A graft copolymer, i.e. poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-chlorotrifluoroethylene )-g-poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (P(VDF-co-CTFE)-g-PSSA) with 47 wt% of PSSA was synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). This copolymer was combined with titanium isopropoxide (TTIP) to produce graft copolymer/$TiO_2$ nanocomposite membranes via sol-gel process. $TiO_2$ precursor (TTIP) was selectively incorporated into the hydrophilic PSSA domains of the graft copolymer and grown to form $TiO_2$ nanoparticles, as confirmed by FT-IR and UV-visible spectroscopy. Water uptake and ion exchange capacity (IEC) decreased with TTIP contents due to the decrease in number of sulfonic acid in the membranes. At 5 wt% of TTIP, the mechanical properties of membranes increased while maintaining the proton conductivity.

Dielectric properties of glass-ceramics with fresnoite(Ba2TiSi208) crystals have been investigated in xK20-(33.3-x)BaO-16.7TiO2-50SiO2 ($0{\leq}x{\leq}20mol%$) glasses. The glassy nature was analyzed by differential thermal analyses and glass-ceramics was variable and control table by the processing parameters like time and temperature. Dielectric constant was measured over a temperature from 125K to 425k at frequencies form 100Hz to 1MHz, and laid in the range 16-10. Piezoelectric constant d33 was measured using a YE2703A d33meter and changed from 5.9 to 4.8pCN-1 with x contents. The spontaneous polarization Ps estimated from the hysteresis at ${\pm}1.2kV$ was ${\sim}0.3\;{\mu}C/cm2$ at room temperature.
The effects of 0.15mol% Y2O3 doped semiconducting (Ba1-xPbx)TiO3 ceramics with 0.5 mol% Pb5Ge3O11 as sintering additives have been investigated as function of Pb contents (from 0.05 mol to 0.3 mol) and sintering temperatures (from 1050$^{\circ}C$ to 1200$^{\circ}C$). As the Pb content increases in the (Ba1-xPbx)TiO3 system, the size and resistance of the grain increase but the capacitance of the grain boundary decreases due to the formation of liquid phase during the sintering. And with increasing the sintering temperatures, the resistance of the grain decreases but the capacitance of the grain boundary increases. The PTCR effects decrease with increasing the Pb content and the sintering temperature.
Generally, the color gold has had a biased conception due to its traditional use. Thus, this bias has resulted in a lack of usage of golden glaze on ceramics and also a lack of extensive studies of such glazes. In this paper, optimum conditions and mechanism of formation of gold color crystallization glaze containing $Fe_2O_3$(hematite), which is developed for gold colors of ceramic glazes, were studied. Experimental result showed that there are pyroxene based on diopside and $TiO_2$ phase in the base of a crystallization glaze with a value of $TiO_2$ of 6 wt% confirmed by XRD and Raman Spectroscopy. When $Fe_2O_3$ was used as a colorant for the gold color, the $TiO_2$ peak became extinct and the intensity of the diopside peak was sharper. Feldspar of 60 wt%, talc of 20 wt% and limestone of 20 wt% were used as the starting materials and these were tested using a three component system. The best result of test was selected and extended to its vicinity as an experiment to determine $TiO_2$ and $Fe_2O_3$ contents. The glaze with $TiO_2$ of 6 wt% and $Fe_2O_3$ of 12 wt% addition showed stable pyroxene based diopside crystals and the development of gold color. This gold color was obtained with CIE-$L^*a^*b^*$ values of 51.27, 4.46, 16.15 (a grayish yellow brown color), which was gained using the following firing conditions: temperature increasing speed $5^{\circ}C$/min, holding for 1 h at $1280^{\circ}C$, annealing speed $3^{\circ}C$/min till $1100{\circ}C$, holding for 2 h at $1100{\circ}C$, and finally natural annealing.

A solar cell based on dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion was studied by investigating the effects of the amount of polyethylene glycol(PEG), added to the $TiO_2$ paste, on surface morphology of the $TiO_2$ films and on the solar cell performance. Energy conversion efficiency was found to increase with PEG addition up to 20 % by weight of $TiO_2$ and then decrease with further addition due to the aggregation of $TiO_2$ nano particles in the $TiO_2$ film. In this study, the best result of dye-sensitized solar cell was the short circuit current(Isc) of $22.6mAcm^{-2}$, the open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.73 V, the fill factor (ff) of 0.55 and the overall energy conversion efficiency (${\eta}$) of 9.1 % under illumination with AM 1.5 simulated sunlight.

Hydrophilic and transparent $TiO_2$ thin film was fabricated by sol-gel method and the properties of contact angle, surface morphology, and transmittance were measured. In addition, surfactant Tween 80 was used for increasing the hydrophilic property of thin film. When the contents of Tween 80 in $TiO_2$ solution was 0, 10, 30, 50wt%, the contact angles of $TiO_2$ thin film were $41.4^{\circ}$, $18.2^{\circ}$, $16.0^{\circ}$, $13.2^{\circ}$, respectively. Fabricated $TiO_2$ thin film showed the photocatalytic property that decomposed methylene blue and decreased the absorbance of solution after UV irradiation. $TiO_2$ thin films fabricated with the solution of 30 wt% Tween 80 were deposited on glass (bare), antimony tin oxide (ATO), fluorine tin oxide (FTO), indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrates, and the contact angle and transmittance of thin film was measured. The contact angles of thin films deposited on four substrates were $16.2\sim27.1^{\circ}$ and was decreased to the range of $13.2\sim17.6^{\circ}$ after UV irradiation, Especially, the thin films coated on ATO and FTO glass substrate showed high transmittance of 74.6% in visible range, respectively, and low transmittance of 54.2% and 40.4% in infrared range, respectively.

Microwave dielectric characteristics and physical properties of the new Zr$_{1-x}$ (Bn$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2/3}$)xTi $O_4$ (0.2$\leq$x$\geq$ 1.0) system have been investigated as a function of the amount of Bn$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2/3}$$O_2$substitution. With increasing Bn$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2/3}$$O_2$ content (x), two phase regions were observed: $\alpha$-Pb $O_2$ solid solution (x<0.4), mixture of the rutile type Zn$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2/3}$Ti $O_4$ and the $\alpha$-Pb $O_2$ solid solution (x$\geq$0.4). In the$\alpha$-Pb $O_2$solid solution region below x<0.4, the Q.f$_{0}$ value sharply increased and the Temperature Coefficient of the Resonant Frequency(TCF) decreased with increasing Bn$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2/3}$$O_2$ contents while dielectric constant (K) showed nearly same value. In the mixture region above x$\geq$4, the dielectric constant and TCF increased with increasing Bn$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2/3}$$O_2$ content. Zr$_{1-x}$ (Zn$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2/3}$)xTi $O_4$ materials have excellent microwave dielectric properties with K=44.0, Q.f$_{0}$ : 41000 GHz and TCF =-3.0 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ at x=0.35.=0.35. x=0.35.=0.35.
Supported vanadium oxides are being used extensively as catalysts for a variety of reactions, including partial oxidations and ammoxidations. A series of vanadium oxide supported on TiO2-ZrO2 was obtained by impregnating ammonium metavanadate slowly into a mixed precipitateof Ti(OH)4-Zr(OH)4, followed by calcining in air at high temperatures. The prepared catalysts were characterized by 51V solid-state NMR. In the calcined catalysts 51V NMR studies indicated the peaks corresponding to distorted tetrahedral vanadia species at low V2O5 contents and octahedral vanadia species at high vanadia loadings. These results illustrate the suitability of 51V NMR as a unique quantitative spectroscopic tool in the structural analysis of vanadium(V) oxide catalytic materials.

The effect of $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ additives on fracture toughness of ${\beta}-SiC-TiB_2$ composites by hot-pressed sintering was investigated. The ${\beta}-SiC-TiB_2$ ceramic composites were hot-press sintered and pressureless-annealed by adding 16, 20, 24 wt% ${\beta}-SiC-TiB_2$(6:4 wt%) powder as a liquid forming additives at low temperature(1800 $^{\circ}C$) for 4 h. Phase analysis of composites by XRD revealed mostly of ${\alpha}$-SiC(6H), $TiB_2$, and YAG($Al_5Y_3O_{12}$). The relative density was over 95-88 % of the theoretical density, and the porosity increased with increasing $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ contents because of the increasing tendency of pore formation. The fracture toughness showed the highest value of 5.88 MPa${\cdot}m^{1/2}$ for composites added with 20 wt% $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ additives at room temperature. The electrical resistivity showed the lowest value of $5.22{\times}10^{-4}\;{\Omega}\;{\cdot}\;cm$ for composite added with 20 wt% $Al_2O_3+Y_2O_3$ additives at room temperature, and was all positive temperature coefficeint resistance(PTCR) against temperature up to 900 $^{\circ}C$.
Dielectric properties and the stabilization of perovskite phase for the (1-y)Pb(Mg(1-x)/3Znx/3Znx/3Nb2/3)O3-yBaTiO3 ((1-y)PM1-xZxN-yBT) ceramics have been investigated as a function of amount of x and y. In the (1-y)PM0.6Z0.4N-yBT ceramics, the amount of pyrochlore phae was decreased by the addition of 2 mol% BT and the dielectric constant was increased. However, the dielectric constant decreased with further addition of BT even though pyrochlore phase was decreased. Dielectric prooperties in (1-y)PM0.6Z0.4N-yBT ceracmis were affected by the character of the BT rather than the amount of pyrochlore phase. The phase transitions were broadened and phase transition temperatures were lowered by the increase of BT contents.
