In this study, We investigated the properites of nano-emulsions containing hydrogenated lecithin prepared by high pressure homogenizer. The size of droplet of emulsions prepared by homogenizer at various rpm (rotation per minute) was not measured due to the unstability of emulsions, however, the size of droplet of nano-emulsions prepared by high pressure homogenizer was around 300 nm and the appearance of emulsions was bluish. The stability of emulsions with various lecithin concentration was tested against time. POV (Peroxide value) of emulsions were plotted against time. POVs of emulsions prepared with an egg lecithin and a soy lecithin were increased with time, however, POV of emulsion with Lecinol S-$10^{(R)}$ was kept constant within 60 hours and at $60^{\circ}C$. In consumer test, the nano-emulsion showed higher affinity regardless of skin type. Both of irritation scores of emulsions were similar.
An experimental study was carried out to investigate the emission characteristics of LP gas burner for the Practical combustion conditions including fm voltage, inlet area, gas Pressure, emission resistance, duct length and height. The result shows that CO is almost remains constant for the emission fan voltage, but significantly increases with the reduction rate of air inlet, up to 3000ppm at 50% of reduction rate. Also, the variation of gas pressure has no effect to CO of gas boiler due to its governor which controls gas pressure secondly, but it gives an rapid increase of CO for the gas range. The emission resistance test shows that CO is suddenly increased with the reduction rate of emission duct above 70% and main burner is stopped at 90%. The reverse wind test shows that CO is suddenly increased with the air velocity above 7m/s and main burner is stopped at 9m/s. The more horizontal length of emission duct is long and the vertical height is low, CO is infinitesimally increased.

This paper proposes strain-based failure model of A533B1 pressure vessel steel to simulate failure, followed by application to OECD lower head failure (OLHF) test simulation for experimental validation. The proposed strain-based failure model uses simple constant and linear functions based on physical failure modes with the critical strain value determined either using the lower bound of true fracture strain or using the average value of total elongation depending on the temperature. Application to OECD Lower Head Failure (OLHF) tests shows that progressive deformation, failure time and failure location can be well predicted.

The effects of design parameters of supersonic ejector system under the assumption of constant pressure mixing; such as mass flow rate ratio, area ratio, Primary mach number on ejector system performance were investigated by theoretical formulations. And for a given design condition and working fluid, Computational Fluid Dynamics was conducted.
Cavity expansion and contraction solutions for cylindrical and spherical cavities in unsaturated residual soils are presented in this paper. Varying soil state in the plastic zone is accounted by a numerical approach, wherein an element-by-element discretization of the plastic zone of both expanding and contracting cavities is carried out. Unlike existing methods utilizing self-similarity technique, the solution procedure enables the prediction of entire soil-state at any stage of expansion and subsequent contraction. It is also applicable for both cavity creation and expansion problems. The approach adopts constant contribution of suction to effective stress (constant Xs drainage condition) for analysis. The analysis procedure is validated by interpreting the previously reported pressuremeter test results in lateritic residual soil. The typical cavity expansion and contraction characteristics of unsaturated Indian lateritic soil were then examined using this solution procedure. The effect of initial soil-state on cavity limit pressure, plastic radius, reverse yield pressure, and reverse plastic radius are also presented.
In this study pressure and shaft torque pulsation were measured with variation of head and flow during the model test for a 15 MW Francis Turbine. Pressure pulsations were measured at the inlet of the spiral casing and 4 points in the cone of the diffuser and shaft torque pulsation at the upper position of the turbine. The maximum amplitude of pressure pulsation appeared 2.03% of the maximum rated head with the frequency of 25% of the rated revolution and at the guide vane opening of $10^{\circ}$. Shaft torque pulsation appeared 0.01% of the rated shaft torque, fairly low value. Air was admitted through the cone and pressure pulsation gradually decreased with increase of air flow and kept nearly constant after 5% of the rated flow. A new Francis turbine of which specific speed is 115 m-kW had been designed to rehabilitate the old one and the model test was performed at EPFL. The commercial code, STAR-$CCM^+$ was used for numerical simulation of flow.

Primary water stress corrosion cracking of steam generator tubings occur on many tubes in pressurized water reactors(PWRs), and they are repaired using sleeves or plugs. In order to develop proper repair criteria, it is necessary to know the leak behavior of the tubes, which have stress corrosion cracks. Crack development tests were carried out on the tubes at room temperature, and leak rate and burst pressure were measured on the degraded tubes at room temperature and a high temperature. No leakage was detected on the tubes where 100 % through wall crack developed, at 1560 psi, which is an operating pressure difference of pressurized water reactors(PWRs). In some tests, leak rates of the tubes increased with time at a constant internal water pressure. A test tube showed a very small amount of leakage at 2700 psi in a high temperature pressure test at $282^{\circ}C$, but it disappeared after the pressure increased slightly. Even cracks are 100 % through wall, they need to open in order to reach a certain amount of leak rate at the operating pressure difference.

A parametric study was conducted on pressure drop in a catalytic converter for automobile. In this work, we proposed a new pressure drop relation which contains the various parameters needed to calculate and got a few results. In a monolith of catalyst, the flow originally turbulent flow changes to laminar flow and thus the pressure drop through the monolith is linearly proportional to the velocity. The exhaust pressure is doubly affected by the increase of mean velocity and length when we decrease the diameter of monolith while the volume keeps constant. Theoretical parameters such as $\alpha$ and $\beta$ are suggested to use as a reference value when there is no a experimental data. Especially in the part load test, these values should be modified to consider the property change of exhaust gas.

Solenoid-folw control type ABS is used with a 'dump and reapply' pressure control arrangement instead of using 2/2 (normal open/close) solenoid valves in convensional systems(sol. -sol. control type), a flow control valve is used which replaces the (no) inlet valve. The flow control valve controls fluid flow providing a nearly constant reapply rate( .theta. ) after the dump plase of ABS operation. In this study, to investigate a characteristics of brake pressure by PWM control, test rig was consisted of ABS hydraulic modulator, digital controller, pneumatic power supply and brake master cylinder. For comparison with experi- mental results, system modelling and computer simulation were performed. As a result, experiment results showed fairly agreement with the simulation. Also, it is shown that the pressure gradient (tan .theta. ) is affected by pressure, frequency, duty ratio and expressed with an exponential funtion.

There exist many kinds of frictions in internal combustion engine such as piston ring and skirt, cam and tappet, bearing friction etc. Among them, the frictions between piston ring, skirt and cylinder are particular. These frictions for motoring test are differ from that of firing test even though the temperature of cooling water and lubricating oil keep identically. The frictions for firing test are increased due to combustion pressure and products. The precise calculation of the friction is difficult. But we can assume that the friction is governed by the viscosity of lubricating oil and gas pressure of cylinder. And the viscosity of lubricating oil is dependant on gas temperature of cylinder, so the piston friction may be governed by gas pressure and temperature of cylinder. In this treatise, we propose the method of evaluating piston friction under the condition of constant engine speed, and we analyzed the behaviours and influence of factors concerned with the piston friction for output correction when the inlet pressure and temperature were varied. The main results are as follows: 1) The behaviours on the inlet conditions for the contact force of the piston rings and the viscosity of the lubricating oil concerned with piston friction are found. 2) The essential point the these behaviours is dependant on the cyclic variation following to the inlet conditions. 3) According to our analysis, It was observed that the viscosity of lubricating oil is more effective than the contact force to the piston rings.
