대변형 탄소성 접촉문제에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Elastic-Plastic Contact Problem for Large Deformation)

  • In this research, a numerical algorithm has been developed, which can be applied to the large deformation and large displacement contact problems between two deformable bodies. The contact conditions expressed in terms of the rate of angle change have been proposed considering the change in geometric shape and rate of contact force. A set of linear simultaneous equations is constructed by adding the geometric shape change and contact conditions to the original stiffness matrix. A new method to determine time increment has been proposed based on Euler method, in which the condition to prevent the contact bodies from penetrating and overrunning each other has been taken into consideration. Practical application to contact problem is extrusion in which bodies are sliding along the contact boundary.

  • In multibody dynamic analysis including contact and impact, there are two major analysis methods, i.e., piecewise analysis and continuous analysis. Modeling of contact phenomena is mainly classified with a Kelvin-Voigt model or a model of Hertz contact model. In this paper, a contact module fur AutoDyn7 program was developed and implemented. Both the Kelvin-Voigt model and a model of Hertz contact law were developed. The process of this module is composed of contact distinction and the contact force calculation. Two examples were verified and compared to the commercial program DADS.

  • Many applications in mechanical design involve elastic bodies coming into contact under the action of the applied load. The distribution of the contact pressure throughout the contact interface plays an important role in the performance of the contact system. In many applications, it is desirable to minimize the maximum contact pressure or to have an approximately uniform contact pressure distribution. Such requirements can be attained through a proper design of the initial surfaces of the contacting bodies. This problem involves a combination of two disciplines, contact mechanics and shape optimization. Therefore, the objective of the present paper is to develop an integrated procedure capable of evaluating the optimal shape of contacting bodies. The adaptive incremental convex programming method is adopted to solve the contact problem, while the augmented Lagrange multiplier method is used to control the shape optimization procedure. Further, to accommodate the manufacturing requirements, surface parameterization is considered. The proposed procedure is applied to a couple of problems, with different geometry and boundary conditions, to demonstrate the efficiency and versatility of the proposed procedure.

  • Low-velocity impact on composite sandwich panel has been investigated. For the study, a finite element program is coded using 18-node assumed strain solid element and Newmark-beta method. Contact force is calculated from a proposed modified contact low. The finite element code is verified by solving typical example. The calculated impact behavior agreed well with experimental result.

  • Sensitivity analysis scheme is developed in the elasto-plastic finite element method with explicit time integration using direct differentiation method. The direct differentiation is concerned with the time integration, constitutive relation, shell element with reduced integration and the contact scheme. Sensitivity analysis results are mainly examined with the highly nonlinear and quasi-static problem with the complicated contact condition. The result shows stable sensitivity especially in the sheet metal forming analysis.

부분구조법을 이용한 2차원 프레팅 마모 해석 (Analysis of Two-Dimensional Fretting Wear Using Substructure Method)

  • Fretting, which is a special type of wear, is defined as small amplitude tangential oscillation along the contacting interface between two materials. In nuclear power plants, fretting wear caused by flow induced vibration (FIV) can make a serious problem in a U-tube bundle in steam generator. In this study, substructure method is developed and is verified the feasibility for the finite element model of fretting wear problems. This method is applied to the two-dimensional finite element analyses, which simulate the contact behavior of actual tube to support. For these examples, computing time can be reduced up to 1/5 in comparisons with conventional finite element analyses.

  • The modern orthopaedics frequently uses the total hip replacement in the artificial hip joint. The wear in this joint requires the re-replacement of the hip joint beacuse it is under the severe load and friction conditions. To solve these problems the previous studies have been mainly focused on the development of the new materials. The research of new material, however, needs much time and effort since it should be experimented for its bio-compatibility, friction, and wear characteristics. To reduce the work, in this study, the finite element analysis is applied to find the new combination of the materials in the total hip replacement which has the excellent contact characteristics. The finite element uses MARC and the 5-node aximetric element. The results show that in case of acetabulum UHMWP has good characteristics, in femoral head, the $Al_2O_3$, and in stem, Ti6Al4V.

  • In curing Process of tire, Contact and slip occurs between green tire and curing bladder. The curing process is a critical step in the manufacture of tires. In this investigation, curing bladder shaping is examined using a finite element method. Specifically, a finite element model between the inner part of green tire and the outer part of curing bladder is generated using contact element and curing bladder is generated using incompressible element, The experimental tensile tests are used to get the material properties of bladder rubber on practical conditions. Numerical analyses are performed on two different bladder types, different overall outer diameters of curing bladder and different heights of curing bladder.

  • The discrete element method is a numerical model capable of describing the mechanical behaviour of assemblies of discs and spheres. The method is based on the use of an explicit numerical scheme in which the interaction of the particles is monitored contact by contact and the motion of the particles modelled particle by particle. In this paper, A two-dimensional model for computing contacts and motions of granular particles of unform, inelasticity is presented. And, code is developed. The primary aim of this paper is to approv computational result of continuum alaysis which is on processing. The end of this paper, that code is tested with several examples.

Finite element analysis of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) strengthened reinforced concrete beams

  • This paper presents investigation of a three-dimensional (3-D) nonlinear finite element model analysis to examine the behavior of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) composites to enhance the flexural capacity and ductility of the beams. Three-dimensional nonlinear finite element models were developed between the internal reinforcement and concrete using a smeared relationship. In addition, bond models between the concrete surface and CFRP composite were developed using a smeared bond for general analyses and a contact bond for sensitivity analyses. The results of the FEA were compared with the experimental data on full-scale members. The results of two finite-element bonding models showed good agreement with those of the experimental tests.
