CDN(Content Delivery Network) has been used as contents transmission network for transmitting high capacity contents fastly and stably. Main goals of CDN are efficient distribution and management high capacity contents. Current CDN distributes contents by managing contents based on basic metadata created by contents provider. However, existing CDN management system doesn't provide a method for applying additional metadata in content itself that is necessary for efficient contents management and distribution. Since the existing system can not annotate additional information in metadata about contents itself, and can not search contents that user wants. This paper proposes a method for applying additional metadata in existing CDN and implemented it as contents metadata management system(CMMS). A user can search needed contents effectively via CMMS. Also, the searched result can help selecting and managing contents to distribute in CDN.

In this paper, we present the HVIS (Hybrid Video Information System) which bolsters up meaning retrieval of all the various users by integrating feature-based retrieval and annotation-based retrieval of unformatted formed and massive video data. HVIS divides a set of video into video document, sequence, scene and object to model the metadata and suggests the Two layered Hybrid Object-oriented Metadata Model(THOMM) which is composed of raw-data layer for physical video stream, metadata layer to support annotation-based retrieval, content-based retrieval, and similarity retrieval. Grounded on this model, we presents the video query language which make the annotation-based query, content-based query and similar query possible and Video Query Processor to process the query and query processing algorithm. Specially, We present the similarity expression to appear degree of similarity which considers interesting of user. The proposed system is implemented with Visual C++, ActiveX and ORACLE.

Metadata is data that explains attributes and features to the data as structured data. Among them, video metadata refers to data extracted from information constituting the video for accurate content-based search. Recently, as the number of users using video content increases, the number of OTT providers is also increasing, and the role of metadata is becoming more important for OTT providers to recommend a large amount of video content to individual users or to search appropriately. In this paper, a study was conducted on a method of automatically extracting metadata for mood attributes through sound effects of images. In order to classify the sound effect of the video and generate metadata about the attributes of the mood, I would like to propose a method of establishing a terminology dictionary for the mood and extracting information through supervised learning.

Digital Content Marketplace based on Interactive Media is defmed as the marketplace for content service between contents supplier and consumer through iDTV environment. This Marketplace is increasing interest to u-Life service with Digital Environment. To Interactive Media, it can contribute to enhance its effectiveness by developing various contents and service model in the initial phase of broadcasting-communication convergence. This study designed metadata using Digital Content marketplace based on Interactive Media. Specially the matadata designing include recommendation-tag for supply supplementary content. It can support self-directed action. Through basic metadata with weight value, it is designed to support supplementary content customer to want on the marketplace. Recommendation-System can be built by many method and to recommend the service content including explicit properties using collaborative filtering method can solve limitations in existing content recommendation.
UCI(Universal Content Identifier), a digital content identifier is a identification system based on URN(Uniform Resource Name) for the transparent distribution, efficient search and management of digital contents. Digital contents given a UCI number need metadata for serving a exact contents that users need. However, the only metadata provided by UCI are deficient to represent various information of digital contents, and ontologies which could standardize and define explicitly semantic relations between metadata (provided by UCI) are needed for better representation of information and efficient search and management of digital contents. In this paper, we extended concept-relation between metadata with ontology and designed domain ontology enabling semantic-based search by expanding UCI meta data, and showed the more efficient search and management over the metadata by UCI through various queries.
Contents Recommender System predicts user's preferences towards contents, and then recommends highly-predicted contents to user. Digital Identifier plays its part in identifying abstract works or digital contents in digital network environment. Digital Identifier could be effectively used in content-based filtering and collaborative filtering that are mainly used in Contents Recommender Systems. Therefore, this paper proposes an improvement of UCI metadata and resolution service for effective use of UCI in massive contents recommender systems. UCI metadata is expanded by adding elements such as abstract, keyword, genre, age, rate and review. Resolution service allows the operation systems to collect user preference for content by including input part of preference in a result page. This paper also designs and implements an improved UCI operation system and shows that the proposed improvement of UCI metadata and resolution service could be used for massive contents recommendation.

With the steady growth of the content industry, the need for research that automatically recommending content suitable for individual tastes is increasing. In order to improve the accuracy of automatic content recommendation, it is needed to fuse existing recommendation techniques using users' preference history for contents along with recommendation techniques using content metadata or features extracted from the content itself. In this work, we propose a new graph-based music recommendation method which learns an LSTM-based classification model to automatically extract appropriate tagging words from sound data and apply the extracted tagging words together with the users' preferred music lists and music metadata to graph-based music recommendation. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms existing recommendation methods in terms of the recommendation accuracy.

This study aims to develope a scholarly metadata information system based on conceptual elements of text structure of Korean studies research articles and to identify the applicability of text structure based metadata as compared with the existing similar system. For the study, we constructed a database(Korean Studies Metadata Database, KMD) with text structure based on metadata of Korean Studies journal articles selected from the Korea Citation Index(KCI). Then we verified differences between KCI system and KMD system through search results using same keywords. As a result, KMD system shows the search results which meet the users' intention of searching more efficiently in comparison with the KCI system. In other words, even if keyword combinations and conditional expressions of searching execution are same, KMD system can directly present the content of research purposes, research data, and spatial-temporal contexts of research et cetera as search results through the search procedure.
In the area of remote sensing, an immense number of images are continuously generated by various remote sensing systems. These images must then be managed by a database system efficient storage and retrieval. There are many types of image database systems, among which the content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system is the most advanced. CBIR utilizes the metadata of images including the feature data for indexing and searching images. Therefore, the performance of image retrieval is significantly affected by the storage method of the image metadata. There are many features of images such as color, texture, and shape. We mainly consider the shape feature because shape can be identified in any remote sensing while color does not always necessarily appear in some remote sensing. In this paper, we propose a metadata representation and storage method for image search based on shape features. First, we extend MPEG-7 to describe the shape features which are not defined in the MPEG-7 standard. Second, we design a storage schema for storing images and their metadata in a relational database system. Then, we propose an efficient storage method for managing the shape feature data using a Wavelet technique. Finally, we provide the performance results of our proposed storage method.
In this paper, we propose a 360 content pilot service platform of cultural assets based on MPEG-V standard realistic media testbed. MPEG-V is that the standard format of sensory effect metadata(SEM) such like wind, light and flash, and communication protocol between sensory effect machines are defined, and it is possible to increase the sense of presence and immersion with 360 VR content. The proposed platform consists of software which is composed of the content player and the sensory effect reappearance server, and hardware which is the sensory effect machines. Also, the pilot service case using the proposed platform, and the features and advantages of the proposed platform are described.
