약사의 전문성강화를 위한 국가별 평생교육제도 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on the Continuing Professional Development for the Pharmacists in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the comparative study results for the purpose of the developing continuing professional educational systems for Korean pharmacists. The professional continuing educational systems of the UK, USA, Japan and Korea were analyzed. General Pharmaceutical Council in UK controls the pharmacy professions for the protection of the health of the citizens in UK and certifies the schools of pharmacy and the continuing education providers. The USA and Japan have the several accreditation bodies for the pharmacy education and the continuing pharmaceutical education. However, the quality assurance systems in Korea for the continuing education and specialty programs are not implemented, yet. The renewal system of the pharmacist license should be introduced like the health care providers like doctors to improve professionalism. Finally, it is recommended that all of these things should be done by a single administrative authority such as Korean Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.

사서직 계속교육 동향 분석 - 온라인교육과 역량기반 교육을 중심으로 - (Trends in the Online Continuing Professional Development for Librarians and Applications of Professional Competencies)

  • 본 연구에서는 온라인교육과 역량기반 교육을 중심으로 사서직 계속교육의 국내외 동향을 분석하였다. 현재 국내 사서 계속교육 프로그램의 70% 이상이 온라인교육방식으로 수행되고 있었고, 주로 온라인 코스웨어 형태의 표준화된 콘텐츠가 동영상으로 제작되어 반복 활용되고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 반면, 미국과 호주에서는 주로 웨비나 등 쌍방향 커뮤니케이션이 가능한 이러닝 방식을 사용하여 도서관 안팎의 최신 이슈를 다양한 교육강좌로 구성한 비표준화된 콘텐츠가 활용되고 있었다. 또한 최근 주목할 동향으로 미국, 영국, 호주 등 해외에서 전문직 역량기준에 기반하여 계속교육을 제공하려는 시도들이 파악되었다. 따라서 국내에서도 기 개발된 사서직 역량기준들을 계속교육에 접목시킴으로써 체계적인 교육프로그램을 운영할 것이 요청된다. 본 연구에서 분석한 해외 모범사례들은 향후 국내 온라인 계속교육 프로그램을 현장의 계속교육 수요와 요구에 부응하며 현장사서들의 역량을 강화시키는 방향으로 개선하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of participation motivation of continuing professional development between the level of organizational learning transfer climate and learning transfer. In the analysis of the relationship among the level of the organizational learning transfer climate, learning transfer and participation motivation of CPD, organizational learning transfer climate had indirect influence on learning transfer through participation motivation of CPD. Based upon the findings of this study, several suggestions were made to improve professional engineers' participation and learning transfer in CPD and implement future research on professional engineer's CPD.

역량기반 사서계속교육을 위한 핵심역량지표 및 콘텐츠개발 - NCS적용 타당성 분석 및 보완방안 연구 - (Developing a Competency-based Continuing Education Program for Library and Information Professions based on the National Competency Standards (NCS))

  • 본 연구에서는 NCS 역량기반의 사서직 계속교육 콘텐츠 개발 방안을 제안해 보고자 하였다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 국내외 사서직 역량기준을 조사하는 한편, NCS 및 사서직 역량요소에 대한 국내 연구를 분석함으로써 사서직 계속교육을 위한 핵심역량요소를 도출하고자 하였다. 또한 도출한 핵심역량에 대비하여 현재 국립중앙도서관의 사서직 계속교육 프로그램을 분석하고 그 개선방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 연구방법으로 내용분석, 설문조사, 초점집단면접 등을 활용하였다. 본 연구결과로 도출된 "NCS 역량기반의 사서직 계속교육체계(NCS-CPD)"는 각종 도서관에 근무하는 현장사서에게 필요한 전문 및 기초 핵심역량을 체계화하고 있다. 이 체계는 향후 사서직 계속교육 연구 및 현장에서의 균형있는 교육 콘텐츠 개발 및 교육과정 개발에서 유용한 가이드라인으로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • Pharmacists should maintain professional competencies to provide optimal pharmaceutical care services to patients, which can be achieved through continued commitment to lifelong learning. Traditionally continuing education (CE) has been widely used as a way of lifelong learning for many healthcare professionals. It, however, has several limitations. CE is delivered in the form of instructor-led education focused on multiple learners. Learning is passive and reactive for participants, so it sometimes does not lead to bringing behavioral changes in workplace performance. Therefore, recently the concept of lifelong learning tends to move from CE toward continuing professional development (CPD). CPD is an ongoing process that improves knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout a professional's career. It is a more comprehensive structured approach toward the enhancement of personal competencies. It emphasizes an individual's learning needs and goals and enables learning to become proactive, conscious, and self-directed. CPD consists of four stages: reflect, plan, learn, and evaluate. CE is one component of CPD. Each stage is recorded in a CPD portfolio. There are many practical difficulties in implementing the complete CPD system for lifelong learning of pharmacists in many countries including Korea. Applying a hybrid form that utilizes CPD and CE together, as in the case of some countries, could be an alternative. Furthermore, in undergraduate pharmacy education, it is necessary to teach students about CPD and train them on how to perform CPD as a pharmacist.

커크 패트릭 모형을 이용한 임플란트 연수 교육 효과 평가 (Evaluation of outcomes of continuing professional education in implant dentistry using Kirkpatrick's four-level evaluation model)

  • Objectives: This study evaluated the outcomes of continuing professional education in implant dentistry using Kirkpatrick's four-level evaluation model. Material and methods: The study was carried out through a questionnaire distributed to dentists who attended a continuing professional education in implant dentistry, 2008~2012. They were asked to fill out questionnaires at least 6 months after its completion. Results: Mean ages of total 23 dentist was $44.8^{\circ}{\ae}8.2$. Mean period after completion of education was $2.7^{\circ}{\ae}1.2$. Knowledge (level 2) (r=0.71, p<0.01) and behavior (level 3) (r=0.68, p<0.01) was positively correlated with topic and methods of education in reaction (level 1). Behavior was positively correlated with knowledge (r=0.79, p<0.01). Result (level 4) was positively correlated with knowledge (r=0.64, p<0.01) and behavior (r=0.86, p<0.01). Conclusion: Reaction affects on knowledge, behavior and result in order.

사서 계속교육 현황과 발전방향에 관한 연구 (A Research on the Continuing Education for Librarians : Current Situations and Suggestions)

  • 현재 우리나라의 사서 계속교육은 도서관 확충과 교육수요 증가에 따른 대응, 교육과정 확대 및 충실화를 위한 전문인력 확보, 교육의 세분화 요구에 대처하기 위한 맞춤형 교육과정 개발 운영, 급변하는 지식정보 생태계에 대응하기 위한 사서직 역량 개발, 사이버 교육콘텐츠 확보 등 다양한 요구에 직면하고 있다. 이러한 문제에 근거하여 본 연구에서는 국내외 사서교육기관 현황을 분석하여 시사점을 도출하고, 발전 방향을 제안하였다. 특히, 사서 계속교육에 있어서의 국립중앙도서관의 역할을 중시하였다. 구체적으로는 정보환경과 교육수요 변화에 대응하고 사서계속교육의 국가 주도성을 강화하기 위하여 현재의 사서 계속교육 체제를 '교육원'과 같은 전문기관으로 개편하고, 이를 통하여 사서 교육전문인력을 양성하고 교육플랫폼의 변화를 수용한 새로운 형태의 교육 시스템을 구상할 수 있다고 보았다.

Challenges in Volunteering from Cancer Care Volunteers Perspectives

  • The involvement of non-government organizations (NGOs) and support groups has helped strengthen public health services in addressing cancer care burden. Owing to the contribution of volunteers in cancer care, this article documents a qualitative study that examined challenges in attracting and retaining cancer care volunteers as part of the effort to develop a volunteer recruitment model. Data were collected through three focus group discussions involving 19 cancer support group members in Malaysia. Findings of the study revealed that mobility and locality appeared to be significant in Malaysian context, while the need for financial support and time flexibility are challenges faced by cancer support groups to attract and retain volunteers. The findings imply that cancer care initiatives can benefit from more local volunteers but at the same time these volunteers require flexibility and financial support to sustain their engagement.

  • There are three major international agreements governing mutual recognition of engineering qualifications and professional competence of the International PEs; namely, Washington Accords, APEC engineer agreement and EMF agreement. International Organizations of APEC Engineer Coordinating Committer and Engineers Mobility Forum established international registries with the goal of improving international mobility. APEC and EMF membership requires minimum qualifications for licensure with the minimum standards including engineering education, Professional experience, compliance with home jurisdiction requirements, having verified record of responsible charge, and demonstrating a commitment to continuing education.

영양사의 직무능력 향상을 위한 계속교육의 참여동기 분석 (Analysis of Reasons for Continuing Education in Dietitians)

  • This study analyzed the reasons for continuing education among dietitians. An internet-based survey of 622 dieticians was conducted from August 31, 2012 to September 12, 2012. Based on data from the Participation Reasons Scale (PRS) questionnaire, factor analysis was conducted by principle component analysis for the extraction of major factors. Subsequent reliability analysis was performed by assessing Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The ANOVA-test was performed to compare the participation reason scores for each factors according to general characteristics. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS ver.17.0, and P<0.05 was considered significant. Factor analysis for the participation reasons revealed four types of factors. These factors were "maintenance and development of professional competencies", "interaction and responsibility of professionals", "job stability and personal profits" and "services for customers" respectively. Among the participation reasons, "maintenance and development of professional competencies" was the first reason with a 29.34% variance. In addition, the participation reasons for continuing education differed according to age (P<0.05), the highest level of education (P<0.05), workplace (P<0.01), and work experience in dietetic area (P<0.001). In conclusion, continuing education programs for dietitians should focus on effectively developing and promoting professionalism.
