Pre-coated sheet materials are a cost-effective and environmentally attractive alternative to conventional sheet materials coated after forming. At present but the high scratch sensitivity of coating used for pre-coated metal sheet is a major limitation to use of these materials. Because of high scratch sensitivity, products made by pre-coated metal sheet are not formed by conventional design method. This study has been performed to investigate scratch characteristic of non-vinyl pre-coated metal (PCM) sheet. Using the simple U-bending test equipment, three non-vinyls PCM's were tested. This paper provides the results of bending tests showing the influence of sheet surface texture, tool material and process conditions. It was found that the influence of punch, die clearance and tool material had an effect upon the scratch characteristic.
The hydroforming process is rapidly gaining popularity in the sheet metal forming industry. In this study, hydroforming process is applied to the seat back frame. The load-deformation characteristics of seat frame are simulated according to the test requirements by FMVSS. Structural analyses were performed with an analysis package program named I-DEAS for the conventional and the hydroforming seat back frame. The seat back frame made by hydroforming is not only about 23 percent lightweight, but also about 20 percent high strength compared with conventional that.
A novel in-mold packaging process has been developed to manufacture devices with closed channels. In this unified process, fabrication of open channels and forming the rigid cover on top of them are sequentially integrated in the same mold. The entire process is comprised of two phases. In the first phase, the open channels are fabricated under an exquisitely controlled temperature and pressure using the conventional micro injection molding technology. In the second phase, the closed channels are fabricated by conducting the injection molding process using the molded structure with the open channels as a mold insert. As a result, the in-mold technology can eliminate the bonding processes such as heating, ultrasonic or chemical processes for cohesion between the channel and the cover, which have been required in conventional methods.
The conductive coating method is used for various industrial fields. For example, Sputtering process is used to coat ITO layer in LCD or OLED panel manufacture process and fabricate a base layer of substrate of an electric printing device. However, conventional coating processes (beam sputtering, spin coating etc.) has a problems in the industrial manufacturing process. These processes have a very high cost and critical manufacturing environment as a vacuum process. Recently, many researchers have proposed various printing process instead of conventional coating processes. In this paper, we propose an ESD printing process in ITO coating layer and apply to fabricate a conductive coating film. Furthermore, the effect of the nozzle and also the applied voltage on different configuration of the nozzle head was also studied for better understanding of the Electro Static deposition process.

Both conventional and PI3 implanters require dense sources for high productivity rate, and small sheath expansion in PI3 besides. The problem of the creation of large volume uniform plasma in PI3 facilities replaces that of beam forming in accelerators. Some aspects of ion extraction in both cases and Langmuir probe plasma diagnostics with be discussed. Plasma parameters of large volume multicusp dc hot cathode and inductively coupled RF plasma sources obtained with Langmuir probe and ion mass analyzer with be presented. Design features and performances of high current Freeman and ECR ion sources will be described.

Recently, research on the development of lightweight vehicle bodies is increasing continuously as a response to fuel economy regulations. To reduce the weight of a vehicle body, a conventional steel plate has been substituted by light weight material with high specific strength and the jointing of multi-materials is generally applied. On the other hand, the customer's demand for safety and emotional quality in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, a light weight with proper strength and NVH quality is needed. In the view of light weighting and NVH quality, the application of a vibration proof steel plate can be an effective solution but the formability of a sandwich panel is different with a conventional steel sheet. Therefore, careful analysis of formability is required. This study aims to characterize the formability of a sandwich high-strength steel plate. The high-strength steel plates of different thicknesses with resistance spot welding and sealer bonding were analyzed using forming limits diagram through a cup drawing test.
Direct conversion of raw starch without liquefaction to maltose using maltose-forming fungal a-amylase (Fungamyl) was carried out in an agitated bead enzyme reactor (bioattritor). The reaction rate in bioattritor was comparable with conventional method which utilized liquefied soluble starch. Moreover the extent of maltose formation increased substantially compared with conventional method; from 150 g / I of raw starch, around 95 g/l of maltose was formed and 72% of maltose content in sugar mixture was achieved. Especially, pH influenced greatly not only on total sugar formation from raw starch in bioattritor but also on maltose content in sugar mixture. The optimal pH for maltose formation from raw starch was shifted into the weak alkaline pH, the optimal pH of 8.0~9.0 in bioattritor contrast to pH of 5.0~5.5 for liquefied starch. The maltose formation and content were also affected by the amounts of Fungamyl added and raw starch concentration. Consumption of maltose-forming Fungamyl can be substantially reduced by supplementary addition of starch liquefying a-amylase (Termamyl).
This study aims to describe actual condition of residents' involvement of Sk$\"{a}$rk$\"{a}$ll ecovillage in Sweden by in-depth interviews with five residents. This study, hopefully, could contribute to offer useful information for forming ecovillage, as well as awakening about ecovillage movement to the public in Korea. The interviews were fulfilled during spring of 2010 in G$\"{o}$teborg and Sk$\"{a}$rk$\"{a}$ll ecovillage in Sweden. The results are as follows: 1) In terms of overall residents' involvement by self-evaluation everybody agrees with that residents' involvement was quite excellent during forming stage of the village, while it has been notably decreased now in running stage. It reveals there is a gap between ideology and reality. 2) Concerning decision making method, they use majority decision instead of consensus, since only 9 households of 20 are residing there all year around, it is hardly possible to assemble all the residents in the meeting. In Accordance with problematic conflicts in the village recently, development of socialization with others and education of communication skill for residents probably could be helpful to resolve conflicts among residents in long term. 3) In terms of evaluation of ecovillage movement in Sk$\"{a}$rk$\"{a}$ll ecovillage, it is the fact that many residents live less self-sufficiently, more energy consumed than the ideology pursuits. Also, they live with close connections with conventional society. Nevertheless, the efforts they are willing to practice 3R principles (Recycle, Reuse, Reduction) have to be highly respected, if we consider its educational influence to environmental movement for the conventional society.

The milli-components for electronic and medical device etc. have been manufactured by conventional process. Forming and machining process for those milli-components need tremendous cost and time because products require higher dimensional accuracy than the conventional ones. For instance, conventional mechanical punching process has many drawbacks for applying to high accuracy products. The final radius of hole can be varied and burr which interrupting another procedure is generated. Hydro-mechanical punching process makes possible to reduce amount of burr and obtain the fine shearing surface using the operating fluid. Hydrostatic pressure retards occurrence of initial crack and induces to locate the fracture surface in the middle of sheet to thickness direction. In this paper, Hydro-mechanical punching process is analyzed using finite element method and the effect of hydrostatic pressure is evaluated during punching process. The prediction of fracture is performed adopting the various ductile fracture criteria such as Cockcroft, Brozzo and Oyane's criterion using a user subroutine in ABAQUS explicit.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV2) is a major coronavirus that infects humans with human Coronavirus (HuCoV)-229E, HCoV-OC43, HCoV-HKU1, HCoV-NL63, Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and Middle east respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). SARS-CoV2 is currently a global pandemic pathogen. In this study, we developed conventional RT-PCR based diagnostic system for the detection of SARS-CoV2 which is relatively inexpensive but has high stability and a wide range of users. Three conventional RT-PCR primer sets capable of forming specific band sizes by targeting the ORF1ab [232 nucleotide (nt)], E (200 nt) and N (288 nt) genes of SARS-CoV2 were developed, respectively, and it were confirmed to be about 10~100 times higher detection sensitivity than the previously reported methods. In addition, a standard positive control that can generate specific amplicons by reacting with the developed RT-PCR primers and verify the false-positiv from contamination of the laboratory was produced. Therefore, the diagnostic system that uses the RT-PCR method is expected to be used to detect SARS-CoV2.
