  • Recently, security issues on industrial technology are undergoing rapid changes around the world. Developed countries are establishing response strategies to protect their own core technologies while creating conflicts with global value chains and foreign capital movement. Also in Korea, we are approaching industrial security issues in the mid- to long-term industrial competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to survey on the awareness of the industrial security ecosystem and derive key policy issues. Based on a three round survey, four policies were suggested as followings : systemization of industrial security control tower, enhancement of security company's technical skills and training of security specialists, improvement of technology leakage prevention system through retirement personnel and M&A, reinforcement of research security in R&D process and proactive technology protection. It is hoped that this study will serve as a basis for policy-making as an evidence-based study reflecting the policy demands of industrial security.

  • Pressing demands of economic competitiveness, the need for large-scale deployment, minimizing the need of human intervention, and experience from the past events and incidents at operating reactors have guided the evolution and innovations in reactor technologies. Indian innovative reactor 'AHWR' is a pressure-tube type natural circulation based boiling water reactor that is designed to meet such requirements, which essentially reflect the needs of next generation reactors. The reactor employs various passive features to prevent and mitigate accidental conditions, like a slightly negative void reactivity coefficient, passive poison injection to scram the reactor in event of failure of the wired shutdown systems, a large elevated pool of water as a heat sink inside the containment, passive decay heat removal based on natural circulation and passive valves, passive ECC injection, etc. It is designed to meet the fundamental safety requirements of safe shutdown, safe decay heat removal and confinement of activity with no impact in public domain, and hence, no need for emergency planning under all conceivable scenarios. This paper examines the role of the various passive safety systems in prevention and mitigation of severe plant conditions that may arise in event of multiple failures. For the purpose of demonstration of the effectiveness of its passive features, postulated scenarios on the lines of three major severe accidents in the history of nuclear power reactors are considered, namely; the Three Mile Island (TMI), Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents. Severe plant conditions along the lines of these scenarios are postulated to the extent conceivable in the reactor under consideration and analyzed using best estimate system thermal-hydraulics code RELAP5/Mod3.2. It is found that the various passive systems incorporated enable the reactor to tolerate the postulated accident conditions without causing severe plant conditions and core degradation.

  • Conventional physicochemical technologies for algae growth inhibition have economical and environmental pollution problems. This study attempted to overcome the problems by nature-friendly biological inhibition technology using fibrous carrier. The experimental results showed that the most effective carrier material, polyester, exhibited the highest biofilm thickness. The removal efficiency for nutrient salts, such as nitrogen and phosphorous, and algae growth inhibition of polyester carrier was 14.59%, 6.36%, and 77%, respectively, which is higher than for control group. These result indicate that the polyester carrier is available in eutrophic lake.

  • [ $TiO_2-Fe_2O_3$ ] nanocomposite powders for magnetic photocatalyst were synthesized by sol-gel process, in which $TiO_2$ photocatalytic layer was formed on the surface of $\gamma-Fe_2O_3$ magnetic core. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation and X-ray diffractometry (XRD) analysis revealed that$\gamma-Fe_2O_3$ nanoparticles, $10\~20nm$ in diameter, were coated by $TiO_2$ shell of 5nm in thickness and $TiO_2$ was anatase phase. Also hydroxyl group (-OH) used to decompose organic compounds was detected by Fourier transformation infrared spectrometry(FT-IR) analysis. UV-Visible spectrophotometry results showed that light absorption occurred in the wavelength range of $400\~700 nm$, and the band gap energy $(E_g)$ of powder was 1.8 eV. Finally it was found that the coercivity $(H({ci})$ and saturation magnetization $(M_s)$ of the powder were 79 Oe and 14.8 emu/g, respectively as experimental vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) measurements.

  • This study shows the field of construction which was less developed in the aspect of information system in comparison to other areas needs to introduce construction information system and suggests it can make more value linked with company performance through the system. For the first step, it emphasizes the integrated enterprise approach not optimization of each sector in a company. This paper extracts the current issues of construction information from the core process of construction area and implies a driving plan and the future development plan for construction information. Antecedent studies for this drew the information structure model and the construction information-driving model of a construction company. Hence, case studies with management companies that implemented the construction information system successfully tested validity. This research brings the cases of PMS, the integrated finance system, and CRM system as successful ones.

  • The stable anchorage of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP) in the active site of D-amino acid transaminase (D-AT) is crucial for the enzyme catalysis. The three-dimensional structure of D-AT revealed that Glu32 is one of the active site groups that may playa role in PLP binding. To prove the role of Glu32 in PLP stability, we firstly checked the rate of the potential rate-limiting step. The kinetic analysis showed that the rate of the ${\alpha}$-deprotonation step reduced to 26-folds in E32A mutant enzyme. Spectral analyses of the reaction of D-AT with D-serine revealed that the E32A mutant enzyme failed to stabilize the key enzyme-substrate intermediate, namely a quinonoid intermediate (E-Q). Finally, analysis of circular dichroism (CD) on the wild-type and E32A mutant enzymes showed that the optical activity of PLP in the enzyme active site was lost by the removal of the carboxylic group, proving that Glu32 is indeed involved in the cofactor anchorage. The results suggested that the electrostatic interaction network through the groups from PLP, Glu32, His47, and Arg50, which was observed from the three-dimensional structure of the enzyme, plays a crucial role in the stable anchorage of the cofactor to give necessary torsion to the plane of the cofactor-substrate complex.

  • Diversification of college admission system has recently brought up the problem of system fairness. Studies on fairness of college admission system mainly focused on policy proposal or investigation of teacher's perception. Different from previous works, this study aims to analyze college students' perceptions of fairness of the current college admission system. This study used grounded theory and interviews from eleven students. Results of analysis are as follows. Causal condition proved to be frequent change in admission system happened in the course of diversifying admission criteria. The core phenomenon is fundamental unfairness in both procedural and substantive aspects of admission system. Contextual condition is information and infrastructure asymmetry among students which has a root in regional gap in Korea. Mediatory condition is advance of information technology and individual or group effort to overcome disadvantages. In conclusion, students consider that unfairness in college admission system reflects social structural problems that cannot be solved in a one-time prescription.

  • The great strategy of China has been changing depending on the time, change of surrounding environment and personality of leaders of the time. However, the process of the change was not the drastic change but has maintained the consistency through the course of modification and development. The great strategy of Mao Ze-dong was to have the objective in 'World Great Nation' with the facilitation of the 'Surpass Strategy' and 'Autonomy, Independence and Alliance strategy' to successfully build up the political great nation, but he entrapped China's politics and economy into the point of no return by excessive war preparation under 'The Principle of Inevitable World War', striving of rapid communism and other policies. The Deng Xiao-ping era also targeted for ‘World Great Nation’ but, unlike Mao Ze-dong, he had the foundation in the 'The Principle of Evitable World War' and undertook the ‘Peace and Development Strategy’ and ‘Peaceful Coexistence' to build up the advantageous surrounding environment for China to focus on the economic construction as the core of the nation by establishing ‘The Reform and Opening Strategy’ and 'Three-step Development Strategy‘ to have the successful soft landing of the Chinese economy with the astonishing economic development. The system of leader's group of China after Deng Xiao-ping succeeded the practical and realistic spirit of Deng Xia-ping, and based on the drastically grown economic strength, the great strategy of China is on the ‘The Great Reinvigoration of Chinese Nation’. This is one step further from the strategy of 'World Great Nation' of the past that it embraces all the minority races in China, Chinese economic sphere, foreign citizens of Chinese origin as well as Chinese residing abroad. China contemplates the time of making 'The Great Reinvigoration of Chinese Nation’ in 2050, 100 anniversary of the birth of new China.

  • The growth of the Internet over the last several years has placed a tremendous strain on the high bandwidth Hence, the amount of internet traffic has risen sharply and it has demanded to use the limited resource. MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) is regarded as a core technology for migrating to the next generation Internet. It is important to reduce the number of labels and LSP(Label Switched Path)s for network resource management. In this thesis, we considered an MPLS multicast mechanism in the current Internet. The scalability problem due to lack of labels and multicast property is one of the serious problems in MPLS multicast mechanism, we proposed a Label Aggregation algorithm that the multicast packets on same link in MPLS allocates the same label for the scalability problem. In order to support the proposed algorithm we defined a new LDP(Label Distribution Protocol) multicast field and multicast packet is copied and transmitted for multicast group links of next node in LSR(label Switch Router).
