Aircraft Waypoint Navigation Control with Neural Network-Based Altitude-Hold Control

  • Flight control design for the autonomous waypoint navigation of aircraft is presented in this study. The waypoints are defined in terms of desired longitude and latitude. The control design is conducted in longitudinal and lateral directions, respectively. The lateral control is based upon coordinated turn strategy for which no sideslip is allowed under the turning maneuver. The longitudinal control is mainly focused on altitude hold during navigation. Neural network control approach is applied to the altitude-hold mode control. Simulation of the proposed control strategy has been performed under various conditions. A graphical simulation tool was developed to visually demonstrate the control technique developed in this study. A method to simulate the gas turbine transient behavior is developed.   • A generalized singular linear quadratic control technique is developed to design an optimal trajectory tracking system. The output feedback control law is designed using this technique. The feedback gain matrix is synthesized to minimize tracking errors with pole placement capability to satisfy the control activity requirements. An applications to a bank-to-turn missile coordinated autopilot system design is presented.

폭이 좁은 차량의 안정성 향상을 위한 능동형 스티어링 기울임 제어기의 개발 (Development of the Active Steering Tilt Controller for Stability of the Narrow Commuter Vehicles)

  • As the traffic congestion and parking problems in urban areas are increased the tall and narrow commuter vehicles have interested as a means to increase the utilization of existing freewa- ys and parking facilities. However, in hard cornering those vehicles could reduce stability against overturning compared to conventional vehicles. This tendency can be mitigated by tilting the body toward the inside of the turn. In this paper those tilting vehicles are considered in which at speed at least, the tilt angle is controlled by steering the front wheels. In other word, if the driver turns the steering wheel the tilt controller automatically steers the road wheel to tilt the body inside of the turn. Also, the dynamic tilting vehicle model with tire slip angles is constructed by adding the roll degree of freedom. Finally, through computer simulation the behaviors of the tilting vehicles are investigated.

간선도로 연동화 신호최적화 모형 KS-SIGNAL의 수행속도 향상을 위한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Run-Time in KS-SIGNAL, Traffic Signal Optimization Model for Coordinated Arterials)

  • 본 논문에서는 기개발된 간선도로 연동화 신호최적화 모형인 KS-SIGNAL의 최적화 수행속도를 향상시키기 위한 새로운 모형식을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 기존 모형식의 수정, MILP 최적화 루틴의 탑재, 좌회전 현시순서와 관련한 제약식의 추가 등 3단계에 걸친 모형 개선 작업이 이루어졌으며, 그 결과 기존 모형식과 비교 99%이상의 최적화 수행시간 단축 효과를 창출하였다. 개발된 KS-SIGNAL 모형식은 여러 다양한 경우에 대해 모의실험을 실시한 결과 교통량보다는 교차로간 거리에 더욱 민감하게 반응함으로써 지체최소화모형 (TRANSYT-7F)보다는 통과폭최대화모형(PASSER-II)에 더 가까운 신호시간계획을 산출하였다. 더불어 본 모형식이 좌회전 현시순서를 최적화시키지 못하는 TRANSYT-7F 모형식과 통과폭을 최대화하나 통과폭 밖의 직진교통류를 고려하지 못하는 PASSER-II 모형식, 그리고 이들의 단점을 상호보완한 결합모형과 비교하여 더 적은 지체를 유발시키는 보다 더 효율적인 신호시간계획을 창출하는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • A history of discoveries of a gene and DNA was viewed with respect to people, time and places. It started with G. Mendel and J. Meisher, who discovered a gene in a plant species in 1866 and DNA in animals in 1869, respectively. With recognition that DNA was a chemical substance, A. Kossel identified the four chemical components of DNA without knowing their biological function around the turn of the 19th century. On the other hand F. Griffith found a peculiar activity in a bacterial species in 1928, but victimized by the war before understanding what it was. Those discoveries were made in Europe, but they were still fragmentary. Then, in USA, O. T. Avery, A. Hershey, M. Nirenberg and other scientists organized the European discoveries and elucidated their coordinated biological functions in 1950's and 1960'.

대기 차량 최소화를 위한 동적 교통 신호연동 모델 (Dynamic Control of Coordinated Traffic Signals for Minimizing Queue-lengths)

  • 교통신호에서 주로 고려되는 변수는 신호주기(cycle length), 녹색시간(green split), 옵셋(offset)그리고 좌회전 현시순서(left-turn phase sequence)로 구성된다. 기존의 대부분의 연동 모델들은 고정된 주기하에서 평균적인 유입 교통량을 측정한 후, 선형최적화 이론을 적용하여 최적 신호를 산출한다. 그러나 이 방법은 어디까지나 평균적인 데이터에 대해서 계산을 한 것이기 때문에 실시간 최적화를 제공하기가 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 평균 차량 통행량 대신 실시간으로 입력되는 차량 대기행렬, 차량 도착률을 기초로 대기차량을 최소화하는 동적 신호시간 산출 모델을 개발하였다. 본 모델에서는 Peytechew가 제안한 각 진입로에서의 대기 차량 예측 모델을 기초로 하여 다음 주기에서의 차량 대기 행렬을 예측한 후, 선형 최적화 이론을 적용하여 신호시간을 산출한다. 본 모델에서 산출된 신호주기와 녹색시간은 대기차량길이를 최소화하는 신호 시간으로서 교차로간의 연동효과를 고려하여 실시산 교통상황에 따라 주기별로 변화한다. 본 모델은 3개의 교차로로 구성된 네트워크를 대상으로 적용하였다. 실험 네트워크의 주도로 교통량은 부도로의 교통량 보다 많다고 가정하였으며 각 링크사이에서의 차량 진출입은 없다고 보았다.

폭이 좁은 차량의 비상주행시 주행성능개선을 위한 제어시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Control System of the Narrow Vehicles for Improvement of Maneuvering under Emergency Situation)

  • In urban area narrow commuter vehicles have attracted interest as a possible solution to reduce traffic congestion and parking problems. However, a narrow vehicle has an increased to overturn during hard cornering when compared to conventional vehicles. This tendency can be reduced by tilting it toward the inside of the turn. Two types of automatic tilting control systems which are Direct Tilt Control(DTC) and Steering Tilt Control(STC) have been developed. In this paper as one of the technique to improve the handling performance for the unusual vehicle the control system which blends both the DTC and the STC system is considered. It uses the merits of both the DTC and the STC system. As a control strategy for combination the switching control method is used. Finally, the fact that the unusual vehicle is safe under an emergency situation such as slippery road surface is proved by computer simulation.

СЕВЕРО-ВОСТОЧНАЯ АЗИЯ В ПОВОРОТЕ РОССИИ НА ВОСТОК (Northeast Asia in Russia's Pivot to the East)

  • Russia's push in the Asia-Pacific region stems from its interests that have the national, regional and global dimensions. In their turn, the aims of this policy are civilizational, geopolitical, economic and prospective, with a long-term outlook. In the course of their achievement, cooperation with Northeast Asia's countries will play one of the key roles owing to the factors of geographic proximity, Northeast Asia's economic potential, risk hedging and a growing influence Northeast Asia exerts upon the global development. A new cooperation paradigm between Russia and the states of Northeast Asia should be based upon establishing and cementing self-reproducing ties. This is the central aim of Russian initiatives in relations, with Japan, the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Mongolia and China. However, numerous obstacles ranging from Russia's absence in the regional free trade agreements and supply-production chains of value-added production to the permanent international instability generated by Pyongyang's missile-nuclear developments hamper the practical implementation of this task. Realizing the necessity to give an additional impetus to this new cooperative paradigm, Russia has to develop directions with an apparent consolidating effect. The most promising may be the establishment of a permanent security forum based upon Northeast Asia Peace and Security Mechanism chaired by the Russian Federation. The urgency of this measure and its expected support stem from the necessity to strengthen security in Northeast Asia, a task neither the US-led hub-and-spoke system nor ASE-AN-led multilateral dialogue venues have been able to resolve. The issues addressed at the security forum must include the unification of approaches to North Korean nuclear issue and producing a document specifying actions of the claimants on the disputed maritime territories in the "direct contact" situations. At the expert level, Russia has elaborated on the idea to establish such a forum outlining the spectrum of the key directions of cooperation. With the urgency in the establishment of this dialogue venue, its agenda has to be coordinated with the agendas of the existing security systems presented by the US alliances and the ASE-AN-led multilateral negotiations. The practical implementation of this initiative will strengthen security in Northeast Asia as its challenges will be resolved in the pre-emptive way based on coordinated approaches. Therefore, Russia as the Eurasian state will be one of the role players in the advent of the Asian century.

Evaluation of Problems in Tourism Systems and Their Evolutionary Status Based on Self-Organization Theory

  • With the rapid development of the tourism economy, large-scale construction of tourist attractions to achieve resource utilization and ensure the healthy development of the tourism industry has become a hot topic. However, there are still issues with resource utilization and coordinated management in the economic development of the tourism industry, which in turn affects the coordinated development of the tourism industry economy. Therefore, this study utilizes self-organization theory to explore the structure, organizational mechanism, conditional driving force of evolution, and evolutionary operation mechanism of the tourism system, analyze the current tourism situation in Hunan Province and related regions, and construct a self-organization evolution model of the tourism system. The result shows that the cumulative variance contribution rate of tourism areas in Hunan Province is 78.8%, with Zhangjiajie having the highest industrial management factors and tourism resource levels in the province, with 1.6 and 3.2 respectively. Hunan Province has abundant tourism resources but overall uneven development, with a comprehensive score of -1.03. Therefore, it is necessary to leverage the coordination advantages of various departments and industries to promote sustainable and healthy development of tourism areas. The self-organizing evolution of the tourism system not only discovers the current problems of the tourism industry, but also provides theoretical support and mechanism suggestions for the tourism system.

Repressed Quorum Sensing by Overexpressing LsrR Hampers Salmonella Evasion from Oxidative Killing Within Macrophages

  • Bacterial cell-to-cell communication, termed quorum sensing (QS), leads to coordinated group behavior in a cell-density-dependent fashion and controls a variety of physiological processes including virulence gene expression. The repressor of the lsr operon, LsrR, is the only known regulator of LuxS/AI-2-mediated QS in Salmonella. Although lack of lsrR did not result in noticeable differences in Salmonella survival, the down-regulation of QS as a result of lsrR overexpression decreased Salmonella survival within macrophages. We found that impaired growth of Salmonella overexpressing lsrR within macrophages was due largely to its hypersensitivity to NADPH-dependent oxidative stress. This, in turn, was a result of decreased expression of genes involved in the oxidative stress response, such as sodA, sodCI, and sodCII, when lsrR was overexpressed. These results suggest that down-regulation of QS by excess LsrR can lower Salmonella virulence by hampering Salmonella evasion from oxidative killing within macrophages.
