Uni-flow 소기방식 2행정 프리피스톤 수소기관의 스트로크변화에 따른 역화 특성 (The Characteristics of Backfire for 2 stroke Free-Piston Hydrogen Fueled Engine with Uni-flow Scavenging)

  • Backfire characteristics for hydrogen fueled free piston engine with uni-flow scavenging is investigated with different stroke, exhaust vlave openning timing and fuel-air equivalence ratio by using RICEM (Rapid Intake Compression Expansion Machine) for combustion research of free piston engine. As results, it is found that backfire can be occurred due to slow combustion of unhomogeneous mixture in the piston crevice volume or/and in the cylinder near piston head. And the more stroke of free piston H2 engine with uni-flow scavenging is short the more opening timing of exhaust valve have to be advanced to control backfire.

  • The remaining life of ACSR(Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced) wires exposed to the atmosphere for a long period relies on the extent of deterioration caused by environmental factors such as atmospheric corrosion, galvanic corrosion, crevice corrosion and fatigue corrosion. We investigated the tensile characteristics of ACSR wires in a coastal area through several mechanical tests, and analyzed the constituents of them using SEM(scanning electron microscope). Test samples are parts of ACSR 97[$mm^2$] overhead transmission lines in that area. The result shows that ACSR wires exposed to salt may lead to rapid mechanical deterioration.

  • The remaining life of ACSR exposed to the atmosphere for a long period may rely on deterioration caused by environmental indices such as atmospheric corrosion, galvanic corrosion, crevice corrosion and fatigue corrosion. One of reduction of useful life in overhead transmission lines built on the ridge of mountain is often caused by forest fires. This paper deals with investigation of strength deterioration performance of ACSR due to fires through several testing and analyzing data for both tension load and material analysis. Test samples are ACSR $480[mm^2]$ conductors, which are artificially fired to regular durations. As a result, it can be verified that tension load of ACSR are reduced by increasing fro duration. Hence, it is obvious that ACSR due to forest fires may lead to mechanical deterioration.

  • Stainless steels have been widely considered as metallic separators, due to their passive surface film, which is good for corrosion resistance. However, the high resistivity of the passive film increases interfacial contact resistance between the separators and electrodes. Stainless steels thermal spray coated with a mixture of tungsten carbide and stainless steel powders showed that the coated layer safely combined with the matrix but they suffered many internal defects including voids and cracks. Many cracks were formed in the coated layer and the interface of the matrix and the coated layer during the rolling process. The coated and rolled stainless steels showed lower interfacial contact resistance and corrosion resistance than bare stainless steel because of low resistivity of tungsten carbide and numerous defects, which caused crevice corrosion, in the coated layer.

배기 Hydrocarbon의 생성과정에 과한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the mechanism of hydrocarbon emissions)

  • The formation process of hydrocarbon emissions was investigated in SI engine. The time- resolved concentrations of hydrocarbon emissions were measured using a high gas sampling valve and a gas chromatography. The gas was sampled at exhaust port, or the position of spark plug, or the wall of combustion chamber. The experiments were conducted using the Alpha engine of Hyundai Motor Company. The fuel used was methanol or propane. It was found that the effect of the quenching layer of combustion chamber wall on hydrocarbon emissions was not significant. The increasing rate of hydrocarbon concentration at combustion chamber wall near crevice and oil layer after flame was reached was much higher than that at the position of spark plug. The hydrocarbon concentrations at exhaust port had two peak values just after opening exhaust valve and just before closing it.

  • A significant problem met in engineering practice when designing cable-stayed bridges is the failure of cables. Many different factors can lead to sudden failure of cables, such as corrosion, continuous friction or abrasion, progressive and extended crevice created by fatigue and finally an explosion caused by sabotage or accident, are some of the causes that can lead to the sudden failure of one or more cables. This paper deals with the sudden failure of cables in a special form of cable-stayed bridges with a single line of cables anchored at the central axis of the deck's cross-section. The analysis is carried out by the modal superposition technique where an analytical method developed by the authors in a previous work has been employed.

모감주나무군락의 구조 및 유지기작

  • 모감주나무의 내륙지방 자생지인 충북 월악산 송계계곡과 대구시 내속동 소재 모감주나무군락을 대상으로 군락형성지의 생육환경유형, 군락의 구조, 개체군 특성 등을 조사하여 군락형성지의 특징과 그 군락의 확장 및 유지기작을 밝혔다. 모감주나무군락의 모래 언덕(Type 1), 계류내 암반 위(Type 2), 계류변 암극지(Type 3)의 3가지 유형으로 구분되었다. 월악산 지소에서 모감주나무군락의 계층구조는 대 부분 아교목층, 관목층 및 초본층의 3층 구조로 이루어졌고 대구시 지소의 것은 교목 층을 포함하여 4층 구조로 이루어졌다. 모감주나무군락의 식생조성에서 보면 습지소의 개활지에 자주 출현하는 식물의 출현빈도가 높았는데, 교목성식물은 느티나무와 물푸 레나무의 출현빈도가 높았다. 모감주나무개체군의 지표직경급의 빈도분포도는 역 J자 형을 나타내었다. 모감주나무의 전파기작은 인간에 의한 식재, 야생동물에 의한 전파, 물의 흐름에 의한 전파 등으로 생각할 수 있는데, 본 연구를 수행한 지소의 것은 모두 첫 번째 기작보다는 두 번째와 세 번째 기작에 의해 전파된 것으로 판단되었다. 모감 주나무의 초기 생식연령은 5년이었으며, 초기 전파단게에 있는 월악산의 한 지소에서 모수와 유식물 사이의 연형 차이는 5년 이상이었다. 군락의 발달단계에서 노쇠기에 접 어든 것으로 판단되는 대구시 지소의 모감주나무 성숙림의 임상에는 성숙목의 후속수 가 될 수 잇는 다수의 유식물이 성숙목의 수관 밑과 주변분에 모두 고르게 정착해 있 어 모수로부터 산포된 종자에 기인한 이러한 유식물들이 다음 시대의 모감주나무군락 을 형성할수 있을 것으로 판된되었다. 한편, 내륙지방 모감주나무군락의 기원은 인위전 파설과 자생설로 설명되었다.

Screening for diabetes mellitus using gingival crevicular blood with the help of a self-monitoring device

  • Purpose: The purpose of study was to compare blood glucose in capillary finger-prick blood and gingival crevice blood using a self-monitoring blood glucose device among patients with gingivitis or periodontitis. Methods: Thirty patients with gingivitis or periodontitis and bleeding on probing (BOP) were chosen. The following clinical periodontal parameters were noted: probing depth, BOP, gingival bleeding index, and periodontal disease index. Blood samples were collected from gingival crevicular blood (GCB) and capillary finger-prick blood (CFB). These samples were analyzed using a glucose self-monitoring device. Results: Descriptive statistical analysis has been carried out in the present study. Data were analyzed using a Pearson's correlation coefficient and Student's t-test. A r-value of 0.97 shows very strong correlation between CFB and GCB, which was statistically highly significant (P<0.0001). Conclusions: The authors conclude that GCB may serve as potential source of screening blood glucose during routine periodontal examination in populations with an unknown history of diabetes mellitus.

프리피스톤 수소기관의 역화 및 이상연소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Backfire and Abnormal Combustion in the Free-piston Hydrogen Fueled Engine)

  • The free-piston hydrogen fueled engine is estimated as the next generation power system which can obtain high efficiency and low emission, simultaneously. In order to develop the free-piston hydrogen fueled engine, it is necessary to stable the combustion. The engine combustion, backfire and knock phenomenons were studied by using RICEM for researching combustion characteristics of free-piston engine. As the results, backfire occurrence was not observed in the free-piston engine under limited experimental condition. And knocking occurred in case of higher cylinder wall temperature.
