Cold brew coffee extracted from cold water for a long time has drawn public concern over hygiene. This study was carried out to investigate the microbiological contamination levels and caffeine contents in cold brew coffee. A total of 75 cold brew coffees were purchased from offline and online sources. As a result, the average number of bacteria in samples purchased online was 1.14 log CFU/mL (0-6.57 log CFU/mL), while bacteria were not detected in samples purchased offline. Therefore, stricter surveys are required to avoid the food contamination. However, Esherichia coli and nine types of foodborne pathogens were not detected in all samples. The average caffeine content of the samples was 1.6 mg/mL (384 mg/240 mL), so the caffeine almost reached to acceptable daily intake levels (400 mg for adults). However, ten products did not provide any precautions for consumer safety, so improvement of the system is needed. This monitoring data can contribute to the protection of consumer rights and improvement in the safety of cold brew coffee.

This paper is focussed on the main features and problems of SGA amendment. main features and problems are as below. First, SGA section 14 uses a new term, that of "satisfactory quality", which is defined in a somewhat circular way and introduces some guidelines in order to solve other problems perceived as arising under the "merchantable quality". The change was largely to assist in the better resolution of consumer disputes and not necessary for commercial disputes because the change involves the substitution of a phrase which meant something but was inappropriate to commercial disputes. As with the definition of "merchantable quality", a court can take the new formulation as an invitation to start afresh; or it can refer to the previous case law. Second, before the SGA amendment, a contract for the sale of undifferentiated part of a bulk shipped or to be shipped on a named ship was a contract for the sale of unascertained goods. So the effect was that property could not pass to the buyer, even though he had paid the price in full, before the goods become ascertained. The main object of the SGA amendment was to improve the buyer's position where he had paid for a specified quantity of goods forming an undifferentiated part of an identified bulk and the seller then became insolvent before the goods for which the buyer had paid were ascertained. The improvement was achieved by making section 16 of the SGA 1979 subject to a new section 20A and includig section 20B, under which a buyer of a specified quantity bulk can acquire a proprietary interest in the bulk. This proprietary solution still has some problems in international sale of goods. Therefore, it would be more appropriated SGA should settle disputes between parties through payment, passing of risk, delivery of goods and/or documents etc. instead of property rights like UCC.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to find out in extent to which the companies in Korea and oversea, which has been subjected by different laws of their country, have guaranteed the personal information rights and have provided proper 'right to access' to the information subjects. Design/methodology/approach This study compared Korean laws with 'General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)' of EU and 'California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)' to check each of the level of 'right to access' guarantee. In terms of the difference in guaranteeing the right, this study compared Korean IT leading companies with US global leading IT companies to find out how much 'right to access' are properly implemented in their policies and functions they provide. Findings The result of the study shows that 'right to access' has not been well guaranteed by Korean law, as it does not provide the right to choose method and medium by information subjects and does not clarify the types of diverse information. This was clearly opposite with the other laws providing the right to choose what method and medium that subjects want with clarifying every types of personal information possible to be more. In addition, 'right to access' has not been well guaranteed by Korean companies in comparison with by the oversea companies which proactively guarantee the right by setting the function enabling subjects to browse their information through their websites or applications.
This paper claims the argument that the taste of own is not the intrinsic value but is determined by the environment or habitus, based on Bourdieu's theory. This concept of taste leads up to a natural stream of imitation and alignment. We conclude that the stream is the fashion which be justified by the major agreement. But the nature of fashion exists in hegemony and determines a sense of kinship or a point of difference. In this regard, popular cultures as a window circulated fashion have a negative consequence that can be method of discriminating the minority and justifying vested rights. Accordingly, we have to become wary of the strategy of control using fashion and popular cultures, and need to recognize the prior paradigm about fashion. In the process, we can expect that fandom or counter cultures based on digital high technology constitute subjectivity and dynamics of popular by interaction between the objects.
Korea's medical law prohibited medical advertisements in principle and permitted them on an exceptional cases. However, the decision of the Constitutional Court of 20005. 10. 27. 20003 Heonga 3, it was changed to a negative system which allows advertisements in principle and restricted only exceptionally. Dramatic increase of medical advertisements was made after that and many argued more deregulation because there was actually heavy regulations. In particular, there is almost no actual regulation on the article type advertisement due to the reason of protection of the freedom of press, media and occupation. However, there may be an unjust result if a specific article or specialists' opinion is made using a newspaper, broadcasting or magazine as a form of article type advertisement to specific medical specialists or medical institution or medical treatment method that falsifies consumers or makes consumers confused by unjust medical expectations or reliability, that also deteriorates just competition and that causes the misrecognition of consumers. In fact, there were actual damages of article type advertisements on the eye whitening surgery not long after the transfer to a negative system of medical advertisements. Victims raised a medical proceeding against the doctor who carried out the surgery, but there is actually no systematic warranty except for the indemnity request. Thus, this case demonstrated a vulnerable result of a negative system. As such, it is problematic that there is no proper regulations defined in the current law and regulations because of the reason of the protection of the freedom of press, publication and occupation despite damages of such article type advertisements. Accordingly, it is urgent to apply the current prevention regulations on the article type advertisements strictly, and to set up specific regulations.
As Multi-National Enterprises expanded their investments to foreign countries, numerous controversies and disputes arose from their negative impacts, such as violations of human rights and damage to the environment of the host countries. In response, International Organizations such as the OECD have considered various ways to prevent these negative impacts and search for more efficient dispute resolution methods. It is recognized that the OECD Guideline is one of the tools they created for this purpose. The OECD Guideline is contrastable from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives which are regarded as a corporation's charity activities apart from their core business functions. However, Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) like the OECD Guideline can be understood as a concept moving forward from CSR, due to its requirements that corporations carry out their duties in a responsible manner within the field of their core business, such as tax, global supply chain or consumer protection. RBC which is binding in nature, has even been implemented through legislation in developed countries such as the USA, France, Switzerland, and the UK. The discussion in Korea, however, has not reached that level. Discussions for legislation center singularly on CSR efforts, with a dialogue only recently forming around the topic of legislation concerning RBC. Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) who lack certain financial and other resources to adequately develop RBC initiatives may find this more obstacles to implementation through legislated RBC, than if it were presented in Korea through other means. It's necessary to admit that RBC is a critical issue in international business. However, time is required to consider its application directly to SMEs.
This study intends to offer suggestions for improving the security and competitive power of traditional liquors by investing in the status of intellectual property rights. Merchandising and the marketing strategies of traditional liquor are also addressed. The data was collected through a questionnaire survey given to 101 CEOs of traditional liquor manufacturers. The major results of this study were as follows: The management types of traditional liquor manufacturers were classified as the company 57 (56.4%), the corporation or the union 29 (28.7%), domestic industry 10 (9.9%), and marketing community or technology center 5 (5.0%). The competitive power degree of traditional liquor products was classified as strength 30 (31.6%), usual 30 (31.6%), weakness 35 (36.8%). The elements of strong competitive power were taste, functional (wellbeing) character, and attractiveness of the brand name. On the other side, reasons for weakness in competitive power were the marketing system, price competitiveness, and advertisement. The trademark registration of the traditional liquor appeared with 53%. The reasons not to pursue a trademark registration included the complicated and unnecessary process of registration acquisition, high registration expenses, etc. The perceptions of CEOs about the consumer's brand awareness for their product were low with an average 2.97. Explanations included insufficient advertisement and public relations, unrefined trademark design, and the meaninglessness of brand names. The marketing strategy of traditional liquor manufacturers according to annual sales were as follows: Manufacturers with high sales emphasized marketing strategies that focused on functional character, traditional image, high quality in image and package materials and design, high price strategies based on quality, and various sale promotions.
Pufferfish (Takifugu spp.) are economically important edible marine fish. Mistakes in pufferfish classification can lead to poisoning; therefore, accurate species identification is critical. In this study, we used the mtDNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene (COI) to design specific primers for six Takifugu species among the 21 domestic or imported pufferfish species legally sold for consumption in Korea. We rapidly and simultaneously identified these pufferfish species using a highly efficient, multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) system with the six species-specific primers. The results showed that species-specific multiplex PCR (multiplex species-specific polymerase chain reaction; MSS-PCR) either specifically amplified PCR products of a unique size or failed. MSS-PCR yielded amplification fragment lengths of 897 bp for Takifugu pardalis, 822 bp for T. porphyreus, 667 bp for T. niphobles, 454 bp for T. poecilonotus, 366 bp for T. rubripes, and 230 bp for T. xanthpterus using the species-specific primers and a control primer (ca. 1,200 bp). We visualized the results using agarose gel electrophoresis to obtain accurate contrasts of the six Takifugu species. MSS-PCR analysis is easily performed and provides identification results within 6 h. This technique is a powerful tool for the discrimination of Takifugu species and will help prevent falsified labeling, protect consumer rights, and reduce the risk of pufferfish poisoning..

The structure of medical profession is composed of multiple relations among state, patients, and medical professions. There are conflicts between the nation and medical professions because the nation controls the monopoly of medical professions through medical policies. Patients make relations with medical profession as medical consumers. And medical professions compete each other in order to gain the control of the medical market. This paper attempts to review the dynamic relations between the nation and medical professions. The medical professions and the nation are in conflict about the control of the autonomy of medical professions. The medical professions want to exercise the monopoly rights in their own area and, on the other had, the nation wants to prevent problems that might result from the monopoly by regulations and to have the control over the national operation. Given this, the common view of medical sociology is that the nation and the medical professions are in constant conflict. The arguments that the present medical sociology has on the relationship between the nation and medical professions can be summarized like these: first, the nation is the authenticator of medical system; second, the nation is a medical provider and consumer; and, third, the nation is a mediator of regulations and conflicts. Based on the above mentioned relations between the nation and medical professions, this paper attempts to see how the nation, which is one component of the medical structure, make influences on Korean Oriental doctors and Traditional Chinese doctors. So as to do this, the changes in medical policies and promoting policies for Korean Oriental medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine are analyzed. Finally, the differences in national policies of Korean Oriental medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine are compared.
