This is the study on users' perception gap about the effects of leisure space development of the Han River Citizen Park according to leisure constraints and was to identify leisure constraints expressed when using Han River Citizen Park and identify perception on positive and negative impacts according to use behavior characteristics of Han River Citizen Park and leisure space development. In order to compare and analyze the perception gap about the leisure space development of Han River Citizen Park users according to leisure constraints, we classified information and resources, economic affordability, free time on leisure activities in Han River Citizen Park into high influence group and low influence group and did an in-depth analysis. The results are as follows. First, Han River Citizen Park has the nature of neighborhood use with little influence on leisure constraints such as jogging and marathon, biking etc. including walking and relaxation and was a place to visit for simple exercises. Second, in the effects according to leisure space development of Han River Citizen Park, affordable leisure activity costs and ease of access were evaluated the most highly and congestion due to increasing users, increase in administrative operating budget and management personnel were concerned the most. Third, the leisure constraints in Han River Citizen Park were affected in the order of free time, economic affordability, information and resources. There were also perception gaps in congestion due to an increase in administrative operating budget and management personnel, increase in users including improvement of various leisure opportunities and leisure levels, encouragement of pride and attachment for Han river, affordable leisure activity costs depending on the degree of the influence of leisure constraints. Therefore, this study can be said to have the meaning in that we could identify leisure constraints affecting Han River Citizen Park users and resulting perception in leisure space development and revealed that the degree of the influence of leisure constraints varies in the use behavior of leisure space development of Han River Citizen Park and perception of positive and negative development impact. In addition, in order to resolve leisure complaints according to leisure constraints, we studied the need of accompaniment of leisure space operation and management system, development of various customized programs, introduction of recreational space and facilities prioritizing public interest rather than private interest with public relations and information delivery about leisure space of Han River Citizen Park.
Disodium disulphite, the HPV chemical, was assigned to Korea in order to implement OECD SIDS program in 1999. It was produced about 3,200 ton/year in 1998. This report evaluates the toxic potency of disodium disulphite based on the environmental and mammalian effects as well as human exposure. Oral $LD_{50}$ in rats is 1,540 mg/kg b.w. and effects was observed to the stomach, liver and the GI track that was filled with blood. For repeated dose toxicity, the predominant effect was the induction of stomach lesion due to local irritation. The no observed adverse effect lever for local (stomach irritation) was about 217 mg/kg bw/day. There is no evidence that disodium disulphite is genotoxic in vivo. No reproductive or developmental toxicty of disodium disulphite was observed for the period up to 2 yr and over three generation. In humans, urticaria and asthma with itching, edema, rhinitis, and nasal congestion were reported. Disodium disulphite is unlikely to induce respiratory sensitization but may enhance symptom of asthma in sensitive individuals. This chemical would be mainly transported to water compartment when released to environmental compartments since it is highly water soluble (470 g/l at 20). Low K oc (2.447) indicates disodium disulphite is so mobile in soil that it may not stay in the terrestrial compartment. The chemical has been tested in a limited number of aquatic species. hem acute toxicity test to fish, 96 hr-$LC_{50}$ was > 100 mg/1. For algae, 72 hr-$XC_{50}$ was 48.1 mg/1. For daphnid, the acute toxicity value of 48 hr-$EC_{50}$ was 88.76 mg/1, and chronic value of 21day-NOEC was > 10 mg/1. Therefore, PNEC of 0.1 mg/l for the aquatic organism was obtained from the chronic value of daphnid using the assessment factor of 100. Based on these data the disodium disulphite was recommended as low priority for further post-SIDS work in OECD.
In RC structure, sufficient anchorage of reinforcement is necessary for the member to produce the full strength. Generally, conventional standard hook is used for the reinforcement's anchorage. However, the use of standard hook results in steel congestion, making fabrication and construction difficult. Mechanical anchor offers a potential solution to these problems and may also ease fabrication, construction and concrete placement. In this paper, the required characteristics and the design considerations of mechanical anchor were studied. Also, the mechanical anchor was designed according to the requirements. To investigate the pull-out behavior and properness of mechanical anchorage, pull-out tests were performed. The parameters of tests were embedment length, diameter of reinforcement, concrete compressive strength, and spacing of reinforcements. The strengths of mechanical anchor were consistent with the predictions by CCD method. The slip between mechanical anchor and concrete could be controlled under 0.2mm. Therefore, the mechanical anchor with adequate embedment could be used for reinforcement's anchorage. However, it was observed that the strength of mechanical anchors with short spacing of reinforcements was greatly reduced. To apply the mechanical anchor in practice (e.g. anchorage of the beams reinforcements in beam-column joint), other effects that affect the mechanical anchor mechanism, such as confinement effect of adjacent member from frame action or effects of shear reinforcement, should be considered.
Using driving simulation, this study investigated the effects of driver's trust in the adaptive cruise control (ACC) system and road density on driver's workload and situation awareness. The drivers were allocated into one of four experimental conditions manipulated by ACC system trust level (trust-increased vs. trust-decreased) and road congestion (high vs. low). The workload and situational awareness of the participants were measured as dependent variables. The results showed followings. First, trust-decreased group for the ACC system had significantly lower trust scores for the system in all of the measurement items, including reducing the driving load and securing safe driving due to the use of this system, than the trust-increased group. Second, the trust-decreased group showed a slower reaction time in the secondary tasks and higher subjective workload than trust-increased group. Third, in contrast, the situational awareness for the driving situation was significantly higher in the trust-decreased group than trust-increased group. The results of this study showed that the driver's trust in the ACC system can affect the various information processing performed while driving. Also, these results suggest that trust in the user's system should be considered as an important variable in the design of an automated driving assistance system.
This experiment was designed to evaluate the effects of the processing method of common vetch seed (CVS) (Vicia sativa) on laying performance, egg quality, metabolic parameters and liver histopatology during the peak production period in hens. Lohman layers, 46 wk of age in 6 replicate cages each containing 4 hens, were allocated randomly to one of four dietary treatments. Diets were control (C) diet containing no common vetch and experimental diets containing 25% raw common vetch (RCV), 25% soaked in water for 72 h with exchange of water every 24 h (SCV) and 25% soaked&boiled at $100^{\circ}C$ for 30 minute common vetch (SBCV). Inclusion of RCV into the diet deteriorated all laying performance variables. SCV did not alleviate the adverse effect of raw common vetch on feed intake, egg weight, feed conversion, final weight and weight change. SCV partially alleviated egg production (p<0.001). SBCV diminished the adverse effect on feed intake, egg weight, feed conversion, final weight and weight change compared to raw vicia sativa (p<0.001). No significant difference was detected between SBCV and the control group in terms of egg production, feed conversion, final weight and weight change. Regardless of the processing method, all the common vetch groups had lower shell strength compared to the control group. Haugh units did differ between all groups (p<0.001). Inclusion of RCV and SCV into the basal diet decreased triglyceride, cholesterol, total protein and serum glucose concentrations (p<0.001). Hovewer, inclusion of SBCV into the basal diet increased these parameters. Liver samples were stained with Hematoxylin and eosin (HE) and evaluated by light microscopy. A biopsy of native liver tissue was used as a control. No histopathologic finding was present in the control group. Raw V. sativa compared with the control caused lipid accumulations in hepatocytes, severe congestion of hepatic blood vessels, inflammation, increased numbers of Kupffer cells and sinusoidal dilatations. Whereas, the livers from groups given treated V. sativa showed only different degrees of sinusoidal dilatations. Findings from the present study point out the risk of increased hepatic damage due to use of raw Vicia sativa. Increasing treatment of V. sativa lead to a decrease of liver damages. Inclusion of raw and soaked vetch seeds in rations affected adversely all parameters examined in laying hens. But alleviation was observed when soaked and boiled vetch seeds (SBCV) were fed. The results of these experiments indicated that soaked&boiled Vicia sativa seeds may safely be used at a 25% level in rations of laying hens.
By securing golden time, this study analyzed the effects of an emergency vehicle priority system in Cheongju, North Chungcheong province. Until the scene of a fire is reached, severe obstacles in the street, such as traffic congestion, cars coming forward, non-cooperative vehicles etc., are significant. To solve these problems of road obstacles, it is essential to adopt an emergency vehicle priority system. From April 2017 to June 2018 (1 year and 2 months, 426 days), the dispatch time and date, fire truck moving distance and required time, traffic signal control section and pass time, and shortening time, were measured. This study selected 140 cases consisting of five heavy traffic and frequent dispatch routes out of 293 cases. The effects of the emergency vehicle priority system were excellent. Overall, it took 3 min 3 s to pass 1 km on an uncontrolled traffic signal section. On the other hand, it took 1 min 23 s to pass 1 km on the same section that was controlled. The shortening time to pass 1 km was 1 min 40 s, showing a 45.4% reduction. This means that the 15 min driving time can be reduced to 6 min and 49 s. From this result, an emergency vehicle priority system should be implemented nationwide as soon as possible.
Pedestrian performance measurement has generally used the average values of pedestrian volumes and speeds from a sample, although each individual's pedestrian behavior of the sample is mainly affected by his/her socio-economic and physical characteristics. In particular, if such individual characteristics of the sample have wide variations, the average values are hard to be representative. In this respect, this study found that a platoon of pedestrians had a major effect on their pedestrian flows on sidewalks. The more platoons was mixed on pedestrian roads, the lower pedestrian flow rate was. The indexes such as a pedestrian flow rate and an occupancy space are typically calculated by pedestrian volumes in a given period of time regardless of the existence of a platoon. However, it is plausible that a pedestrian speed and a level of pedestrian congestion can be different under the equal amount of pedestrian volumes. Therefore, this study suggested criteria for determining level of service for pedestrian considering platoon effects and confirmed that two places had different pedestrian LOSs because of the platoon effects, even if they showed the same pedestrian flow rate.
The genus Taraxacum, known by the common name Dandelion, is a medicinal herb in the family Asteraceae. It has been traditionally used as a folk medicine for the treatment or prevention of various diseases due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties. In this study, we attempted to evaluate protective effects of Dandelion related with anti-oxidative activity to Thioacetamide (TAA)-induced liver damage. 36 rats were randomly assigned to six experimental groups : Control, Dandelion water extract (DWE), TAA, TAA&DWE 300, TAA&DWE 600, TAA&DWE 1,200 groups. Rats in DWE and TAA&DWE groups were pretreated with DWE (300, 600 or 1,200 mg/kg BW) by gavage for 7 days. All rats were treated intraperitoneally with TAA (200 mg/kg BW) or normal saline at 12 hours after last oral administration and sacrificed at 12 hours after last treatment. Levels of WBC and Neutrophil count were significantly decresed in TAA&DWE 1,200 group compared with that in TAA group (P<0.05). In TAA&DWE 600 and TAA&DWE 1,200 groups, serum AST, ALT, GGT levels were lower than TAA group (P<0.05). The serum TG level was significantly elevated in TAA&DWE groups compared with those in TAA group. Liver tissues from TAA group showed extensive histopathological changes, characterized by moderate or severe hepatocytes degeneration, inflammatory cell infiltration, and congestion. In the TAA&DWE group, The severity of histopathological lesions were decreased compared to those in the TAA group. The MDA concentration was significantly decreased and GSH content was significantly increased in the TAA&DWE 1,200 group compared to those in the TAA group. GR, CAT and GST activities in the TAA&DWE 1,200 group were significantly increased compared to those in the TAA group.

The nuclear structures are composed of large diameter bars over No.36. If the hooked bars are used for anchorage of large diameter bars, too long length of the tail extension of the hook plus bend create congestion and make an element difficult to construct. To address those problems, headed bars were developed. Provisions of ACI 318-08 specify the development length of headed bars and ignore the effect of transverse reinforcement based on the background researches. However, if headed bars are used at the cut-off or lap splice, longitudinal reinforcements, which are deformed in flexural members, induce tensile stress in cover concrete and increase the tensile force in the transverse reinforcement. The object of this research is to evaluate the effects of transverse reinforcement on the anchorage capacity of headed bar so anchorage test with variable of transverse rebar spacing was conducted. Specimens, which can consider the behavior at the cut-off, were tested. Test results show that failure of specimen without transverse reinforcement was sudden and brittle with concrete cover lifted and developed stress of headed bars was less than half of yield strength of headed bars. On the other hand, in the specimen with transverse reinforcement, transverse rebar directly resist the load of free-end so capacity of specimens highly increased.
Objective: The roots, leaves, flowers, stems and seeds of Cirsium japonicum var. ussuriense are often used in treatment of human diseases such as hemorrhage, blood congestion and inflammation. Focusing our attention on natural and bioavailable sources of antioxidants and anti-inflammation, we undertook to investigate the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of Cirsium japonicum var. ussuriense used as a folk medicine in Korea. Methods: The extracts of the leaves, stems, flowers, seeds and roots from C. japonicum var. ussuriense were prepared by extracting with water or 80% ethanol. Total flavonoids and polyphenols were measured by a colorimetric assay. The free radical scavenging activity of the extract was analyzed by the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl), ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) and Griess reagent assay. An oxidative product of nitric oxide (NO), was measured in the culture medium by the Griess reaction. The level of prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The expressions of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) were measured by Western blot analysis. Results: Total flavonoid and polyphenol amounts of the leaves (CLE) and flowers (CFE) showed higher than those of the seed extract (CSE), stem extract (CSTE) and roots (CRE). CLE and CFE also showed the high antioxidant activities such as DPPH, NO-like and ABTS radical scavenging activity. An antioxidant activities of these water extracts showed higher than those of 80% ethanol extracts. We investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of CLE on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. CLE significantly suppressed the levels of the inflammatory mediators such as NO and prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) in dose dependant. Furthermore, the levels of iNOS and COX-2 protein expressions were markedly suppressed by the treatment with CLE extract in a dose dependent manner. Conclusions: These results suggest that CLE water extract has a higher anoxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, these properties may contribute to the oxidative and inflammatory related disease care.
