This study is on the abstract expressionist techniques among the art activities variously expressed in modern fashion. Its significance lies in making fashion artistic through the combination of fashion and art in contributing to the development of creative fashion culture. In terms of method, documents are used to characterize the concept of abstract expressionism, the works of representative artists, and the panting techniques in relation to modem art based on existing literature. Fashion-related anthology, domestic, and foreign fashion magazines were used to analyze the abstract expressionism applied to modern fashion since 2000. According to the findings, the abstract expressionism applied to modern fashion showed artistic expressions with the abstract beauty by chance, using only the images or techniques similar to those in abstract expressionism. Expressionist works had abstract and dynamic images, as they were given a third dimension through the process of being worn on the human body. Second, details or decorative factors were excluded to ensure the maximum space for expression, modem images were displayed using the simple forms such as silhouettes (spacious or dense) and the beauty of harmony was shown that had beauty emphasized by the expression effects of textile design, the division of space, and the composition of colors. Third, the action painting techniques in modern fashion were used for textile designs printed on the surface of clothes, and the dynamic character of the design was shown by the duplication and juxtaposition of stains created by chance. The color field abstract techniques were shown through printing, texture, and dying, in addition the intense and pure abstract images were displayed by treating clothes like large screens.
Local governments have been actively introducing the characters, which identity their regional features and publicize the governments, to increase municipal identity and encourage the participation of residents since the self-governing system was enforced in 1996. Some characters of local governments, however, were not often developed systematically and did not perform the intended purposes. This study reviewed general theories related to the general and municipal characters. Currently employed municipal characters were analyzed in various perspectives : problems of the characters were presented mixed use of terms for the symbol, selection of not creative materials. In addition, unsystematic planing and indifference of residents were revealed. This study could be utilized to shape design policy and applied to develop the municipal characters illustrating the proper regional characteristics and performing practical function.
The purpose of this study had started from trying to look for a new standard in new media era and sounding out possibility of perspective of digital poetry, and had been extracting interpretational elements based on characteristics of otology in digital poetics research in technical method. Through examination of many documentary records, we suggested interpretive elements of medial space based on meaning and the theory of digital poetics. We deduced three perspectives based on relationship between the basic thesis in poetics and interpretive elements of medial space. We used them as tool for analysis of example. We chose as an example that change of program in space is clear through connection of media and space in where new form of creation happens through digital instruments and chose article as subject to which digital technology is applied and had been since 2000, The result of this study is as following: First, epistemological analysis about a space of digital media in new media era requires poetical approach unlike aesthetic approach. We can endow creative action and creation process with significance and pay attention to technical method of manufacturing, stating appropriateness of perspective in digital poetics. Second, the justice of digital poetics and its basic thesis help derive analytic elements from medial space and study purpose of production, technical method, ontological characteristics, which are three perspectives of digital poetics. Third, it analyzed characteristics of example according to three perspectives above and we can analyze characteristics of spacial expression in space of digital media into potential, trans-active, and semiosis space. It would be possible through analyzing examples in digital poetic perspective to overlook new methods of design in 21th and various perspectives and possibilities of medial space design.
This study was carried out in order to explore possibility of artistic activity for strengthening creativity of the gifted children at home by analyzing influence of the gifted children's musical experience and interest level upon creativity. As a result of research, the gifted children's musical experience and interest level were distributed in the mid-lower rank as a whole. The mean in score of creativity was high. Among sub-spheres, originality, abstractness of titles, and resistance to premature closure were surveyed to be especially excellent. And the result of this study was indicated to be high in influence of musical experience and interest level upon creativity. Some conclusions and implications that were obtained through this study are as follows. First, to explore influence of musical experience as artistic activity upon creativity, first of all, the qualitative inspection needs to be given priority to musical activity itself, which is being experienced by the gifted children as the research subjects. Second, there is necessity of paying attention to the musical experience and interest level of the low gifted children. Third, for the gifted children prior to activation of art education, a clear reason why the art education is needed and the usefulness need to be presented.
Research on entrepreneurial giftedness is in its initial stage and the importance is increasing these days. The purpose of this article is to establish a foundation of entrepreneurial giftedness research by conceptualizing the concept and characteristics of entrepreneurial giftedness. The author reviewed prior research on entrepreneur and entrepreneurship, potential entrepreneur, gifted youth in invention, and entrepreneurial gifted youth, and proposed a new perspective on entrepreneurial gifted youth based on the findings from the review. Entrepreneurial giftedness proposed in this study is someone who is risk-taking to achieve opportunities and innovation and who has potential to be competent in managing resources. The author also proposed that entrepreneurial giftedness study needs to focus on developmental characteristics, management ability, and practical intelligence. Finally, based on the findings from previous research on entrepreneurial giftedness, environmental and personality characteristics, temperament and character, cognitive traits, and vocational interest of entrepreneurial giftedness are discussed. Implications and further research directions were discussed.
This study presents methods and alternative examples for fashion brands to effectively use video-based communication channels to form brand identity that analyzes the definition, status and type of YouTube channel fashion films as well as enables the ability to derive brand identity characteristics. Literature studies focused on Christian Dior's official website and related previous studies. The temporal range of the case studies was from October 7, 2010, the date when the first fashion film was uploaded to current Christian Dior YouTube to July 17, 2020 (the survey date), and there are a total of 550 subjects for quantitative analysis. The succession of the couture spirit means that Christian Dior's craftsmanship was created and passed down by Musée Christian Dior to act as a contemporary key element of brand identity. The iconic expression of femininity is Dior's core design philosophy that began when the woman image of a new era was presented through a new look, and Dior's femininity means a woman that reflects the character of the times as is interpreted as her own personality from the perspective of modernism through the creative directors of future generations. The brand's core identity code 'Miss Dior' expresses the brand's vision and eternity through perfume as well as targets Z generation male consumers through an emotional approach based on forms that used emotional images such as movie-type films.
Considerable interest has been directed toward utilizing virtual environment-based simulations for teacher education which provide authentic experience of classroom environment and repetitive training. Emotional Interaction should be considered for more advanced simulation learning performance. Since emotion is important factors in creative thinking, inspiration, concentration, and learning motivation, identifying learners' emotional interactions and applying these results to teaching simulation is essential activities. In this context, this study aims to identify the objective data for the empathetic response through the movement of the learner's EEG (Electroencephalogram) and eye-tracking, and to provide clues for designing emotional teaching simulation. The results of this study indicated that intended empathetic response was provided and in terms of valence (positive and negative) states and situational interest played an important role in determining areas of interest. The results of this study are expected to provide guidelines for the design of emotional interactions in simulations for teacher education as follow; (a) the development of avatars capable of expressing sophisticated emotions and (b) the development of scenarios suitable for situations that cause emotional reactions.
Animation production is collaborated by many experts and gives many ideas for new and interesting video production. Interesting video production is a problem directly related to the success of the project, so it can be said that it is better to create an environment that is not burdened with technical aspects in expressing ideas. In the actual keyframe animation production environment, ideas are frequently modified to obtain better results, and techniques that are re-used so that the animation key pose data developed at the early stage of the possible stage can be rewritten without abandoning it, and functions that can temporarily change the center of gravity contribute to the productivity of animation work and greatly help the creator to improve the creative atmosphere. This study analyzes action animations implemented in computer animation software to examine the factors that hinder actual productivity, and derives the technical concepts that can contribute to the improvement of animation production productivity and the necessity of developing related tools.
Differentiated positioning becomes increasingly difficult when brand salience weakens. Also, the daily increase in new media use and information load has led to a social climate that regards advertising stimuli as spamming. For these reasons, the focus of advertisement-related communication is shifting from persuading consumers through the direct delivery of information to an emphasis on appealing to their emotions using matching stimuli to enhance persuasion effects. Recently, both academia and industry have increasingly shown an interest in storytelling methods that can generate positive emotional responses and attitude changes by arousing consumers' narrative processing. The purpose of storytelling is to elicit consumers' emotional experience to meet the objectives of advertisement producers. Therefore, the most important requirement for storytelling in advertising is that it evokes consumers' sympathy for the main character in the advertisement. This does not involve advertisements directly persuading consumers, but rather, consumers themselves finding an answer through the advertisement's story. Thus, consumers have an indirect experience regarding the product features and usage through empathy with the advertisement's main character. In this study, we took the results of a precedent study as the starting point, according to which consumers' emotional response can be altered depending on the storytelling methods adopted for storytelling ads. Previous studies have reported that drama-type and vignette-type storytelling methods have a considerably different impact on the emotional responses of advertising audiences, due to their different structural characteristics. Thus, this study aims to verify that emotional response aroused by different types of advertisement storytelling (drama ads vs. vignette ads) can be controlled by the socio-psychological gender difference of advertising audiences and that the interaction effects between the socio-psychological gender differences of the audience and the gender stereotype of emotions to which advertisements appeal can exert an influence on emotional responses to types of storytelling in advertising. To achieve this, an experiment was conducted employing a between-group design consisting of 2 (storytelling type: drama ads vs. vignette ads) × 2 (socio-psychological gender of the audience: masculinity vs. femininity) × 2 (advertising appeal emotion type: male stereotype emotion vs. female stereotype emotion). The experiment revealed that the femininity group displayed a strong and consistent empathy for drama ads regardless of whether the ads appealed to masculine or feminine emotions, whereas the masculinity group displayed a stronger empathy for drama ads appealing to the emotional types matching its own gender as well as for vignette ads. The theoretical contribution of this study is significant in that it sheds light on the controllability of the audiences' emotional responses to advertisement storytelling depending on their socio-psychological gender and gender stereotype of emotions appealed to through advertising. Specifically, its considerable practical contribution consists in easing unnecessary creative constraints by comprehensively analyzing essential advertising strategic factors such as the target consumers' gender and the objective of the advertisement, in contrast to the oversimplified view of previous studies that considered emotional responses to storytelling ads were determined by the different types of production techniques used. This study revealed that emotional response to advertisement storytelling varies depending on the target gender of and emotion type appealed to by the advertisement. This suggests that an understanding of the targeted gender is necessary prior to producing an advertisement and that in deciding on an advertisement storytelling type, strategic attention should be directed to the advertisement's appeal concept or emotion type. Thus, it is safe to use drama-type storytelling that expresses masculine emotions (ex. fun, happy, encouraged) when the advertisement target, like Bacchus, includes both men and women. For brands and advertisements targeting only women (ex. female clothes), it is more effective to use a drama-type storytelling method that expresses feminine emotions (lovely, romantic, sad). The drama method can be still more effective than the vignette when women are the main target and a masculine concept-based creative is to be produced. However, when male consumers are targeted and the brand concept or advertisement concept is focused on feminine emotions (ex. romantic), vignette ads can more effectively induce empathy than drama ads.
The East has recognized 'similar forms' and 'similar spirits' as important topics in expressing an object. Figure painting, in particular, has attached importance to 'transmission of spirit'. Gu Kaizhi (345-406) definitely presented the transmission concept and made it the moot important criterion in painting criticism. By identifying the possibility of revealing spirit through a form, he recognized the 'expression of will' in a creator's work and the experience of such 'expressed will' by an appreciator to be the essential acts of art. Thus, he said, a figure painting revealed the character and nature of the depicted object rather than reproducing its form. Regarding art as a person creating the saintly way of life via developing own character, he attached importance to the will of an artist as the central aesthetic subject. This dissertation explores the keynote of the spirit expressing an artist's inner world and the external shape of a figure. It is carried out by investigating the process of Gu Kaizhi's theory (namely spirit transmission and revelation in painting) leading to Su Dongpo's assertion that "the nature of things" and later leading to Yun Duseo's "theory of the way of painting" as the spirit-transmission theory faithful to the principle of revealing spirit through a form in Chosun. The chronological study of the aforementioned works reveals that the relation between an artist and an object is important at the stage of setting aim in producing a work, and this dissertation analyzed it with four elements: (1) creating work based on the viewpoint of nature that heaven and man are one; (2) reflection of the creator's character (including his/her nature, temperament, spirituality, and emotion during the creation) and the artistic merit of a picture; (3) the dialectic unification between the true and the false through space which is a volitional state as creative thinking space; (4) importance of artist's will above the technique used such that a purposeless, inactive and plain work (where human will is combined with heavenly one) was pursued because the picture is regarded coming from the mind created in the unity of host/artist and guest/object. Thus, through his/her intuitive insight is the world where self is united with the cosmos symbolized. Such expression of an artist's inner world and the external shape of a thing pursues the stage of materialization and creates the new modes such as using space, a variety of brushstrokes, and accidentality and improvisation of India ink. In particular, the writer sees that such expression which enables a creator to express his/her nature or personality (and even the emotion) at the time of creation will be highly worth studying in the future, in accord with the pursuit of contemporary painting being expressed as an abstract aspect.
