무선 멀티미디어 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율적인 협력 통신 방법 (An Energy-Aware Cooperative Communication Scheme for Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks)

  • 무선 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율을 높이기 위해 클러스터링 방법이 제안되었다. 클러스터링 방법은 데이터를 수집하고 전달하는 계층 구조를 형성하고 있다. 그러나 대용량 데이터를 전송하는 무선 멀티미디어 센서 네트워크에서 기존의 무선 센서 네트워크의 클러스터링 기법은 과도한 데이터 전송에너지 소모량과 극도로 짧은 수명으로 인하여 적용하는 데에 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 상황에 따른 협력 통신 기법을 적용한 대용량 데이터 전송 방법으로 EEAC를 제안하여 에너지 효율을 높였다. 실험결과 제안방법은 기존의 방법보다 에너지 효율이 약 2.5배 향상되었음을 보였다.

  • The charge redistribution digital-to-analog converter(CR-DAC) is often used for successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter(SAR ADC) that requiring low power consumption and small circuit area. However, CR-DAC is required 2 to the power of N unit capacitors to generate reference voltage for successive approximation of the N-bit SAR ADC, and many unit capacitors occupy large circuit area and consume more power. In order to improve this problem, this paper proposes SAR ADC using series capacitor DAC. The series capacitor DAC is required 2(1+N) unit capacitors to generate reference voltage for successive approximation and charges only two capacitors of the reference generation block. Because of these structural characteristics, the SAR ADC using series capacitor DAC can reduce the power consumption and circuit area. Proposed SAR ADC was designed in CMOS 180nm process, and at 1.8V supply voltage and 500kS/s sampling rate, proposed 6-bit SAR ADC have signal-to-noise and distortion ratio(SNDR) of 36.49dB, effective number of bits(ENOB) of 5.77-bit, power consumption of 294uW.

STO 기반 클러스터 헤더 선출 알고리즘 (STO-based Cluster Header Election Algorithm)

  • 본 논문은 센서 네트워크의 주요 문제점인 센서 노드의 이탈과 네트워크 변화에 따른 네트워크 수명 감소를 개선하기 위한 논문이다. 기존 Scalable Topology Organization(STO) 기반 지그비 트리 토폴로지 컨트롤 알고리즘은 전력 소모에 대한 방안을 고려하지 않아 네트워크의 수명이 비교적 짧았다. 이에 따라 매 라운드가 지날때마다 부모 노드를 새로 선출하고 네트워크 토폴로지를 새로 구성하는 클러스터 헤더 선출 기법을 도입하여 네트워크의 전체적인 수명을 연장하였다. 이에 대한 성능은 OMNet++ 시뮬레이터를 통해 동일한 실험 환경에서 기존의 STO 알고리즘과 제안하는 클러스터 헤더 선출 기법을 도입했을 때의 결과를 도출하였고 그 결과 네트워크 수명을 약 40% 증가시킬 수 있었으며 배터리 잔량 부분에서도 약 10%의 성능이 개선된 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

An Energy Efficient Multi-hop Cluster-Head Election Strategy for Wireless Sensor Networks

  • According to the double-phase cluster-head election method (DCE), the final cluster heads (CHs) sometimes are located at the edge of cluster. They have a long distance from the base station (BS). Sensor data is directly transmitted to BS by CHs. This makes some nodes consume much energy for transmitting data and die earlier. To address this problem, energy efficient multi-hop cluster-head election strategy (EEMCE) is proposed in this paper. To avoid taking these nodes far from BS as CH, this strategy first introduces the distance from the sensor nodes to the BS into the tentative CH election. Subsequently, in the same cluster, the energy of tentative CH is compared with those of other nodes, and then the node that has more energy than the tentative CH and being nearest the tentative CH are taken as the final CH. Lastly, if the CH is located at the periphery of the network, the multi-hop method will be employed to reduce the energy that is consumed by CHs. The simulation results suggest that the proposed method exhibits higher energy efficiency, longer stability period and better scalability than other protocols.

못난이 농산물을 이용한 가공품에 대한 소비자 인식과 속성별 중요도 분석 (An Analysis of the Importance of Processed Products Using Ugly Agricultural Products by Attribute)

  • This study analyzed the factors influencing the demand for processed products of ugly agricultural products targeting 300 consumers. First, the awareness of the problem of the disposal of ugly agricultural products was very high at 72%. In other words, it can be seen that consumers are highly interested in environmental issues caused by the disposal of ugly agricultural products. Second, the experience of purchasing ugly agricultural products is high at 73%, which is proof that consumers are highly aware of and likely to purchase ugly agricultural products. Third, 77.6% of the respondents said they were willing to purchase processed ugly agricultural products. In other words, it was found that the intention to consume ugly agricultural products was sufficient. Finally, the conjoint analysis was applied to analyze the attribute value of ugly agricultural products. As a result of calculating the total utility of the optimal properties and optimal properties of the ugly fruit fermented, the total utility of the optimal properties was 0.778, the price was 0.481, the eco-friendly certification was 0.004, and the fruit syrup ratio was 0.294.

  • 본 논문에서는 클러스터링 무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 효율적으로 TDMA 스케줄링을 할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 기존의 연구에서는 유휴(idle) 구간과 스케줄(schedule) 구간을 매 프레임 수행해야하는 오버헤드가 발생하는데 이러한 오버헤드로 인하여 불필요한 에너지 소모가 일어나고, 전송 지연이 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하며 클러스터를 구성하고 있는 멤버 노드들의 수와 멤버 노드들이 가지고 있는 트래픽 부하(Traffic Load)를 사용하여 프레임을 동적으로 스케줄링 하는 알고리즘이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서 제안된 DS-MAC(Dyamic Sceheduling MAC) 프로토콜은 에너지 효율적이고, 전송 지연을 줄일 수 있는 장점을 가진다. 수학적 분석 방법을 사용하여 기존의 연구들과의 성능을 비교가 이루어졌다.

An Optimized Deep Learning Techniques for Analyzing Mammograms

  • Breast cancer screening makes extensive utilization of mammography. Even so, there has been a lot of debate with regards to this application's starting age as well as screening interval. The deep learning technique of transfer learning is employed for transferring the knowledge learnt from the source tasks to the target tasks. For the resolution of real-world problems, deep neural networks have demonstrated superior performance in comparison with the standard machine learning algorithms. The architecture of the deep neural networks has to be defined by taking into account the problem domain knowledge. Normally, this technique will consume a lot of time as well as computational resources. This work evaluated the efficacy of the deep learning neural network like Visual Geometry Group Network (VGG Net) Residual Network (Res Net), as well as inception network for classifying the mammograms. This work proposed optimization of ResNet with Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm's in order to predict breast cancers by means of mammogram images. The proposed TLBO-ResNet, an optimized ResNet with faster convergence ability when compared with other evolutionary methods for mammogram classification.

Performance Impact of Large File Transfer on Web Proxy Caching: A Case Study in a High Bandwidth Campus Network Environment

  • Since large objects consume substantial resources, web proxy caching incurs a fundamental trade-off between performance (i.e., hit-ratio and latency) and overhead (i.e., resource usage), in terms of caching and relaying large objects to users. This paper investigates how and to what extent the current dedicated-server based web proxy caching scheme is affected by large file transfers in a high bandwidth campus network environment. We use a series of trace-based performance analyses and profiling of various resource components in our experimental squid proxy cache server. Large file transfers often overwhelm our cache server. This causes a bottleneck in a web network, by saturating the network bandwidth of the cache server. Due to the requests for large objects, response times required for delivery of concurrently requested small objects increase, by a factor as high as a few million, in the worst cases. We argue that this cache bandwidth bottleneck problem is due to the fundamental limitations of the current centralized web proxy caching model that scales poorly when there are a limited amount of dedicated resources. This is a serious threat to the viability of the current web proxy caching model, particularly in a high bandwidth access network, since it leads to sporadic disconnections of the downstream access network from the global web network. We propose a peer-to-peer cooperative web caching scheme to address the cache bandwidth bottleneck problem. We show that it performs the task of caching and delivery of large objects in an efficient and cost-effective manner, without generating significant overheads for participating peers.

도심 임대아파트의 에너지 및 상수 소비 특성에 관한 연구 (An Analysis on the Characteristics of Energy and Water Consumption in Urban Rental Apartment)

  • It has been a serious problem to consume the energy of apartment while increasing to use of heating & cooling System because of residence environmental upgrades. Great attention has been shown to the problem of the rental apartment, so there are few reports of energy consumption about the rental apartment in korea. To solve the lack of housing, our country has supplied an enormous volume of apartments, and these days it occupies 75% of our buildings. As apartments occupy most of our housings, the rate of energy usage from them are also high. On this, setting apartment energy reduction as a target, by researching the actual conditions of energy consumption and drawing a basis data, we can apply this as a way of saving energy, rationalization of the scale of energy supply facilities and a standard when planning facilities. To grasp the present condition of energy usage of the urban rental apartment, this research analysed the use of electricity, gas and water monthly and annually of a rental apartment that is located in Daegu. The results showed that in 2003 the electricity usage was 1,198MWh but 1,315MWh in 2007, which means 9% of electricity usage increases every year. The average of water usage was $85,072\;m^2$ per year and typical energy consumption unit was $604.2\;MJ/m^2$ on $74.4\;m^2$ of area and $448.8\;MJ/m^2$ on $105.8\;M^2$. By showing the usage of energy and water of the urban rental apartment, understanding the tendency and preparing an typical energy consumption unit standard through this research, apartments should use energy more efficiently.

Ad-Hoc 네트워크에서 위치와 에너지를 고려한 지오캐스팅 알고리즘 (Geographic and Energy Aware Geocasting in Ad-Hoc Networks)

  • 지오캐스팅(geocasting)이란 멀티캐스팅의 특별한 한 종류로서, 어떤 특정한 지역(지오캐스트 영역이라 함)에 있는 모든 노드들에게 데이터를 전송하는 통신형태를 말하며, location-based multicasting(LBM) 이라고 부르기도 한다(1). Ad-hoc 네트워크는 중앙 집중화된 관리나 표준화된 지원 서비스 없이 배터리를 에너지원으로 사용하는 휴대용 기기들이 동적으로 연결되어 구성되는 임시적인 망이다. 따라서, 제한된 에너지 자원을 효율적으로 관리하는 것은 네트워크 활동시간(lifetime)을 최대화하기 위한 중요한 문제가 된다. 본 논문에서는 Ad-hoc 네트워크 환경에서 라우팅 설정시 에너지 값을 고려하여 중간 노드를 선택하는 LBPA(Location-Based Power Aware) 지오캐스팅 알고리즘을 제안한다. 전송 에너지를 균형있게 소비하여 각 이동 호스트의 잔여 에너지의 비율을 일정하게 유지시키는 방법으로 네트워크 활동시간 측면에서 볼 때 기존의 LBM 알고리즘보다 평균적으로 49%, 더 좋은 결과를 실험을 통하여 보여주었다.
