This research proposes an implementation method of linearized equations of motion for multibody systems with closed loops. The null space of the constraint Jacobian is first pre-multiplied to the equations of motion to eliminate the Lagrange multiplier and the equations of motion are reduced down to a minimum set of ordinary differential equations. The resulting differential equations are functions of ail relative coordinates, velocities, and accelerations. Since the coordinates, velocities, and accelerations are tightly coupled by the position, velocity, and acceleration level constraints, direct substitution of the relationships among these variables yields very complicated equations to be implemented. As a consequence, the reduced equations of motion are perturbed with respect to the variations of all coordinates, velocities, and accelerations, which are coupled by the constraints. The position, velocity and acceleration level constraints are also perturbed to obtain the relationships between the variations of all relative coordinates, velocities, and accelerations and variations of the independent ones. The perturbed constraint equations are then simultaneously solved for variations of all coordinates, velocities, and accelerations only in terms of the variations of the independent coordinates, velocities, and accelerations. Finally, the relationships between the variations of all coordinates, velocities, accelerations and these of the independent ones are substituted into the variational equations of motion to obtain the linearized equations of motion only in terms of the independent coordinate, velocity, and acceleration variations.

The absorbing material is mostly used to changing the acoustic energy to the heat energy in the passive control, and that consists of the porous media. That controls an air borne noise while the stiffened plates, damping material and additional mass control a structure borne noise. The additional mass can decrease the sound by mass effect and shift of natural frequency, and damping material can decrease the sound by damping effect. The passive acoustic control using these kinds of control materials has an advantage that is possible to control the acoustic in the wide frequency band and the whole space at a price as compared with the active control using the various electronic circuit and actuator. But the space efficiency decreased and the control ability isn't up to the active control. So it is necessary to maximize the control ability in the specific frequency to raise the capacity of passive control minimizing the diminution of space efficiency such an active control. Therefore, the characteristics of control materials and the optimum layout of control materials that attached to the boundary of structure-acoustic coupled cavity were studied using sequential optimization on this study.

Switched reluctance motor(SRM) has simple magnetic structure, and requires simple power electronic driving circuit. It is very useful for wide range adjustable speed drive system. But, SRM drive generates large vibration and acoustic noise because it is commutated individually by step pulse m.m.f of each phase pole. In the vibration and acoustic noise characteristics. The considerable vibration and noise is induced by radial deforming of stator, so the frequency of dominant vibration and noise is coincident with the frequency of natural mode frequency of mechanical structure. This radial vibration force is generated in the phase commutation region. This paper suggests the new electromagnetic structure of SRM with auxiliary commutation winding which is excited by direct current. This phase and commutation winding are coupled magnetically between one phase winding and the other. Therefore, the switch-off phase current is absorbed by the another phase winding. By this interaction of phase and commutation winding in commutation mechanism, vibration and noise is reduced. And this reduction effect is examined by the test of prototype machine. As a result, SRM with DC exciting commutation winding is very useful to reduce vibration and acoustic noise.
The present study tackles the problem of forced vibration of imperfect axially functionally graded shell structure with truncated conical geometry. The linear and nonlinear large-deflection of the structure are considered in the mathematical formulation using von-Kármán models. Modified coupled stress method and principle of minimum virtual work are employed in the modeling to obtain the final governing equations. In addition, formulations of classical elasticity theory are also presented. Different functions, including the linear, convex, and exponential cross-section shapes, are considered in the grading material modeling along the thickness direction. The grading properties of the material are a direct result of the porosity change in the thickness direction. Vibration responses of the structure are calculated using the semi-analytical method of a couple of homotopy perturbation methods (HPM) and the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). Contradicting effects of small-scale, porosity, and volume fraction parameters on the nonlinear amplitude, frequency ratio, dynamic deflection, resonance frequency, and natural frequency are observed for shell structure under various boundary conditions.
Because of sandwich structures with low weight and high stiffness have much usage in various industries such as civil and aerospace engineering, in this article, buckling and free vibration analyses of coupled micro composite sandwich plates are investigated based on sinusoidal shear deformation (SSDT) and most general strain gradient theories (MGSGT). It is assumed that the sandwich structure rested on an orthotropic elastic foundation and make of four composite face sheets with temperature-dependent material properties that they reinforced by carbon and boron nitride nanotubes and two flexible transversely orthotropic cores. Mathematical formulation is presented using Hamilton's principle and governing equations of motions are derived based on energy approach and applying variation method for simply supported edges under electro-magneto-thermo-mechanical, axial buckling and pre-stresses loadings. In order to predict the effects of various parameters such as material length scale parameter, length to width ratio, length to thickness ratio, thickness of face sheets to core thickness ratio, nanotubes volume fraction, pre-stress load and orthotropic elastic medium on the natural frequencies and critical buckling load of double-bonded micro composite sandwich plates. It is found that orthotropic elastic medium has a special role on the system stability and increasing Winkler and Pasternak constants lead to enhance the natural frequency and critical buckling load of micro plates, while decrease natural frequency and critical buckling load with increasing temperature changes. Also, it is showed that pre-stresses due to help the axial buckling load causes that delay the buckling phenomenon. Moreover, it is concluded that the sandwich structures with orthotropic cores have high stiffness, but because they are not economical, thus it is necessary the sandwich plates reinforce by carbon or boron nitride nanotubes specially, because these nanotubes have important thermal and mechanical properties in comparison of the other reinforcement.
The global performance of the 5MW OC4 semisubmersible floating wind turbine in random waves was numerically simulated by using the turbine-floater-mooring fully coupled and time-domain dynamic analysis program FAST-CHARM3D. There have been many papers regarding floating offshore wind turbines but the effects of second-order wave-body interactions on their global performance have rarely been studied. The second-order wave forces are actually small compared to the first-order wave forces, but its effect cannot be ignored when the natural frequencies of a floating system are outside the wave-frequency range. In the case of semi-submersible platform, second-order difference-frequency wave-diffraction forces and moments become important since surge/sway and pitch/roll natural frequencies are lower than those of typical incident waves. The computational effort related to the full second-order diffraction calculation is typically very heavy, so in many cases, the simplified approach called Newman's approximation or first-order-wave-force-only are used. However, it needs to be justified against more complete solutions with full QTF (quadratic transfer function), which is a main subject of the present study. The numerically simulated results for the 5MW OC4 semisubmersible floating wind turbine by FAST-CHARM3D are also extensively compared with the DeepCWind model test results by Technip/NREL/UMaine. The predicted motions and mooring tensions for two white-noise input-wave spectra agree well against the measure values. In this paper, the numerical static-offset and free-decay tests are also conducted to verify the system stiffness, damping, and natural frequencies against the experimental results. They also agree well to verify that the dynamic system modeling is correct to the details. The performance of the simplified approaches instead of using the full QTF are also tested.

In this study, a cantilevered energy harvester comprising piezoelectric fiber and epoxy composites was designed and analyzed electro-mechanically. In order to maximize the power of the cantilevered energy harvester, its exciting frequency was tuned to the first natural frequency of the beam. An efficient analysis method for predicting the output voltage of the beam was developed by using the finite element method coupled with piezoelectric behavior. By using this method, the effects of geometric parameters and various piezoelectric materials on power generation were investigated and the electric characteristics were evaluated. Design optimization of the beam geometries was performed for a base model. The optimum MFC design generated a maximum electric output of 40.1 V at a first natural frequency of 24.5 Hz.
This paper investigates the free vibrations of cylindrical shells made of time-dependent materials for different viscoelastic models under various boundary conditions. During the extraction of equations, the displacement field is estimated through the first-order shear deformation theory taking into account the transverse normal strain effect. The constitutive equations follow Hooke's Law, and the kinematic relations are linear. The assumption of axisymmetric is included in the problem. The governing equations of thick viscoelastic cylindrical shell are determined for Maxwell, Kelvin-Voigt and the first and second types of Zener's models based on Hamilton's principle. The motion equations involve four coupled partial differential equations and an analytical method based on the elementary theory of differential equations is used for its solution. Relying on the results, the natural frequencies and mode shapes of viscoelastic shells are identified. Conducting a parametric study, we examine the effects of geometric and mechanical properties and boundary conditions, as well as the effect of transverse normal strain on natural frequencies. The results in this paper are compared against the results obtained from the finite elements analysis. The results suggest that solutions achieved from the two methods are ideally consistent in a special range.

In this paper, a experimental and theoretical study is carried out on the hydroelastic vibration for a rectangular bottom and side plate of tank. It is assumed that the tank wall is clamped along the plate edges. The fluid velocity potential is used for the simulation of fluid domain and to obtain the added mass due to plate vibration. It is assumed that the fluid is imcompressible and inviscid. Assumed mode method is utilized to the plate model and hydrodynamic force is obtained by the proposed approach. The coupled natural frequencies are obtained from the relationship between kinetic energies of a wall including fluid and the potential energy of the wall. The theoretical result is compared with the three-dimensional finite element method. In order to verify the result, modal test was carried out for bottom/side plate of tank model by using impact hammer. It was found the fundamental natural frequency of bottom plate is lower than that of side plate of tank and theoretical result was in good agreement with that of commercial three-dimensional finite element program.
