The objectives of this study were to understand sexual attitudes and coping behavior of elderly people and to examine the mediating effects of the sexual coping behavior on the sexual attitudes and life satisfaction in order to improve the quality of life of elderly people. The survey was conducted on 305 elderly people at home living. As a result, in relation to the sexual attitudes of elderly people, it was shown that the 'rational sexual attitude' was the highest and the 'liberal sexual attitude' was higher than the 'traditional sexual attitude' among the subordinate factors. This study showed that there was a significant correlation between the sexual attitude, sexual coping behavior and life satisfaction. Furthermore, it is shown that the sexual coping behavior significantly mediates the relation between the liberal sexual attitude and life satisfaction of elderly people at home.
This study investigated characteristics of children's coping behaviors in the context of perceived controllability of stress in hassles with parent(s), friend-alienation, friend-conflict, and in learning situations. The subjects were 489 sixth grade children selected from seven elementary schools in Seoul. Statistical analysis was by ANOVA, Scheffe' test, and MANOVA. Major findings were that (1) Active, passive, aggressive, and avoidant coping differed by perceived controllability of stress in all 4 stress situations. The children who perceived a higher level of controllability were more active, and less passive, aggressive, and avoidant in coping with each hassle. (2) Perceived controllability was higher in learning related than in friend-conflict situations. Active, passive, and social support seeking coping behavior was higher in learning related stress situations than in friend-conflict situations. Avoidant coping behavior was lower in learning related than in friend-conflict situations.

This study examines the relationship between financial behavior, financial literacy, self-efficacy, and self-coping among emerging adults. The study population is 790 respondents from 11 Credit Counselling and Debt Management (CCDM). Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to analyze Pearson Correlation and Multiple regression. It was used to determine the relationships and recognize determinants of emerging adults' financial behavior respectively. In this study, financial literacy, self-efficacy, self-coping, and financial behavior variables were entered into the regression. A total of 790 respondents aged 40 and below were selected. An independent sample t-test was administered to compare the financial behavior scores for females and males. The results reveal that there was significant difference in the mean of financial behavior scores for females (M = 87.20, SD = 18.00) and males (M = 89.70, SD = 16.80; t (765) = 2.010, p = 0.045, two-tailed). The multiple regression results indicate that the model explained 13.4% of the variance in financial behavior, which is predicted significantly by the model (F = 38.361, p = 0.000). This study will be beneficial to policymakers to improve living conditions and to promote good financial behavior, financial literacy, self-efficacy as well as self-coping especially for emerging adults in Malaysia.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of marital characteristics on the marital stability among the elderly couples. Each participant was measured using a scale for the concept of marriage, a scale for marital coherence, a marital stress scale, a coping behavior scale and a marital stability scale. Elderly people who have a living spouse and who are living In Seoul were recruited. The data from two hundred and forty participants over 60-years-old were used in the final analyses. Major findings are as follows First, demographic factors such as educational level, health, economic status, the main source of income, and employment status appeared to significantly predict the elderly folks'marital stability Second, gender seems to be a factor In elderly couples'experience of marital stability. Husbands perceived marital stability to be higher than wives did. Third, the perception of marital stress, positive coping behavior and marital coherence influence the marital stability of the elderly couples. That is, the less elderly couples perceived marital stress and the less they relied on negative coping behaviors, the higher they perceived marital stability. These results imply that a healthful coping behavior to marital stress is important in enhancing marital stability for elderly couples.

Objectives: The main purpose of this study was to examine factors influencing depression of middle school students in relation to coping behavior, social support, and self-esteem. Methods: The questionnaire survey was carried out on a convenience sample of 442 middle school students. The data analysis procedure included frequency, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression using depression as the dependent variable. Results: The prevalence of depression was 16.7%. Multiple regression revealed that the factors such as "negative" coping(${\beta}$=.29, p<.001), friend support(${\beta}$=-.23, p<.001), "social support pursuing" coping(${\beta}$=-.22, p<.001), school record(${\beta}$=.15, p<.001), self-esteem(${\beta}$=-.13, p<.01), family support(${\beta}$=-.13, p<.01), "agressive" coping(${\beta}$=.11, p<.01) turned out to be significant affecting factors. Forty six percent of varience in depression was explained by these factors. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that to prevent the occurrence of depression, psychosocial aspects including emotional support should be considered when developing mental health education program for middle school students.
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of a community-based follow-up program on parenting stress, parenting efficacy, and coping among parents with premature infants. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pre-post quasi-experimental design was used. This program consisted of structured home visits and self-help group meetings for 6 months. The experimental group (n=29) received visits by an experienced neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse and the control group (n=27) was visited by a visiting nurse. Data were analyzed using the χ2 test, t-test, and analysis of covariance. Results: Parents' coping behavior significantly differed in the experimental group compared to the control group (t=3.14, p=.003). In particular, coping subscale I, for maintaining the family situation (t=2.63, p=.011), and subscale III, for understanding the infant's medical situation (t=4.30, p<.001), showed significant differences in the experimental group. There were no significant between-group differences in parenting stress or parenting efficacy. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that home visits by an experienced NICU nurse provided through a community-based follow-up program were an effective intervention to improve coping behavior among parents with premature infants.
We investigated the effects of maternal parenting behaviors, children's emotional regulation, and stress coping strategies on gender-specific children's behavioral problems. The participants were 191, $4^{th}$ and $5^{th}$ graders and their mothers from four elementary schools in Seoul and Kyung-gi province. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and hierarchical regressions. The major findings were summarized as follows: (1) Active coping strategies explained boys' aggressive behaviors, (2) mother's warm-encouragement parenting behaviors and active coping strategies explained boys' delinquent behaviors, (3) mother's warm-encouragement parenting behaviors explained boys' withdrawn behaviors, and (4) mother's mediation-supervision parenting behaviors and negative emotionality explained girls' aggressive behaviors. In conclusion, maternal parenting behaviors, children's emotional regulation and stress coping strategies have gender-specific influence on children's behavioral problems.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between level of participation in children's play, empathy ability and coping behavior in mothers of children with disabilities. The study included 94 mothers of children with disabilities and the study was conducted from May 2018 to August 2018 based on the questionnaire about the level of participation in children's play, empathy ability and coping behavior. According to the study, Mothers of children with disabilities actively participate in physical play with their children and have a higher emotional empathy compared to cognitive empathy, and have acted to actively solve the problems for their children. When children have been treated for more than 1 to 2 years, the level of participation in children's play and the coping behavior were the highest. The longer their children's treatment period, the higher the mothers' empathy. The correlation between level of participation in children's play and coping behavior were significant. And empathy and coping behavior had a strong positive linear relationship. These results suggest that there are differences in level of participation in children's play, empathy and coping behavior depending on mothers' of children with disabilities general characteristics and the higher level of mothers' of children with disabilities participation in children's play, the more empathetic they have. When individualized intervention is provided, we look forward to providing professional service that take into account the characteristics of mothers of children with disabilities.
