Underground pipe is an instrument to transport rapidly and safely a lot of fluid like gas, oil, water supply and drain system. It acts like blood vessels of human body in a modern industry. As in this country, the pipe facilities have been constructing since 1970's. The pipes constructed for a long time ago are already starting to reveal the problem like corrosion and most of them are built underground. So for companies, the managing of the underground pipes is very hard because it needs high technology and a lot of money. So we made a new robot system to repair and maintain the pipes at a low price. This new robot is devised using pressing wall type to work inside 700${\sim}$900(mm) size pipe. And it has good carrying and working power.

In DC electric railways, while an electric rail car is driving, a part of the working current returned to the substation through rails leaks into the ground. Such a stray current causes railway facilities and metal objects to corrode electrolytically. Therefore, change of stray current needs to be monitored constantly. But so far in domestic, the research on stray current measuring techniques and system adaption are insufficient. To estimate stray current, this paper addresses a method of monitoring the return current that is returned into the negative pole of the substation in real time.

Recently, many countries are making efforts for the development of ocean resources because the necessity and importance of the ocean resources are increased. Underwater sensor networks have emerged as a very powerful technique for many applications, including monitoring, measurement, surveillance and control and envisioned to enable applications for oceanographic data collection, ocean sampling, environmental and pollution monitoring, offshore exploration, disaster prevention, tsunami and seaquake warning, assisted navigation, distributed tactical surveillance, and mine reconnaissance. The idea of applying sensor networks into underwater environments (i.e., forming underwater sensor networks) has received increasing interests in monitoring aquatic environments for scientific, environmental, commercial, safety, and military reasons. The data obtained by observing around the environment are wireless-transmitted by a radio set with various waves. According to the technical development of the medium set, some parameters restricted in observing the ocean have been gradually developed with the solution of power, distance, and corrosion and watertight by the seawater. The actual matters such as variety of required data, real-time observation, and data transmission, however, have not enough been improved just as various telecommunication systems on the land. In this paper, a wireless management system will be studied through a setup of wireless network available at fishery around the coast, real-time environmental observation with RF sensor, and data collection by a sensing device at the coastal areas.

Moisture infiltration inside the solar cell module, filling of EVA sheet, melting of the frame seal, and deterioration of power generation performance in the module one year after installation are occurring. Whitening phenomenon, electrode corrosion phenomenon, and dielectric breakdown phenomenon are appearing in solar cell module installed in Korea before 5-7 years, leading to deterioration of power generation performance, and big problems for long-term reliability and long life technology are emerging. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, the development of a micro inverter (MiCrco Inverter Converter, MiC) including the function of securing the durability of the solar cell module and monitoring the aging progress and the solar cell based on the monitoring data from the MiC smart monitoring programs have been proposed to determine the aging of modules. In addition, in order to become a highly efficient solar smart monitoring system through systematic operation management through IT convergence with MiC that has enhanced monitoring function of solar cell module, SoC(System On Chip) in micro inverter is the environment for solar cell module. There is a demand for functions that can detect information in a complex manner and perform communication and control when necessary. Based on these requirements, this paper aims to develop SoC-based low-cost MiC smart photovoltaic system technology.
This paper introduces Primetals Technologies' Through-Process Optimization (TPO) Services and Through-Process Quality Control (TPQC) System, which integrate domain knowledge, software, and automation expertise to assist steel producers in achieving operational excellence. TPQC collects high-resolution process and product data from the entire production route, providing visualizations and facilitating quality assurance. It also enables the application of artificial intelligence techniques to optimize processes, accelerate steel grade development, and enhance product quality. The main objective of TPO is to grow and digitize operational know-how, increase profitability, and better meet customer needs. The paper describes the contribution of these systems to achieving operational excellence, with a focus on quality assurance. Transparent and traceable production data is used for manual and automatic quality evaluation, resulting in product quality status and guiding the product disposition process. Deviation management is supported by rule-based and AI-based assistants, along with monitoring, alarming, and reporting functions ensuring early recognition of deviations. Embedded root cause proposals and their corrective and compensatory actions facilitate decision support to maintain product quality. Quality indicators and predictive quality models further enhance the efficiency of the quality assurance process. Utilizing the quality assurance software package, TPQC acts as a "one-truth" platform for product quality key players.
To maintain water quality after water treatment, monitoring whether the quality of treated tap water quality changes is essential. However, current investigations are insufficient to prevent secondary contamination in drinking water supply systems. This study investigated Gyeonggi's e apartment where a red water problem occurred and monitored the water quality and corrosiveness of the overall water supply system to the apartment from June 2021 to April 2022. In a comparison of drinking water quality after water treatment and the influent of the reservoir, turbidity and heavy metal concentrations were increased and residual chlorine was decreased due to increases in temperature. Correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA) indicated that a low level of residual chlorine may cause the abscission of Mn2+ and Fe2+ through microorganism activation, which also causes a high level of turbidity. The corrosion index (LI) in the influent of the reservoir tank was increased due to Ca2+ and temperature. These results indicate that the corrosiveness of drinking water and the deterioration of drinking water quality were mainly increased between the drinking water treatment plant and the reservoir tank's influent. The findings provide clear evidence that it is essential to manage water supply systems and reservoir tanks to prevent the secondary contamination of drinking water.

The pipe laid underground more than three decades ago are already starting to reveal the problem like corrosion. There have been many studies to design robotic system for a cost-effective revival of old pipes. And the ability to inspect in the pipes, the ability to treat and repaint the pipes and the fault-tolerant robotic system are well known important factors for the robotic system. It's real hard part to manage the underground pipes for companies because it needs high technical and too much money. According to this reasons, in this paper, we had design an in-pipe robotic system having abilities to inspect outworn pipes, to treat and paint old pipes. This new robot system is pressing wall type robot, and it has a good carrying power for working.
Steel structure construction is currently increasing on account of the many merits of steel structures. Due to numerous environmental factors, many cracks and extensive corrosion occur in steel structures, which cause the deterioration of the performance and life cycle of such structures. Maintenance of steel structures is thus strongly demanded, for safety control. The inspection methods that are currently being used, however, are very limited and can detect only local defects in steel structures. They also take much time to use and incur high maintenance costs. Moreover, such methods cannot be applied to huge steel structures, which men find unapproachable. They also require much time due to the need for periodic checks, and may lead to cost loss. Therefore, the development of a monitoring system that can detect defects in whole structures and can reduce the repair and strengthening costs at an early stage is very much needed. In this study, the generation and propagation of cracks were monitored via the electric-potential-drop method (EPDM).
An advanced nuclear reactor based on molten salts including a molten salt reactor and pyroprocessing needs a sensitive monitoring system suitable for operation in harsh environments with limited access. Multi-element detection is challenging with the conventional technologies that are compatible with the in-situ operation; hence laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been investigated as a potential alternative. However, limited precision is a chronic problem with LIBS. We increased the precision of LIBS under high temperature by protecting optics using a gas protective layer and correcting for shotto-shot variance and lens-to-sample distance using a laser-induced acoustic signal. This study investigates cerium as a surrogate for uranium and corrosion products for simulating corrosive environments in LiCl-KCl. While the un-corrected limit of detection (LOD) range is 425-513 ppm, the acoustic-corrected LOD range is 360-397 ppm. The typical cerium concentrations in pyroprocessing are about two orders of magnitude higher than the LOD found in this study. A LIBS monitoring system that adopts these methods could have a significant impact on the ability to monitor and provide early detection of the transient behavior of salt composition in advanced molten salt-based nuclear reactors.
Electrodes are an important part of electrocardiography (ECG); disposable electrodes have been extensively used. However, personal ECG monitoring devices for Internet of Things applications require reusable electrodes. As there have been no systematic studies on the characteristics of reusable electrodes to date, we conducted this study to assess the performance and feasibility of electrodes with different materials. We built reusable electrodes using twelve different metallic materials, including commonly used copper, silver, zinc, plating materials, chemically inert titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum. Each electrode was fabricated to a size of $5{\times}10mm$. Their characteristics such as offset, baseline drift, stabilization time, and chemical inertness were compared. A personal ECG monitoring system was used to test the manufactured electrodes. The performances of the Ag, Cu, and Zn electrodes were better than the performances of other electrodes. However, these materials may not be used owing to the chemical changes that occur when the electrodes are in contact with the skin, such as discoloration and corrosion, which deteriorate their electrical characteristics. Titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum are chemically stable. The titanium electrode showed the best performance among the three, and it is our recommendation as a material for manufacturing reusable electrodes.
