CFD/CSD 정밀 연계해석기법을 이용한 3차원 곡면날개의 가상 플러터 시험 (Virtual Flutter Test of Spanwise Curved Wings Using CFD/CSD Coupled Dynamic Method)

  • The coupled time-integration method with a staggered algorithm based on computational structural dynamics (CSD), finite element method (FEM) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been developed in order to demonstrate physical vibration phenomena due to dynamic aeroelastic excitations. Virtual flutter tests for the spanwise curved wing model have been effectively conducted using the present advanced computational methods with high speed parallel processing technique. In addition, the present system can simultaneously give a recorded data fie to generate virtual animation for the flutter safety test. The results for virtual flutter test are compared with the experimental data of wind tunnel test. It is shown from the results that the effect of spanwise curvature have a tendency to decrease the flutter dynamic pressure for the same flight condition.

  • A loosely coupling method is adopted to combine a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver and the comprehensive structural dynamics (CSD) code, CAMRAD II, in a systematic manner to correlate the airloads, vortex trajectories, blade motions, and structural loads of the HART I rotor in descending flight condition. A three-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes solver, KFLOW, using chimera overlapped grids has been used to simulate unsteady flow phenomena over helicopter rotor blades. The number of grids used in the CFD computation is about 24 million for the isolated rotor and about 37.6 million for the rotor-fuselage configuration while keeping the background grid spacing identical as 10% blade chord length. The prediction of blade airloads is compared with the experimental data. The current method predicts reasonably well the BVI phenomena of blade airloads. The vortices generated from the fuselage have an influence on airloads in the 1st and 4th quadrants of rotor disk. It appeared that presence of the pylon cylinder resulted in complex turbulent flow field behind the hub center.

  • In this study, computational demonstrations for the flutter suppression are presented for the 3-DOF airfoil system with oscillating flap. Advanced computational methods such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computational structural dynamics (CSD) are used and a simultaneous coupling method has been developed to accurately conduct flutter analyses. In addition, optimal control theory is integrated into the CFD based flutter analysis method to construct the coupled aeroservoelastic analysis system for the airfoil with oscillating flap. For a well-defined typical section model, fundamental unsteady aerodynamics and flutter characteristics are investigated. Finally, to show the effectiveness of flutter control the physical aeroelastic responses are directly compared between the open loop and the closed loop systems.

항공기 공력특성 예측을 위한 Navier-Stokes 방정식 기반의 정적 유체-구조 연계 해석 시스템 (A Static Fluid-Structure Interaction Analysis System Based on the Navier-Stokes Equations for the Prediction of Aerodynamic Characteristics of Aircraft)

  • 최근 구조변형을 고려한 항공기의 공력특성을 계산하는데 필요한 CFD와 CSD 기법이 연계된 FSI 시스템에 관한 관심이 증대하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 유체유발 구조 변형을 고려한 수렴된 구조형상에 대한 공력특성 예측을 위해 유체-구조 연계 시스템인 FSI(Fluid- Structure Interaction)를 구축하였다. 각 모듈의 연계, 특히 CSD와 CFD의 결합 및 변형된 형상에 대한 공력격자 재생성을 위해 VSI(Volume Spline Interpolation)와 격자 변형 코드를 개발하였으며, 공력과 구조의 해석 모듈로 상용 프로그램인 FLUENT와 NASTRAN을 사용하였다. 구축된 시스템을 DLR-F4 날개에 적용하여 정적 유체-구조 연구를 수행하였으며, 그 결과 마하수 0.75에서 변형된 형상에 대한 양력 및 항력 계수는 약 20.26%, 18.5% 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

Hypersonic Panel Flutter Analysis Using Coupled CFD-CSD Method

  • In this paper, a square simply supported panel flutter have been considered at high supersonic flow by using coupled fluid-structure (FSI) analysis that based on time domain method. The Reynolds-Average Navier Stokes (RANS) equation with Spalart-Allmaras turbulent model were applied for unsteady flow problems of panel flutter. A fully implicit time marching schemed based on the Newmark direct integration method is used for calculating the coupled aeroelastic governing equations of it. In addition, the SOL 145 solver of MSC.NASTRAN was used to investigate flutter velocity based on PK-method of Piston theory. Our numerical results indicated that there is a good agreement result between Piston Theory in MSC.NASTRAN and coupled fluid-structure analysis.

  • The fluid induced vibration (FIV) phenomena of a 2-D.O.F airfoil system have been investigated in low Reynolds number incompressible flow region. Unsteady flows with viscosity are computed using two-dimensional incompressible Navier-stokes code. To validate developed Navier-Stokes code, steady and unsteady flow fields around airfoil are analyzed. The present fluid/structure interaction analysis is based on the most accurate computational approach with computational fluid dynamics (CSD) and computational structural dynamics (CSD) techniques. The highly nonlinear fluid/structure interaction phenomena due to severe flow separations have been analyzed fur the low Reynolds region (R$_{N}$ =500~5000) that has a dominancy of flow viscosity. The effect of R$_{N}$ on the fluid/structure coupled vibration instability of 2-DOF airfoil system is presented and the effect of initial angle of attack on the dynamic instability are also shown.own.

Advanced computational analysis system based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD) and computational structural dynamics(CSD) has been developed in order to investigate fluid/structure responses of general stator-rotor configurations. To solve the fluid/structure coupled problems, fluid domains are modeled using the structural grid system with dynamic moving and local deforming techniques. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with Spalart-Allmaras(S-A) and SST ${\kappa}-{\omega}$ turbulence models are solved for unsteady flow problems. A fully implicit time marching scheme based on the Newmark direct integration method is used for computing the coupled aeroelastic governing equations of the 3-D turbine blades for fluid-structure interaction(FSI) problems. Detailed fluid/structure analysis responses for stator-rotor interaction flow conditions are presented to show the physical performance and flow characteristics.
