  • This research is purposed to analyze the effect of firms' current socially responsible management on the future corporate financial performance with specified areas of socially responsible management according to the beneficiaries. Tobin's Q statistic and return on assets are calculated and exploited as measures of corporate financial performance. as of empirical analysis results, we found that the social contributions in the consumer area and external social contribution at time t influence the Tobin's Q statistic at time (t+1) in the aggregate analysis. as it is revealed that there is no effect in the firms with the outstanding social performance to the future corporate financial performance, we understand that the capital market is very sensitive to the external social contribution including consumers of firms with the weak social performance rather than the social contribution of socially outstanding firms. This sensitivity of capital market can effectively enhance the social contribution of firms, in particular listed firms with the weak social performance.

  • In our society, consumers and enterprises work in cooperation for the continuous development and growth of society as well as construct effective and ethical measures. One of the representative examples are customercentered management activities in corporations, social responsibility activities, and sustainable ethical consumption that show consideration for the consumer's environment. The ethical consumption behavior of consumers becomes a virtuous circle that influences other consumer's ethical decision making by creating an ethical consumption culture. Furthermore, the cost and effort to solve non-ethical consumption problems can be solved. This research aims at aspiring the perception of consumer's ethical consumption and finding measures to increase ethical behavior. This paper further investigated the consumer's ethical consumption behavior, personality traits, perception of consumption society, and ethical judgements. For the research, a structured survey was conducted on 300 university students in Seoul. SPSS ver. 21.0 and AMOS ver. 18.0 programs were used for statistical data analysis. The results indicated differences in variables that influence consumer's ethical consumption behavior (fair trade, boycotts, and environmentally friendly products). In particular, it was evident that ethical judgements (such as the agent, personality traits, and perception consumption society) have different direct and non-direct influences on ethical consumption behavior. Strengthening the management of factors that influence measures that increase university student's ethical consumption behavior in direct and non-direct ways, providing education and improving information are believed effective in increasing ethical consumption behavior.

  • Purpose - This study aims to find ways to have CSR efforts lead to a purchase decision. For this purpose, this research examines the influence of the perceived CSR proximity on the purchase intention and studies the moderating role of psychological distance. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 185 undergraduate students from a university in Korea were recruited and were randomly assigned to the conditions of a 2 (CSR proximity: close vs. far) × 2 (temporal distance: near vs. distant) × 2 (information type: concrete vs. abstract) between-subjects design. ANOVA was conducted to test the hypotheses. Results - When consumers construe a purchase decision at a high level via the far psychological distance, a firm's CSR efforts are considered important for the purchase decision. Conversely, when consumers construe a purchase decision at a low level via the near psychological distance, a firm's CSR efforts are not considered for the purchase decision. Conclusions - This research demonstrates that people have a greater intention to purchase products from a firm whose CSR proximity is perceived as being close rather than far. Furthermore, this study shows that the psychological distance moderates the effect of CSR proximity on the purchase intention.

  • This study examines how environmental consciousness and socially responsible clothing consumption attitude influence people's perceptions of the consequences of fast fashion. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey administered to females in their 20s to 40s, and a total of 430 surveys were used in the final analysis. The research results are as follows. First, environmental consciousness-which was conceptualized as interest in consumer effectiveness and the environment-had a positive influence on attitudes toward socially responsible clothing consumption attitude, i.e., clothing recycling and resource conservation. As the perception of consumer effectiveness was high, respondents had a tendency not to follow trends. Second, consumers with a high level of interest in the environment perceived the effect of fast fashion on the environment as serious, and they felt negatively toward personal use of fast fashion. Third, consumers with strong resource conservation behavior perceived the effect of fast fashion on the environment as serious, but those with positive attitudes toward secondhand clothing did not appear to have that perception. Finally, consumers who followed trends and those with weakly held attitudes about resource conservation felt positively toward personal use of fast fashion. The results of this research indicate that environmental consciousness is an important factor for socially responsible clothing consumption behavior. In addition, consumers with strong attitudes regarding resource conservation were more perceptive of the negative effect of fast fashion on the environment.

  • This study examines the impact of CSR and its authenticity on customer loyalty through the brand image in the chain coffee shop industry. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, 601 survey questionnaires were distributed, of which 491 were analyzed. The results show that CSR has a positive impact on brand image and customer loyalty. In addition, authenticity does not moderate the impact of CSR on brand image and loyalty, as it is difficult for customers to verify the authenticity of CSR action programs. This study emphasizes the importance of CSR action programs and authenticity for businesses to sustainably enhance their distinctive brand image and customer loyalty. Therefore, for sustainable development in the future, managers of coffee shop chains need to focus on the following issues. First, the most important thing is the right awareness of businesses regarding CSR and CSR authenticity. Third, businesses should strengthen the transparency of CSR action programs in various media so that consumers can easily verify authenticity, to increase brand image and improve customer loyalty.

  • This study was initiated to inquire as to why Wal-Mart failed in the Korean market. For multi-national corporations, environmental differences such as cultural and social differences among countries require business strategies to vary country by country. In Korea, Confucian Ethics are penetrated in every aspect of people's lives. An important aspect of Confucian Ethics is the role and responsibility of women in society. Considering this, businesses need to understand Korean women's preferences as consumers and develop business strategies accordingly. This study emphasizes that IS strategy is one component of the business strategy and, as such, must be rooted in business issues. Understanding that IS strategy should fit to national contexts, this study investigates the underlying process in which IT-based strategic capability is developed according to national context to gain competitive advantages.

The ranges of score of each question on corporate images after and before providing CSR information were 3.21-3.94 and 3.89-4.62, respectively. Also, the ranges of score of each question on repurchase intention after and before providing CSR information were 3.11-4.64 and 3.60-4.67, respectively. • The growth paradigm that has led Korea for the last few decades is now reaching its critical point. Rather than focusing on the outcomes created by severe competitions of individual companies, a growth based on win-win system and solidarity focusing on public interests is more called for. In this background, I would like to examine the concept of corporate publicness and what factors consist of it. The study aims to verify a causal relationship that corporate publicness affects the corporation's social responsibility and consumers' favorability and credulity toward the company, and looks for the possibility that corporate publicness is recognized as a corporation's substantive competitiveness and an important management activity for its sustainability. The results of the study shows that corporate publicness is composed of 5 dimensions: sincerity, activeness, pursuit of public interest, harmony, and community spirit. Then the study statistically verifies that corporate publicness significantly has a positive impact on the overall evaluation results of a corporation's social responsibility. Lastly, the study confirms that corporate publicness and socially responsible activity of a company have a positive influence overall on the attitude toward the corporate brand. Based on these results, an implication is drawn that strengthening corporate publicness and its practice in action should be emphasized for a corporation to keep making outstanding performances in a sustainable way.
