Purpose: The purpose of this study was to define cognition of the preceptors on the preceptor's role stress and competency pre-post preceptorship experience. Method: This study was designed as a one group pre-test and post-test study. The subjects of this study were 22 preceptors who had the preceptor preparation education and then worked as preceptor for four weeks at a university hospital. For data analyses, percentage, mean, paired t-test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient were adopted with the use of SPSS WIN 10.0. Result: The results of this study showed that after the preceptorship experience, role stress of the preceptor decreased significantly compared to before the preceptorship experience. All of the score of sub domains was decreased. Especially, there was a significantly difference in education conducting and evaluation, personal relation and communication, professional development. Also, after the preceptorship experience, competency of the preceptor increased significantly compared to before the preceptorship experience. All of the score of sub domains was increased. Particularly, there was a significantly difference in socialization facilitator and educator except learning planning performance. There was a significant positive correlation between educational experience and the number of learner before preceptorship experience of general characteristics and competency, but was not correlation between general characteristics and role stress. Also there was not correlation between role stress and competency. Conclusion: The finding above indicated that the preceptorship was effective in decreasing preceptor's role and increasing preceptor's competency.
Purpose : This study aims to examine hospital employees' subjective symptoms of VDT syndrome (Video display terminal syndrome) and figure out their effects on health conditions and correlations. Materials and Methods : This study used a structured self-administering questionnaire and gained data from 125 subjects. The questionnaire consists of total 62 questions, and they went through real number, percentage, ${\chi}^2$-terst, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and logistic regression analysis. Results : Regarding the difference in the types of subjective symptoms of VDT syndrome by jobs, there was statistically significant difference in ophthalmic symptoms, systemic symptoms, and musculoskeletal symptoms. About the correlation between the subjective symptom points of VDT syndrome by the types of symptoms, there was statistically significant correlation all in skin trouble, backache, upper limb muscle pain, lower limb muscle pain, fatigue in the head and eyes, and depression or anxiety disorders. There was significant correlation between the subjective symptom points of VDT syndrome and subjective health conditions. Conclusion : Hospital employees' subjective health conditions had significant correlation with subjective symptom points of VDT syndrome. This result shows that as radiologists' and also other hospital employees' working conditions change into VDT environment, VDT syndrome gradually appears more and more. This implies that it is needed to designate not only radiologists but also all the other hospital employees as jobs exposed to the working environment of VDT syndrome and provide preventive measures, education, and publicity for it afterwards.
The thyroid is the organ that has the greatest risk of malignant tumors among the endocrine tumors. The papillary carcinoma occupies 80% of the entire thyroid tumors. Immunohistochemical staining of galectin-3 has usually been used in differentiating papillary carcinoma and follicular carcinoma. The p53 gene of the cell cycle is a tumor suppressor gene acting in on the control points. The cyclin D1 genes in the cell cycle, involved in the implementation of G1 and S phase, plays an important role in the progression of thyroid tumors. This research compares and analyzes correlation between papillary carcinoma, follicular carcinoma, p53, cyclin D1 and galectin-3 gene expression patterns. In a total of 30 cases from papillary carcinoma, 21 cases from p53 (70%), 27 cases in galectin-3 (90%), and 26 cases in cyclin D1 (86.7%) showed positive rate. The galectin-3 staining investigated, showed a significant difference between a papillary carcinoma and a follicular carcinoma. Follicular carcinoma from 15 cases, p53 in 13 cases (86.7%), galectin-3 in 5 cases (33.3%) and cyclin D1 in 12 cases (80%) showed a positive rate. The cyclin D1 in follicular carcinoma and staining between the p53 that had correlation was also investigated. In this study, as the examples of the expression of the 27 cases of galectin-3 (90%) in papillary carcinoma and 5 cases in follicular carcinoma (33.3%) indicate, it was concluded that there is a difference in the expression on both carcinoma. In addition, cyclin D1 and p53 has a positive rate in follicular carcinoma, when cyclin D1 in 12 cases (80%), there was a significant correlation that was investigated. Distinguishing between papillary carcinoma and follicular carcinoma can be identified by the expression of galectin-3. It is considered to get results that are more accurate in follicular carcinoma diagnosis depending on whether the cyclin D1 and p53 is expressed or not.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to obtain data that can be utilized in the planning of oral health education plan, by surveying the correlation between oral health knowledge, attitude, and behavior among high grade students elementary school in some regions of the metropolitan. This research collected the curriculum for Dental Technology from a total of 20 schools -3-year colleges and 4-year colleges- all in Korea. And we analyzed the average credits of subjects from students. As a result of this analysis, we get the conclusion below: 1. In a distribution which students answered about each subjects; Seminar, Dental morphology I II, Dental morphology practice I II, and Dental devices & instruments don't have many credits and mostly have a converged tendency in high points, according to the arithmetic mean of the major basis subjects. 2. In an analysis of the correlation which is based on the distinction of sex: Complete denture prosthodontics I II III, Dental orthodontics I II, Dental orthodontics practice I II, and Dental orthodontics & practice III have a meaningful difference. ($\rho$< 0.05 ) 3. In an analysis of the correlation which is based on an age The major basis subjects -Introduction to dental technology, Dental esthetic, and Dental casting procedure-, and the major application subjects -Crown and bridge prosthodontics practice, Complete denture prosthodontics, Dental orthodontics, Dental orthodontics practice, and Operative dentistry laboratory technology- have meaningful difference. ($\rho$< 0.05 ) 4. In a correlation coefficient between subjects; The correlation coefficient of the major application subjects is higher than the major basis subjects. According to the student - t, we found that the level of significance is $\rho$< 0.001, which is meaningful. We feel the lack of a limitation which we didn't survey all students who are major in Department of Dental Technology. And we also feel that we'd better to consider not only students who being in college but also graduated students.
The purpose of this research is to study the middle and high school student’s value on the family life of the contemporary society. The data for this study has been collected for 808 students of kangwon-do by Liert-scale Type questionnaire. The data were processed by SPSS-X Program. Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, One-way ANOVA, Pearson’r coefficient, Step-wise multiple regression and Cronbach’coefficient have been calculated and analyzed. The Summary of this research is described as follows. Firstly, the overall average of value of family life was 3.25 points which reflected more or less modern tendency. Secondly, significant difference in the student’s value of family life affected by environmental variables were such as sex(P<.001) school years(P<.001) group(P<.01). Thirdly, the overall average of the student’s interest in the home economics was 3.74 points which reflected heigher tendency, Significant difference in the student’s interest in the home economics according to environmental variables were such as sex(P<.001) school years(P<.05), living standard(P<.01), residential area(P<.001). Fourthly, the student’s overall interest in the home economics and their view on the family life were correlated as follows; Spare time(r=-1.3), parents-children(r=.12) relatives and neighbors(r=0.8) show lower correlation and household work(r=.07) show higher correlation. Fifthly, the area which has closest correlation with the value on the family life was the value on family economics, whereas is has been shown that the field with least correlation was the area of supporting the spare time. Sixthly changes that affect the student’s value of the family life were such as sex (${\beta}$=.43), school years(${\beta}$=.18), group(${\beta}$=.15) and interest degrees(${\beta}$=-.12). These whole explanatory power was 21%.
The purpose of the study was to develop and evaluate the reliability of a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SFFQ) intended to measure mainly nutrient intake (energy, protein, fat, calcium and iron) related to growth in pre-schoolers in Korea. Based on foods with up to 90 cumulative percent contribution of the 5 nutrients, we developed a SFFQ for 86 foods. In order to evaluate the reliability of both nutrient and food intakes, caregivers of a sample of 101 children aged 4 to 6 years completed the SFFQ repeatedly at 3 month intervals. There were small differences in the nutrient intakes assessed by the SFFQ ranging from 0.55% to 9.91%. There were no significant differences in nutrient values calculated from the repeat questionnaires, except in the case of niacin and vitamin C. The Pearson correlation coefficients of most of the nutrients ranged form 0.54 to 0.75 (mean = 0.66). When energy intake was adjusted, there was approximately a 0.2 decrease in the correlation coefficient of most nutrients, due to the high correlation of energy intake with other nutrients (r=0.7-0.9). The amount of food intake differed by 0.1 to 66.4% (mean = 17.5%), depending on the food item. Out of 86 foods, 74 foods (86%) showed less than a 30% difference in intake and 30 foods (35%) showed less than a 10% difference. Only 6 (7%) out of the 86 foods presented statistically significant differences in intake. The Spearman correlation coefficients of most food intakes assessed repeatedly by the SFFQ ranged from 0.4 to 0.7. Reproducibility of the nutrient and food intakes found in this study was better or similar to those found in cases of Korean adults. Therefore, the SFFQ developed in the present study can be a useful tool to assess the dietary intake of pre-schoolers in Korea.
'Adolescence' is a critical period in the process of growing and aging but important in that an adolescent becomes aware of and begins to look about him or her self. Especially with girls in their late teens (15$\~$18), they pay more attention to their looks and clothes than the boys do, which affects to some extent the formation of their personality and their behavior. From this point .of view. it is significant to establish the standard size of high-school girls' clothes. This study aims to measure high-school girls in size and to establish the standard size of their clothes; furthermore. to enable them to lead a satisfactory living with more appropriate size of clothes. The results, analyzed by two different representing items which resulted in little difference, are as belows: 1) Stature had a significant correlation with posterior waist height; bust girth had the most significant correlation with weight. and also some considerable correlation with other representing items; 2) The F-test result showed significant difference on $1\%$ level over all the items between the measured (Y) and the estimated (Y); the correlation among the representing items was considerable also; 3) When the measurement increases in stature by 4cm, bust girth by 4cm. and posterior shoulder width by 2cm respectively, the increase or decrease in other items are as shown on Table 4. Since this study was carried out in girls' high-schools in Seoul, it is expected to extend its further study throughout the nation. thus contributing to comprehending the whole truth of people's body-size and promoting the fabrication and modelling of the original clothes for the nation by the strict standard size up to making ready-made clothes with no difficulty in setting the standard and model size.
This study intended to investigate the concept of Clothing Involvement and Brand and to provide useful basic data for building on affective brand strategy. The purpose of this study is as follows: first, It is to measure the result of Brand Extension attitudes and Brand Extension items by clothing involvement (high involvement/low involvement). Second, It is to classify the factors of Clothing Involvement which suggested in theoretical research and to clarify correlation between clothing involvement factor and brand evaluation, brand extension attitudes. Third, It is to investigate the affect that clothing involvement, demographic variable and brand type on Brand Extension Evaluation. Subjects of this study were the adult women in Seoul, who were extracted by sampling randomly during the fall of 1995. Questionnaire was used as major method of gathering data. They were analyzed by the SAS method such as Frequency, Anova, Duncan, Correlation, multiple regression, Factor analysis. Main result of this study were as follows : 1. In brand extension attitude evaluation by high-involve group and low-involve group, quality, reputation and buying intension of brand extension attitudes showed significant difference. B brand extension attitudes and items of high-involve group was high compare to low-involve stoup. High-involve group evaluated watch, underwear, shoes and stocking of extension items highly, and there is no involvement difference of perfume, parasol, cushion. 2. In order to classify the dimension of Clothing Involvement, it was carried out factor analysis. 1 found that Clothing Involvement was composed of 4 factors, namely, interest - fashion.perceived risk symbolism. Correlation between clothing involvement and brand extension attitude was as followed; Interest factor of clothing involvement was correlated the existing brand attitude. Brand preference of the existing brand attitude was related the image of brand extension attitude, interest of advertising was the quality and the reputation-image was the buying intension. 3. For evaluation of a factor influenced on Brand Extension, it was produced multiple -regression test. Demographic variables and brand types had some influence of Clothing Involvement and Clothing Involvement had on brand extension. 27% of interest, 26% of symbolism was explained by brand types and 15% of fashion, 6% of perceived risk was explained by brand types, demographic variables. And, 10% of brand extension was explained by interest, fashion and symbolism.
Purpose: This study aimed to generate 3-D occlusal curvatures and evaluate the relationship between the occlusal curvatures and mandibular occlusal morphology factors. Methods: Mandibular dental casts from 25 young adult Korean were scanned as a virtual dental models with a 3-D scanner(Scanner S600, Zirkonzahn, Italy). The curve of Spee, curve of Wilson, and Monson's sphere were generated by fitting a circle/sphere to the cusp tips using a least-squares method. The mandibular mesiodistal cusp inclination, buccolingual cusp inclination, and tooth wear parameters were measured on the prepared virtual models using RapidForm2004(INUS technology INC, Seoul, Korea). Wilcoxon signed-rank test was performed to test side difference, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficients were investigated to verify the correlation between occlusal curvatures and correlated factors (a=0.05). Results: The mean radii of curve of Spee were $83.09{\pm}33.94$ in the left side and $79.00{\pm}28.12mm$ in the right side. The mean radii of curve of Wilson were $66.82{\pm}15.87mm$ in the mesial side and $47.87{\pm}9.40mm$ in the distal side with significantly difference between mesiodistal sides(p<0.001). The mean radius of Monson's sphere was $121.85{\pm}47.11mm$. Most of the cusp inclination parameters showed negative correlation for the radius of Monson' sphere(p<0.05). Especially, the buccolingual cusp inclinations in mesial side of molar showed high correlation coefficients among the factors(p<0.05). Conclusion: The radius of Monson's sphere was greater than the classical 4-inch values, and the buccolingual cusp inclinations in mesial side of molar can be considered as one of the main factors correlating with the radius of Monson's sphere.
