접촉모델에 따른 AFM 팀의 배선형 동역학 비교 (Nonlinear Dynamics of AFM Tip with Different Contact Models)

  • Tapping mode atomic force microscopy (TM-AFM) utilizes the dynamic response of a resonating probe tip as it approaches and retracts from a sample to measure the topography and material properties of a nanostructure. We present recent results based on numerical techniques that yield new perspectives and insight into AFM. It is compared that the dynamic models including van der Waals and Derjaguin-Muller-Toporov(DMT) or Johnson-Kendall-Roberts(JKR) contact forces demonstrates that periodic solutions can be represented with respect to the approach distance and excitation frequency.

  • In the development of positioning device for precision manufacturing and measuring, the friction from mechanical contact causes serious decrease of performance. In this study, we studied about variable reluctance type contact-free linear actuator to overcome drawbacks from friction. In the view of electromagnetics, we analyzed and derived theoretical magnetic force equation and designed structure for generating suspension and propulsion force simultaneously. In the view of dynamics, we derived equation of motion and identified the stability of the system. Finally, we verified the feasibility of the proposed system.

  • In tapping mode atomic force microscopy (TM-AFM), the vibro-contact response of a resonating tip is used to measure the nanoscale topology and other properties of a sample surface. However, the nonlinear tipsurface interactions can affect the tip response and destabilize the tapping mode control. Especially it is difficult to obtain a good scanned image of high adhesion surfaces such as polymers and biomolecules using conventional tapping mode control. In this study, theoretical and experimental investigations are made on the nonlinear dynamics and control of TM-AFM. Also we report the surface adhesion is an additional important parameter to determine the control stability of TM-AFM. In addition, we proved that it was adequate to use Johnson-Kendall-Roberts (JKR) contact model to obtain a reasonable tapping response in AFM for the soft and high adhesion samples.

  • For a large deformation nonlinear dynamic analysis of two-dimensional frictional contact, the linear complementarity formulation combined with a linearization is used. The solution procedure is based on the total Lagrangian formulation with a predictor and corrector scheme. For contact searching, a hierarchical scheme with a circular territory is used. A second-order approximation of displacements is used to detect impact time and position. The formulation is illustrated by means of numerical examples.

  • Wheel/Rail geometric constraint relationships, such as effective conicity and gravitational stiffness, strongly influence the lateral dynamics of railway vehicles. In general, these geometric contact characteristics are nonlinear functions of the wheelset lateral displacement. There is a need to develop a wheel/rail contact simulation program for wheels and rails with arbitrary profiles for the prediction of the dynamic behavior of railway vehicles. An algorithm to simulate any combination of wheels and rails is employed and a GUI for easy analysis is constructed. The simulation program is applied to KTX which will run on both KTX and conventional rails, two rail standards having different rail profiles.   • A realtime simulator using an explicit integration method is introduced to improve the solving performance for the dynamic analysis of a wheeled vehicle. Because a full vehicle system has many parts, the development of a numerical technique for multiple d.o.f. and ground contacts has been required to achieve a realtime dynamics analysis. This study proposes an efficient realtime solving technique that considers the wheeled vehicle dynamics behavior with full degrees of freedom and wheel contact with soft ground such as sand or undersea ground. A combat vehicle was developed to verify this method, and its dynamics results are compared with commercial programs using implicit integration methods. The combat vehicle consists of a chassis, double wishbone type front and rear suspension, and drive train. Some cases of vehicle dynamics analysis are carried out to verify the realtime ratio.

  • 3 차원 캠의 하나인 배럴캠은 자동화 생산 기계에서 인덱스 드라이브 유닛의 부품으로 많이 사용된다. 캠의 회전축과 종동절의 회전축이 90 도의 위상으로 직교한다. 인덱스 드라이브는 일정한 속도로 회전하는 캠의 입력에 대해 회전하고 정지한다. 터렛이 배럴캠의 회전에 의해 작동하는 동안 종이컵이 매우 빠르고 정확하게 성형된다. 그러나, 배럴캠과 종동절사이의 지속적인 미끄럼 접촉에 의해 점착마모가 발생하며 이러한 마모는 시스템의 성능에 영향을 준다. 결과적으로 제품의 불량율을 증가시킨다. 본 연구에서는 종이컵 성형기에 사용되는 배럴캠의 마모에 영향을 주는 인자가 접촉력임을 확인한다. 배럴캠과 롤러 사이의 접촉력은 다물체 동역학 모델을 이용해 계산한다. 그리고 해석 결과와 실제 시스템의 마모부와 비교를 통해 중요 마모 인자가 접촉력임을 검증한다.

트랙터-트레일러형 차량 시스템의 주행 충격진동 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the shock & vibration characteristics of a tractor-trailer type vehicle system running on the road)

  • It is known that displacements, velocities and accelerations of the tractor- trailer type vehicle system in shock & vibration analysis by the flexible-multi-body dynamics including the flexibility of structure are bigger and more repetitive than them by the rigid-multi-body dynamics, and it is necessary to prove above results by the experimental field test. Therefore, in this paper, theoretical analysis by the flexible-multi-body dynamics and experimental field test for a tractor-trailer type vehicle system are conducted and their results are compared with each other. Because of unexpected metal contact and impact in the air coupler part in the field test, some accelerations measured from the experimental field test are bigger than them analyzed from the theoretical analysis, but most accelerations are well coincide with each other in the amplitudes and trends. Thus more refined dynamic analytical models for some special type vehicle systems will be possible in the future.

A Proposal of a New Model of Wheel and Tractor Dynamics that Includes Lift Resistance

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a new dynamic model of wheels and agricultural tractors through verification of the existence of " lift resistance " and "perpendicular adhesion" which also can be called " contra-retractive adhesion". The existence of these forces was proved through experiments including the development of a sensor which can measure the forces acting on a wheel accurately. Consequently " perpendicular adhesion ratio" which is defined as the ratio of the perpendicular adhesion to the distributed load was observed to be in the range of 0.05 to 0.3. This means the influence of the " lift resistance " is comparable to that of motion resistance in wheel dynamics. The perpendicular adhesion ratio was observed to decrease logarithmically with the increase of ground contact pressure, and to increase linearly with increase of the travel speed of the wheel . Some examples to express the new dynamic model compared to the conventional dynamics are explained.

등가답면구배를 목적함수로 하는 차륜답면형상 설계기법 (Design Method of Railway Wheel Profile with Objective Function of Eqivalent Conicity)

  • A design method of railway wheel profile with objective function of equivalent conicity considering wheel dimension constraint, two points contact problem between wheel and rail was proposed. New design method shows good results. New wheel profile generated from optimization process shows better dynamic performance compared with initial profile as the purpose of wheel profile design. And to verify the design method with testing the stability of new wheel profile, we conducted a critical speed test for new wheel profile using scale model applied scaling method of railway vehicle dynamics. The result of critical speed test show good agreement with that of numerical analysis. From the above results, it is seen that the design method with objective function of equivalent conicity is feasible and it could be applied to design new wheel profile efficiently.
