The problem lies in 'Sasang Constitution Medicine' is a subjectiveness of diagnosis that the result of diagnosis varies according to the doctors. In order to supplement to this demerit, multiple approach has done to diagnose objectively. This study has focused on evaluating the effectiveness and accuracy of the questionnaire which considered as a basic data to identify constitution By analysing the tendency of the respondents who has defined constitution by clinical diagnosis and comparing of their answers, the result of their constitution analysis by our questionnaire were re-examined. The answer of each question to each constitution were tested how it is relevant to a scale of a constitution. As a result, we have found that there is limitation to find out constitution by the questionnaire we used, one we hope that suitable questionnaire will be developed for the research in the future

Proceeding an objective Study of sasang constitution diagnosis by Sound Analysis which uses Computed Sound lab(CSL), we verified the confidence level of Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution classification II(QSCC II) and the first results of Sound Analysis for verifying correlation between the physical character and Sound character are as follows. 1. The confidence level of QSCC II is 70.8% to Soeumin, 60.8% to Soyangin, 74.5% to Taeumin, and 70.08% in total. But, the actual results of verifying the confidence level after making 100 persons an object of study, are that the confidence level of that is 55.10% to Soeumin, 30.77% to Soyangin, 80.00% to Taeumin, and 55.29% in total. So it doesn't coincide with the confidence lecel of QSCC II 70.8%. 2. The results of verifying the confidence level about other 134 persons after enough explanation before the constitutional diagnosis by QSCC II are that the confidence of that is 71.08 to Soeumin, 54.76% to Soyangin 81.82% to Taeumin, and 69.22% in total. 3. The results of verifying the correlation between B.M.I. and Sasang Costitution are that there are significant differences below P<0.001 between Taeumin and Soeumin, and between Taeumin and Soyangin. 4. Height and Weight influence on a fundamental frequency and formant frequency. 5. There are differences for every constitutions in a amplitude when we nave a Sound analysis. As aboves, it is considered that we can find the differences among the constitutional groups, if we have a Sound analysis of the constitutional Sound characters.

The purpose of this study is to examine validity to Soeum scales by QSCC II. For this study, the objects are 336 patients who were made a diagnosis of Soeumin and 422 patients of other constitutions in Oriental Medicine & Western Medicine Cooperative Health Examination Center KyungHee University Medical Center. A systematic analysis has been made and the results are as follows. 1. We made a frequency analysis in 758 examinees' questions and concluded that 35 questions, among which 30 questions were existing and 5 were new, had statistical significance in making a diagnosis of Soeumin by more than 10% in comparison with answer frequency of other constitutions. 2. Because confidence coefficient of 0.8011 revised Soeum scales(35) rises up as compared with that of 0.6319 existing Soeum scales(51), I think revised Soeum scales reflect trait of Soeumin well and it is liable to shorten question time by controling questions. 3. Soeumin's discrimination probability in Soeumin was 55.4% by QSCCII, but that rises up to 64.3% by discriminant function made by revised Soeum scales. So there is statistical significance in discriminant function. 4. When questions in QSCCII are divided into body-spirit(體形氣像), looks-attitude(容貌詞氣), temper- talent(性質才幹), continuous mind(恒心), avarice(心慾), physiological symptoms(生理的 證) and pathological symptoms(病理的 證), response frequency and constitution discrimination probability falls in questions about avarice and pathological symptoms.

1. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Yangkyuksanhwa-tang which is based on sasang constitutional medicine for dermatitis as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis. 2. Methods: This two patients were treated by Soyangin's constitutional medications according to the result of sasang constitutional diagnosis. We evaluated the severity in dermatitis that two methods ; doctor's view and patient's subjective itching. 3. Results & Conclusoins: This cases study shows an efficent result of using Yangkyuksanhwa-tang in treatment of dermatitis as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis.

1. Objectives This study is about a Soeumin Atopic Dermatitis Patient. In this study, we report the effects of Sasang constitutional treatment to this patient. 2. Methods This patient was treated by Soeumin's constitutional medications and acupunture according to the result of Sasang constitutional diagnosis. 3. Results and Conclusions This patient's chief complaints were edema, palule, erythema, squama and pruritus. By using Gwakhyangjeonggi-san, she showed positive response about her symptom. This study shows that Gwakhyangjeonggi-san has effect to Atopic Dermatitis in Soeumin.

1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Sasang Constitutional medical diagnosis and treatment on Soyangin Edema caused by Deep Vein Thrombosis. 2. Methods The Subject is a 75 years old woman who has a left lower limb edema caused by Deep Vein Thrombosis, we had diagnosed her as Soyangin and prescribed Sasang Constitutional Medicine. We evaluated with length of patient's calf, thigh, ankle circumference and pitting edema, skin flare after medication. 3. Results Lower limb edma of a Soyangin patient responded well to the treatment with Dojeokganggi-tang(導赤降氣湯). 4. Conclusions This case study shows an efficient result by using Dojeokganggi-tang in treatment of Soyangin edema patient.

1. Objectives As we advance to senior society the incidence rate of heart disease such as atrial fibrillation grows higher. These heart disease can also be treated by Sasang constitutional medical diagnosis and treatment. 2. Methods There is one case-report of the patient who has severe atrial fibrillation and was treated with Sasang constitutional medicine and Westen medicine as well. 3. Results The patient had shown remarkable clinical effects, especially when Sasang Constitutional Medical treatment was practiced. 4. Conclusions Thus we report the healing process and result of this atrial fibrillation.

1. Objectives Hoarseness is most common symptoms of URI. Acute laryngitis, chronic laryngitis, vocal nodules, laryngeal cancer can be the cause of hoarseness, but laryngitis is most common cause. this hoarseness is called as 'Um-a' in Korean medicine and other disease, 'Um-a' can be treated by Sasang constitutional medical diagnosis and treatment. 2. Methods There is two case-reports of the patients who were hoarse and they were treated with Sasang constitutional medicine, Samgyepalmul-tang. 3. Results The patients had shown remarkable clinical effects, when Sasang constitutional medical treatment was practiced. 4. Conclusions Thus we report the healing process and result of this two hoarse patients.

Objectives This case is about a Soyangin cerebellar atrophy patient. In this study, we report the effect of Sasang Constitutional treatment to this patient. Methods This patient was treated by Soyangin's constitutional medications and acupuncture according to the result of Sasang Constitutional diagnosis. We used Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Equilibrium Function Test. Results and Conclusions This patient's chief complaints were dizziness. By using Hyeungbangjihwang-tang, she showed positive response about her symptom. This study shows that Hyeungbangjihwang-tang has effect to cerebellar atrophy in Soyangin.

1. Objective This study is aimed to present the effective classification of Soeumin symptomatology and the standardized signs for classification which can be applied for KCD, ICD and the insurance codification system. 2. Methods 1) Differentiate Soeumin symptomatology based on exterior-interior patterns, favorable-unfavorable patterns, and mild-severe-dangerous-urgent patterns. 2) Investigate the standard signs and symptoms to claasify Soeumin symptomatology based on exterior-interior patterns, favorable-unfavorable patterns, and mild-severe-dangerous-urgent patterns. 3. Results and Conclusions 1) The diagnosis criteria for Soeumin exterior-interior disease is based upon signs & symptoms of cold/heat, condition of stool, state of digestive system(such as digestion and appetite)among others. 2) The diagnosis criteria for Soeumin favorable-unfavorable disease is generally based upon whether the vital force of the spleen is damaged or not. More specifically, for the exterior disease, whether or not sweating is present. For the interior disease, whether or not dry mouth, body ache(a main symptom of the exterior state), and anxiousness are present. 3) For the Soeumin Wool-gwang disease, the diagnosis criteria of mild-severe disease is whether or not chills is present and the degree of body fever. 4) For Soeumin Mang-yang disease, the diagnosis criteria of dangerous-urgent disease is whether or not chills is, the degree of sweating and urine condition. 5) For the Soeumin Greater-Yin disease, Abdominal-pain bowel irritability pattern and Epigastric discomfort pattern are early state signs, Jaundice pattern is mild-state sign, edema & Greater-Yang disease Yin-toxin pattern are terminal state signs. 6) For the Soeumin interior disease, Abdominal-pain bowel irritability pattern and Epigastric discomfort pattern are of the dangerous state pattern, Jang-gual and Exuberant-Yin-repelling-Yang pattern are of the urgent state patterns.
