Super-distribution is essential for revitalization of digital contents industry in DRM system. Since existing DRM systems emphasize on security for intellectual property rights, it became restrictions to content distribution and the consumer rights. This paper suggests license management mechanism which strengthen super-distribution between consumers. It is to manage distribution history for each content by inserting consumer's identification information in content head. Client can verify security by comparing header and license after issuing license. It classifies the type of distribution and license, and then applies adaptive distribution methods. It can revitalize contents distribution by releasing proper license for super-distribution.
In wireless network, energy efficiency is an important design consideration for continuous multimedia streaming service. This paper proposes a new streaming system, called BACASS (Buffer-Aware and Content-Aware Streaming System) that working on the 802.11e U-APSD (Unscheduled Automatic Power Save). The BACASS leads the DP (Doze Period) of U-APSD for improving energy efficiency by utilizing the PSNR based on content-aware and client buffer occupancy that is hinged on a network-aware streaming system using SVC. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed streaming system.
Video based Point Cloud Compression (V-PCC) is one of the compression methods for compressing point clouds, and shows high efficiency in dynamic point cloud compression with movement due to the feature of compressing point cloud data using an existing video codec. Accordingly, V-PCC is drawing attention as a core technology for immersive content services such as AR/VR. In order to effectively service these V-PCC contents through a media streaming platform, it is necessary to encapsulate them in the existing media file format, ISO based Media File Format (ISOBMFF). However, in order to service through an adaptive streaming platform such as Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH), it is necessary to encode V-PCC contents of various qualities and store them in the server. Due to the size of the 2D media, it causes a great burden on the encoder and the server compared to the existing 2D media. As a method to solve such a problem, it may be considered to configure a streaming platform based on content obtained through V-PCC content encoding based on SHVC. Therefore, this paper encapsulates the SHVC-based V-PCC bitstream into ISOBMFF suitable for DASH service and proposes a configuration method to service it. In addition, in this paper, we propose ISOBMFF encapsulation and DASH configuration method to effectively service SHVC-based V-PCC contents, and confirm them through verification experiments.
Adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming technology has become an important and prevalent feature in many multimedia delivery systems, with content providers such as Netflix and Amazon using ABR streaming to increase bandwidth efficiency and provide the maximum user experience when channel conditions are not ideal. Where such systems could see improvement is in the delivery of live video with a closed loop cognitive control of video encoding. In this paper, we present streaming camera system which provides spatially and temporally adaptive video streams, learning the user's preferences in order to make intelligent scaling decisions. The system employs a hardware based H.264/AVC encoder for video compression. The encoding parameters can be configured by the user or by the cognitive system on behalf of the user when the bandwidth changes. A cognitive video client developed in this study learns the user's preferences (i.e. video size over frame rate) over time and intelligently adapts encoding parameters when the channel conditions change. It has been demonstrated that the cognitive decision system developed has the ability to control video bandwidth by altering the spatial and temporal resolution, as well as the ability to make scaling decisions
The wavefront printer records a volume-reflection hologram as a two-dimensional array of elemental holograms from computer-generated holograms (CGHs) displayed on a spatial light modulator (SLM). The wavefront coming from the object is extracted by filtering in the spatial-frequency domain. This paper presents a method to improve color reproduction in a wavefront printer with spatial division of exposures at primary colors, by adaptive partitioning of the SLM in accordance with the color content encoded in the input CGHs, and by the controllable change of exposure times for the recording of primary colors. The method is verified with a color wavefront printer with demagnification of the object beam. The quality of reconstruction achieved by the proposed method proves its efficiency in eliminating the stripe artifacts that are superimposed on reconstructed images in conventional mosaic recording.

Hierarchical B-frame coding was introduced into H.264/SVC to provide temporal scalability and improve coding performance. A content analysis-based adaptive group of picture structure (AGS) can further improve the coding efficiency, but damages the inter-frame correlation and temporal scalability of hierarchical B-frame to different degrees. In this paper, we propose a group of pictures (GOP) adaptation coding method based on the positions of video cuts. First, the cut positions are accurately detected by the combination of motion coherence (MC) and mutual information (MI); then the GOP is adaptively and proportionately set by the analysis of MC in one scene. In addition, we propose a binary tree algorithm to achieve the temporal scalability of any size of GOP. The results for test sequences and real videos show that the proposed method reduces the bit rate by up to about 15%, achieves a performance gain of about 0.28-1.67 dB over a fixed GOP, and has the advantages of better transmission resilience and video summaries.

Multispectral image is wavelet trans formed and classified into one of three classes considering reference characteristics of the subband with the lowest resolution. Recently, aegis of authentitation and creator's copyright has become a matter of great concern by the diffusion of multimedia technique and the growth of the internet and the easily duplicated property of digital data. Consequently, many active researches have been made to protect copyright and to assure integrity by inserting watermark into the digital data. In this paper, watermark is repeated through the entire image and adapted to the content of the image.

This paper proposes the use of an adaptive Wiener filter for edge-preserving image filtering. Images are partitioned into a set of blocks of pixels which is divided into five subsets of blocks according to their edge contents and orientations. Each subset of blocks is used to define a covariance matrix, from which a Wiener filter is derived. Five covariance matrices and Wiener filters are thus obtained. An image-block classifier using the five sets of covariance matrices of the class is designed to classify each incoming block of pixels according to its edge content in the presence of noise. Experimental results are included to verify the usefulness of the proposed method.

The cluster system with shared-nothing storage cannot escape from the problem of skewed request toward specific contents. This paper, therefore, suggests streaming method using MDC (Multiple Description Coding) instead of using single original content; this method is able to cope with skewed request in shared-nothing storage server as well as to continue to provide services in case of the system failure. Also, the system can support adaptive streaming service according to user player type, network status, the load of server, and client.
According to the advancement of display devices, the multi-screen contents display environment is growing to be accepted for the display exhibition area. The objectives of this research are to find communications technology and to design an editor interface of contents delivery system for the larger and adaptive multi-display workspaces. The proposed system can find existence of display devices and get information without any additional tools like marker, and can recognize device layout with only web-cam and image processing technology. The multi-display contents delivery system is composed of devices with three roles; display device, editor device, and fixed server. The editor device which has the role of main control uses UPnP technology to find existence and receive information of display devices. extract appointed color in captured picture using a tracking library to recognize the physical layout of display devices. After the device information and physical layout of display devices are connected, the content delivery system allows the display contents to be sent to the corresponding display devices through WebSocket technology. Also the experimental results show the possibility of our device connection and layout recognition techniques can be utilized for the large spaced and adaptive multi-display applications.
