  • In this paper, a conventional key exchange method simply Performs the key exchange setup step based on discrete algebraic subjects. But the mutual-authentication procedure of wireless PKI for reducing authentication time uses an elliptical curve for a key exchange setup step. Proposed hand-over method shows reduced hand-over processing time than conventional method since it can reduce CRL retrieval time. Also, we compared proposed authentication structure and conventional algorithm, and simulation results show that proposed authentication method outperforms conventional algorithm in authentication waiting time.

  • We analyze the tag identification procedure of conventional EPC Class 1 RFID system and propose the fast anti-collision algorithm for the performance improvement of the system. In the proposed algorithm, the reader uses information of tag collisions and reduces unnecessary procedures of the conventional algorithm. We evaluate the performance of the proposed anti-collision algorithm and the conventional algorithm using mathematical analysis and simulation. According to the results, the fast anti-collision algorithm shows greatly better performance than conventional algorithm.

  • Silica fume influences concrete diffusivity and permeability as well as strength by densifying the microstructure of the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) of high strength concrete, by reducing the capillary porosity of cement paste and by producing less diffusible and permeable pozzolanic CSH gel than CSH gel of conventional cement hydration. This paper presents a procedure to predict the chloride ion diffusivity and water permeability of the high strength concrete containing silica fume. Water binder ratio, silica fume addition, degree of hydration and volume fraction of aggregates are considered as the major factors influencing concrete diffusivity and permeability in the procedure. Analytical results using the procedure are shown and verified with other data.

  • In the procedure of the hydraulic control system design, a linearized approximate equation described by the first order terms of Taylor series has been widely used. Such a linearized equation is effective just near the operating point, However, pressure and flowrate in actual hydraulic systems are usually not confined near an operating point. This study suggests a new linearized flow equation for a servovalve as a modified form of the conventional linearized flow equation. Subsequently, a procedure to determine effective operating point for the new linearized equation is proposed. From the evaluations of time responses and frequency responses obtained from simulations for a hydraulic control system, the effectiveness of the new linearized equation and the procedure to determine effective operating point is confirmed.

  • Delayed access to surgery may lead to deterioration in the patient condition, poor clinical outcomes, increase in the probability of emergency admission, or even death. The purpose of this work is to decide the number of patients selected from a waiting list and to schedule them in accordance with the operating room capacity in the next period. We formulate the problem as an infinite horizon Markov Decision Process (MDP), which attempts to strike a balance between the patient waiting times and overtime works. Structural properties of the proposed model are investigated to facilitate the solution procedure. The proposed procedure modifies the conventional value iteration method along with the binary search technique. An example of the optimal policy is provided, and computational results are given to show that the proposed procedure improves computational efficiency.

  • In this paper, pilot flight training procedure of VFR (Visual Flight Rule) flight procedure was investigated through basic aviation training device (BATD) using VR HMD (Virtual Reality Head Mount Display). In order to evaluate the efficiency of the pilot training, the experimental pilot group was divided according to the similar piloting ability, then same VFR flight procedure was carried out using both the VR BATD and the conventionl BATD. The comparison of the X, Y and Z position of the aircraft from the extracted flight data was conducted. As a result, it was confirmed that the VR BATD shows better steering training efficiency tendency than the conventional BATD.

  • FASCAM is a newly introduced mean against enemy fire power and supposed to be scattered on base areas in front of a tunnel so as to deter maneuver and shooting of enemy artilleries. However, for its characteristics different from conventional munitions, only a few studies have been undertaken on operations system using this new measure. In this research, we propose a procedure to describe and analyze mathematically an operation system for suppression of enemy fire power using FASCAM. Two suggested simulation methods, impact point generation and density integration, both can describe the actual operation rationally and each has advantages of its own respectively. Further, we demonstrated an example analysis to derive an optimal suppression plan based on the proposed procedure.

  • We have developed a program that minimizes the chip area with effective code assignment of microinstructions when the control part of VLSI system is implemented in the PLA. While conventional algorithms are composed of one pass, the algorithm proposed in this paper is composed of two passes and it consists of three principal procedures: a procedure for the determination of the code assignment order, a procedure for the code assignment and a procedure for the reduction of the code length. especially, we have proposed a new method of folding back for the reduction of the code length. We have obtained the result of 4 bit code length and 9 product terms when 11 micro-instructions and 6 microoperations were given as a inputs. Therefore, we have certified that it could be used efficiently for the control part of the processors.

  • An automation process of filter unit is presented for the application of the assembling procedure and dry furnace work. By that automation procedure, it is expected to enhance working environment such as reducing laboring load, harmful gas, and burning scald. Furthermore, this automation process also minimizes via standardization of manufacturing process so that it may increase productivity and reliability. An automation process of filter unit is presented for the application of the assembling procedure and dry furnace work. Filter automation process also gives a good quality and productivity by simplifying to only one line from the complicated process such as filter cutting$\rightarrow$ adhering$\rightarrow$fabricating in a very small space. It is found that a new conceptual design of dry furnace shows the better quality like uniform heat distribution compared to the conventional design. It is also found that the present design gives a better working environment by adding cooling system.

  • Although the $L_0$-penalty is the most natural choice to identify the sparsity structure of the model, it has not been widely used due to the computational bottleneck. Recently, the adaptive ridge procedure is developed to efficiently approximate a $L_q$-penalized problem to an iterative $L_2$-penalized one. In this article, we proposed to apply the adaptive ridge procedure to solve the $L_0$-penalized weighted support vector machine (WSVM) to facilitate the corresponding optimization. Our numerical investigation shows the advantageous performance of the $L_0$-penalized WSVM compared to the conventional WSVM with $L_2$ penalty for both simulated and real data sets.
