Content based Image retrieval using Object Shape Token Clustering (객체 외형의 토큰 군집화를 통한 내용 기반 영상 검색)

  • 내용기반 영상 검색 시스템은 데이터베이스에 저장된 정지영상의 색이나, 질감, 형태 등의 특징을 이용한다. 본 연구는 실험 영상 집합에서 주요 객체를 추출하여, 객체들의 외형으로부터 분리된 토큰들을 군집화 한 후, 그 군집단위를 색인어로 사용하여 검색하는 방법이다. 기존의 내용기반 영상 검색 시스템에서 모양 정보는 그 표현과 색인 정합 등의 문제로 처리 방법이 명확하지 않았고, 회전, 크기 변화, 폐색 등에 민감했다. 따라서 기존 방법의 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 토큰을 이용한 색인을 이용하여 지역 정보와, 이들 지역 정보들의 관계에 의한 전역 정보를 복합적으로 이용한 방법을 제안한다.

  • 디지털 정보기술의 급속한 발전과 고속 네트워크의 보급으로 멀티미디어 데이터가 급격하게 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 데이터들을 빠르고 정확하게 검색하기 위하여 가장 중요한 기반이 되는 것이 데이터의 적절한 표현이다. 최근 최종화 단계를 거친 MPEG-7은 멀티미디어 데이터에 대한 구조화 및 의미 정보를 제공함으로써 효율적인 검색과 필터링을 가능하게 하는 멀티미디어 데이터의 표현에 대한 표준화를 다루고 있다. 본논문에서는 MPEG-7의 표준화와 내용기반 검색 시스템을 소개하고 MPEG-7의 비주얼 기술자를 내용 정보 간의 상호 연관성을 표현하기에 적합한 XML로 구조화 하여 효과 적인 검색이 가능한 내용기반 검색 시스템을 제안한다.

  • 최근 데이터베이스 시스템 분야에서는 각종 비쥬얼 시뮬레이터, 가상현실, 게임 등과 같은 응용이 등장함에 따라서 3차원 이미지 데이터의 중요성이 높아지게 되었고 이에 대한 검색 및 관리가 필요하게 되었다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 3차원 이미지 데이터베이스에서 내용기반 검색을 지원하기 위한 모델링 방법과 3차원 이미지 데이터베이스 시스템의 구조를 제시한다. 이를 위한 요소기술로서 3차원 객체의 모델링 기법과 객체간이 공간관계 표현 기법이 제시되었다.

A Design and Implemention of an Article Union Cataloging System Based on Metadata (메타데이터 기반 학술지 논문 종합 목록 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • As the rapid develoment of internet and information technology, the traditional library has been altered to the digital content service based on the world wide web. This paper proposes a design and implementation of an Artcle Union Catalog System(AUCS) based on metadata. The metadata set for the AUCS consists of twelve Dublin Core elements and one holdings element. The qualifiers of the proposed metadata elements are also represented. The AUCS system has an online cooperated cataloging system using the web interface or the 239.50 protocol, an union cataloging management system, and an integrated information retrieved system service. The integrated search and retrieval service of the AUCS displays not only the summary and detailed bibliographic information, but also the abstract, the table of contents, the digital content, and the copylfax service.

  • We describe a method for streaming specific section using the section information among peers on P2P network. As peers tend to extract only the part of contents in which they are interested, an indexed file is created based on the section information of multimedia contents and registered in the search server. If a peer requests the streaming of specific parts of the contents to other corresponding peer using the section information that the server returns, the peer streams only separated section of the multimedia contents according to the information. For this process, we implement a function that a peer's PC can play a role as a server, and the peer streams the separated content based on the section information that the server supplies.

  • As the usage of the Internet grows and digital media become more diversified, it has become much easier for digital contents to be distributed and shared. This makes easier to access the desired digital contents. On the other hand, there is an increasing need to protect the copyright of digital works. There are some prevalent ways to protect ownership, but they accompany several disadvantages. Among those ways, watermarking methods have the advantage of ensuring invisibility, but they also have a disadvantage that they are vulnerable to external attacks such as a noise and signal processing. In this paper, we propose the detecting method of illegal contents that is robust against external attacks to protect digital works. We extract HSV and LBP features from images and use Euclidian-based hashing techniques to shorten the searching time on high-dimensional and near-duplicate videos. According to the results, the proposed method showed higher detection rates than that of the Watermarking techniques in terms of the images with fabrications or deformations.

EEIRI: Efficient Encrypted Image Retrieval in IoT-Cloud

  • One of the best means to safeguard the confidentiality, security, and privacy of an image within the IoT-Cloud is through encryption. However, looking through encrypted data is a difficult process. Several techniques for searching encrypted data have been devised, but certain security solutions may not be used in IoT-Cloud because such solutions are not lightweight. We propose a lightweight scheme that can perform a content-based search of encrypted images, namely EEIRI. In this scheme, the images are represented using local features. We develop and validate a secure scheme for measuring the Euclidean distance between two descriptor sets. To improve the search efficiency, we employ the k-means clustering technique to construct a searchable tree-based index. Our index construction process ensures the privacy of the stored data and search requests. When compared with more familiar techniques of searching images over plaintexts, EEIRI is considered to be more efficient, demonstrating a higher search cost of 7% and a decrease in search accuracy of 1.7%. Numerous empirical investigations are carried out in relation to real image collections so as to evidence our work.

  • MPEG-7 standardization work has started with the aims of providing fundamental tools for describing multimedia contents. MPEG-7 defines the syntax and semantics of descriptors and description schemes so that they may be used as fundamental tools for multimedia content description. In this paper, we introduce a texture based image description and retrieval method, which is adopted as the homogeneous texture descriptor in the visual part of the MPEG-7 final committee draft. The current MPEG-7 homogeneous texture descriptor consists of the mean, the standard deviation value of an image, energy, and energy deviation values of Fourier transform of the image. These are extracted from partitioned frequency channels based on the human visual system (HVS). For reliable extraction of the texture descriptor, Radon transformation is employed. This is suitable for HVS behavior. We also introduce various matching methods; for example, intensity-invariant, rotation-invariant and/or scale-invariant matching. This technique retrieves relevant texture images when the user gives a querying texture image. In order to show the promising performance of the texture descriptor, we take the experimental results with the MPEG-7 test sets. Experimental results show that the MPEG-7 texture descriptor gives an efficient and effective retrieval rate. Furthermore, it gives fast feature extraction time for constructing the texture descriptor.

Implementation of Image Retrieval System using Complex Image Features (복합적인 영상 특성을 이용한 영상 검색 시스템 구현)

  • Presently, Multimedia data are increasing suddenly in broadcasting and internet fields. For retrieval of still images in multimedia database, content-based image retrieval system is implemented in this paper that user can retrieve similar objects from image database after choosing a wanted query region of object. As to extract color features from query image, we transform color to HSV with proposed method that similarity is obtained it through histogram intersection with database images after making histogram. Also, query image is transformed to gray image and induced to wavelet transformation by which spatial gray distribution and texture features are extracted using banded autocorrelogram and GLCM before having similarity values. And final similarity values is determined by adding two similarity values. In that, weight value is applied to each similarity value. We make up for defects by taking color image features but also gray image features from query image. Elevations of recall and precision are verified in experiment results.

  • The multimedia that is characterized by multi-media, multi-features, multi-representations, huge volume, and varieties, is rapidly spreading out due to the increasing of application domains. Thus, it is urgently needed to develop a multimedia information system that can retrieve the needed information rapidly and accurately from the huge amount of multimedia data. For the content-based retrieval of moving picture, picture information is generally used. It is generally used when video is segmented. Through that, it can be a structural video browsing. The tasking that divides video to shot is called video segmentation, and detecting the cut for video segmentation is called cut detection. The goal of this paper is to divide moving picture using HMMD(Hue-Mar-Min-Diff) color model and edge histogram descriptor among the MPEG-7 visual descriptors. HMMD color model is more familiar to human's perception than the other color spaces. Finally, the proposed retrieval system is implemented as hardware.
