Time dependent strain due to creep is a significant factor in structural design. Multi-gene genetic programming (MGGP) and artificial neural network (ANN) are used to develop two models for prediction of creep compliance in concrete. The first model was developed by MGGP technique and the second model by hybridized MGGP-ANN. In the MGGP-ANN, the ANN is working in parallel with MGGP to predict errors in MGGP model. A total of 187 experimental data sets that contain 4242 data points are filtered from the NU-ITI database. These data are used in developing the MGGP and MGGP-ANN models. These models contain six input variables which are: average compressive strength at 28 days, relative humidity, volume to surface ratio, cement type, age at start of loading and age at the creep measurement. Practical equation based on MGGP was developed. A parametric study carried out with a group of hypothetical data generated among the range of data used to check the generalization ability of MGGP and MGGP-ANN models. To confirm validity of MGGP and MGGP-ANN models; two creep prediction code models (ACI209 and CEB), two empirical models (B3 and GL 2000) are used to compare their results with NU-ITI database.
In order to develop materials with a low environmental load for restoring the destroyed forest, seven types of wood-concrete hybrid laminated materials were manufactured with four softwoods, three hardwoods and concrete, and the effect of wood density on bending creep property was investigated. The bending creep curves showed a shape to considerably increase at the upper right side, and the curves were found to show a linear behavior beyond about 30 min - 1 hour, as behaviors of solid woods and wood-based materials. The initial compliances of wood-concrete hybrid-laminated materials decreased with an increase in the wood density, and those values showed 0.9 - 1.2 times of the concrete one. The creep compliances of hybrid laminated materials showed very low values, which were 0.4 - 0.8 times of the concrete ones. The relative creep were very low with a range from 8.2% to 17.0% range, which were 0.3 - 0.7 times of the concrete ones. These results indicate that these materials can be applied for restoring the destroyed forest to reduce creep deformation of the conventional concrete materials by hybrid-laminating concrete and woods.

Efficient numerical finite element analysis of creeping concrete structures requires the use Kelvin or Maxwell chain model, which is most conveniently identified from a continuous retardation or relaxation spectrum, the spectrum in turn being determined from the given compliance or relaxation function. The method of doing that within the context of solidification theory for creep with aging was previously worked out by Bazant and Xi, but only for the case of a continuous retardation spectrum based on Kelvin chain. The present paper is motivated by the need to incorporate concrete creep into the recently published microplane model M4 for nonlinear triaxial behavior of concrete, including tensile fracturing and behavior under compression. In that context. the Maxwell chain is more effective than Kelvin chain. because of the kinematic constraint of the microplanes used in M4. Determination of the continuous relaxation spectrum for Maxwell chain. based on the solidification theory, is outlined and numerical examples are presented.

This study was performed as the first step of concrete materiaI research(concrete test program)of Lotte Super Tower column shortening research. Total 18 month's creep and shrinkage results were obtained from the test so far. The analysis were conducted using those results by design strength and loading age, and then validated model and equation were proposed from the result analysis and regression analysis. AC I209R Model, Bazant-Baweja B3 Model, CEB MC99 Model, & GL2000 Model, were employed for this study. The main analysis was completed on the total shrinkage strain and compliance.
A single frequency strain mode test, a stress relaxation mode test, and a creep test using RH-DMA were performed to investigate the effects of relative humidity and temperature on the viscous properties of PET film. The relative humidity was 10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%. The temperature was considered to be 30~95℃ for single frequency strain mode tests, 30℃ and 70℃ for stress relaxation mode test, and 5~95℃ for creep test. According to the results, higher relative humidity results in lower storage modulus and loss modulus, but the maximum value of the loss modulus is not significantly affected by changes in relative humidity and is almost constant. Relaxation modulus decreases rapidly at the beginning and becomes constant, and as the temperature increases, it is susceptible to changes in relative humidity. Strain recovery also increases rapidly at the beginning and is susceptible to changes in relative humidity as the temperature increases. In addition, as the temperature increases, the degree of increase in creep compliance increases, and as the temperature rises above the glass transfer temperature, the degree of increase becomes very large. The master curve determined by the time-temperature superposition provides the information to predict the long-term performance under operating conditions such as relative humidity and temperature.

A series of constant creep and repeated creep tests are performed to investigate the behavior of visco-elasto-plastic materials of chemical grouted sands. In the result of constant creep test, the material exhibits three types of shear strain : elastic, plastic, viscoelastic. The elastic, plastic and viscoelastic strains are linear, i.e., the strains are proportional to the stresses for loading. Good agreement is found between the predicted viscoelastic and test results by the power law and the generalized model. In the repeated creep test, the instantaneous recoverable strain is time-independent and the magnitude of accumulated plastic strain increases with number of cycles. Also it is seen that the accumulated plastic strains are approximately proportional to stress. There are no significant differences between test results predicted values for first cycle, and the differences increase relatively insignificantly with number of cycles.
For the Rouse chain composed of infinite number of beads (continuous limit), conformational changes during the creep and creep recovery processes was recently analyzed to reveal the interplay among all Rouse eigenmodes under the constant stress condition (Watanabe and Inoue, Rheol. Acta, 2004). For completeness of the analysis of the Rouse model, this paper analyzes the conformational changes of the discrete Rouse chain having a finite number of beads (N = 3 and 4). The analysis demonstrates that the chain of finite N exhibits the affine deformation on imposition/removal of the stress and this deformation gives the instantaneous component of the recoverable compliance, $J_{R}$(0) = 1/(N-l)v $k_{B}$T with v and $k_{B}$ being the chain number density and Boltzmann constant, respectively. (This component vanishes for N\longrightarrow$\infty$.) For N = 2, it is known that the chain has only one internal eigenmode so that the affinely deformed conformation at the onset of the creep process does not change with time t and $J_{R}$(t) coincides with $J_{R}$(0) at any t (no transient increase of $J_{R}$(t)). However, for N$\geq$3, the chain has N-l eigenmodes (N-l$\geq$2), and this coincidence vanishes. For this case, the chain conformation changes with t to the non-affine conformation under steady flow, and this change is governed by the interplay of the Rouse eigenmodes (under the constant stress condition). This conformational change gives the non-instantaneous increase of $J_{R}$(t) with t, as also noted in the continuous limit (N\longrightarrow$\infty$).X>).TEX>).X>).
In general, polymer concrete has more excellent mechanical properties and durability than Portland cement concrete, but very sensitive to heat and has large deformations. In this study, the long-term creep behaviors was predicted by the short-term creep test, and then the characteristic of creep of recycled-PET polymer concrete was defined by material and experimental variables. The error in the predicted long-term creep values is less than 5 percent for all polymer concrete systems. The filler carry out an important role to restrict the creep strains of recycled PET Polymer concrete. The creep strain and specific on using the $CaCO_3$ were less than using fly-ash. The creep increases with an increase in the applied stress, but not proportional the rate of stress increase ratio. The creep behavior of polymer concrete using recycled polyester resin is not a linear viscoelastic behavior.

This paper deals with the analysis for column shortening of RC frame structure considering the construction sequences. The time-dependent effects of concrete are taken into consideration in this study to simulate the actual structural behavior. The stiffness matrix of a beam element is derived on the bases of the layer approach, dividing a section with imaginary layers. Creep and shrinkage strains at each layer are calculated by using the first-order algorithm based on the expansion of creep compliance. Finally, the correlation studies with the purpose of analyzing the time-dependent behavior of building structure are conducted using the analytical model proposed in this study.

In this study, the linear viscoelastic response of a rectangular laminated plate is investigated. The viscoelastic properties, expressed by two basic spring-dashpot models, that is Kelvin and Maxwell models, is assumed in the range to investigate the influence of viscoelastic coefficients to mechanical behavior. In the present study, viscoelastic responses are performed for two popular equivalent single-layered theories, such as the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and third-order shear deformation theory (TSDT). Compliance and relaxation modulus of time-dependent viscoelastic behavior are approximately determined by Prony series. The constitutive equation for linear viscoelastic material as the Boltzmann superposition integral equation is simplified by the convolution theorem of Laplace transformation to avoid direct time integration as well as to improve both accuracy and computational efficiency. The viscoelastic responses of composite laminates in the real time domain are obtained by applying the inverse Laplace transformation. The numerical results of viscoelastic phenomena such as creep, cyclic creep and recovery creep are presented.
