the integrality of the solution is accomplished by variable-fixing technique. Computational result for a real instance is reported.

  • This paper presented Fuzzy logic application to Electrical power system analysis for fault location estimation in distribution lines and apply the Power system theory to be fuzzy logic database. The case study referred to the Overhead distribution line of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA.), Thailand which mostly the distribution line of PEA. are Radial schemes. These benefits include reduced outage time, help in locating momentary faults, enhance safety to the line crews and provide notification of an outage without receiving calls from the consumer, Which these benefits also increase Reliability, Stability and Efficiency.

  • Recently, importance of working environment is increased in commercial vessel and offshore structure. Marine facility design and ambient environment condition are influenced to enhancing human performance and reducing human errors. Consequently, the quality of accommodation where offshore facility crews sleep, eat and relax will influence their job performance and overall sense of comport and well-being. Therefore, adequate acoustic isolation between adjacent spaces is normally required to achieve satisfactory internal noise levels, acoustic privacy and speech intelligibility. In this study, the reverberation time is investigated in the public areas where there are not provided the information of material's noise reduction coefficient (NRC). The experiment of reverberation time is rarely performed for the various type public areas in a marine structure. Therefore, the reverberation time in a vessel is investigate in order to evaluate the room's noise reduction coefficient (NRC) in a public area.

  • The intense noise generated by military aircraft hans a significant impact on ground crews and their families on airbase. For minimizing the impact of the aircraft noise on the airport, appropriate indoor noise standard is required. This paper studied to establish the indoor noise standard on the military airport. The aircraft noise was measured and analyzed the frequence characteristics. the remodeling of office for the noise mitigation was enforced to verify the appropriate internal noise standard and to select the method of reinforcement. The noise standard was classified three categories according to the dwelling, office and usage of building with flight train facilities and banishment in military airfield.

  • Magnitudes of Magnetic field, Electronic field and Microwave was measured during the each stage of flight in the airline operation. The results was much higher than the safety standard and proved to be serious to the cockpit crews on their duty. We also identified that the magnitude of electronic field was much decreased by all three kinds of microwave protection equipments. We recommend that the cockpit crew have to wear the protection clothes to reduce the hazardous effects on their duty and the aircraft manufacturers have to consider the microwave-reduced cockpit in the initial stage of aircraft design.

  • For the design and maintenance of highways and road structures, the statistical data are needed for the vehicle, especially heavy truck crossing. So far, static weighing has been used but it needs fixed station, crews, and it takes a lot of time. Also truck mix and headway distances cannot be obtained. Weigh-In-Motion system uses the sensor as a weighing scale and collects the axle weights, axle distances, vehicle types and etc. without stopping or slowing down the vehicle. Objectives of the study is make a determination of WIM Sensor for Implementation of U-Overloaded Vehicle Regulation System.
