  • A group G is said to satisfy the maximal condition on infinite normal subgroups if there does not exist an infinite properly ascending chain of infinite normal subgroups. We characterize the structure of locally nilpotent groups satisfying this chain condition. We then show how to construct locally nilpotent groups with the maximal condition on infinite normal subgroups, but not the maximal condition on subgroups.

  • In recent years, mould industry in machining requires to increase machining productivity and to reduce costs, To adapt this trend it is necessary to optimize machine condition, Even though many researches in this area introduced various way to set the optimal condition, still there are not enough. Therefore this research was done to select the optimal cutting condition for industry, and to develop the computer program to select the optimal cutting condition automatically. The result of this research will contribute to increase machining productivity of various mould companies with the automatic selection of optimal cutting condition.

  • In this paper, a simple method of angle velocity estimation is presented for a passive dynamic biped robot. The estimation problem is not an easy task because its dynamic model is a hybrid system involved with an impact condition. Instead of designing a complex observer for hybrid systems we simply utilize the impact condition to reset the initial condition of the high-pass filter when the non-support leg hits the slope. The approach has been verified by simulation results.

  • In this study, concrete what plenty of fly ash used as binder is left in three condition humid condition($35^{\circ}C$), normal condition($20^{\circ}C$) and cold condition($5^{\circ}C$). Fly ash concrete is tested in fresh properties and early strength. The result of tests could give the decisive factor of form side's stripping time. The purpose of this study is presenting the stripping time data to help the construction work. The result of this study is below. 1. The plain concrete specimen in humid condition developed high strength before 5 days, then strength development is declined. 10 day strength of plain specimen is smaller than the normal condition specimen's. 2. The strength of the concrete which plenty of fly ash used is more developed than the concrete in normal condition. It says that fly ash concrete is useful in the humid condition. 3. As fly ash substitution rate is downsizing and outdoor temperature degree is low, form stripping times is getting shorter.

  • To solve the 3D eddy current problems by using FE(finite element) method with MVP(magnetic vector potential) and electric scalar potential, Coulomb gauge condition and current continuity condition have to be considered. Coulomb gauge condition enforced on existing FE formulations to insure the uniqueness of MVP looks unnatural and current continuity condition which can be driven from Ampere's law looks unnecessary. So in this paper the effect of two conditions on FE formulations are investigated in order to help to obtain accurate numerical simulation results.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of interview techniques on memory accuracy and suggestibility of preschool children. Forty-five preschool children participated in a magic show(target event) and 1 week later, all children received suggestive interview in two conditions(language condition & drawing condition). Another 1 week later, all children's recall contents of the magic show was assessed. During suggestive interview, children in drawing condition show more 'acception' response than children in language condition, and children in the question condition show less 'remember' response than children in drawing condition. In second interview children reported more words, and specially ones in language condition report more suggested words than ones in drawing condition. Finally, children's recalls were more accurate on controled informations of the event than on suggestive.

  • We have shown how unstructured modeling was used to derive a general stability condition in Part 1. In Part 2, we focus on the particular dynamics (structures modeling) of the robot manipulator and environment. Using rigid body dynamics, the stability condition for the direct drive robots has been achieved in terms of the Jacobian and robot tracking controller. Combining the structured and unstructured modeling, a stability condition for a particular application can be obtained. This approach has been used to analyze compliant motion on the University of Minnesota robot using a feedforward torque controller. We have obtained a stability condition for this application. Through both simulation and experiment, the sufficiency of this condition has been demonstrated. For a sufficient stability condition, recall that if the condition is satisfied, then the stability is guaranteed; however, if the condition is violated, no conclusion can be made.

  • The slip velocity and the temperature jumps for low-speed flow in microchannels are investigated using Langmuir slip boundary condition. This slip boundary condition is suggested to simulate micro flow. The current study analyzes Langmuir slip boundary condition theoretically and it analyzed numerically micro-Couette flow, micro-Poiseuille flow and grooved microchannel flow. First, to prove validity for Langmuir slip condition, an analytical solution for micro-Couette flow is derived from Navier-Stokes equations with Langmuir slip conditions and is compared with DSMC and an analytical solution with Maxwell slip boundary condition. Second, the numerical analysis is performed for micro-Poiseuille flow and grooved microchannel flow. The slip velocity and temperature distribution are compared with results of DSMC or Maxwell slip condition and those are shown in good agreement.

  • This paper examines a condition that licenses distributivity. Choe (1987) and Link (1998) have proposed an indefiniteness condition on distributivity. However, detecting counter-examples, Zimmermann (2002) has argued for a non-specificity condition. This paper primarily revises the indefiniteness/non-specificity condition. Observing that the systematic class of the exceptions belongs to weak definites proposed by Poesio (1994), I claim that the property that constrains distributivity is non-strong-definiteness. Based on Landman (2000), I further explain the non-strong-definiteness condition and argue that the condition does not need to be imposed on the grammar independently. The new condition naturally accounts for Spector's (2003) scopal asymmetry. Even more, defining donkey pronouns as weak definites, I cope with various properties of donkey sentences.

  • There are many factors that affect speech intelligibility and speech acceptability. Structural anomalies and neuromotor pathologies are known for the reasons of abnormal speech sounds. And there are minor variations related to oral mechanism. Speaking with restricted mouth opening related to therapeutic procedure or habitual speech pattern might affect the quality of speech sounds. So this study compared speech intelligibility and speech acceptability of recorded 24 words in two conditions (restricted mouth opening condition and normal mouth opening condition) by 30 normal hearing adults. The results showed that speech intelligibility and speech acceptability were significantly lower in restricted mouth opening condition. And speech acceptability was significantly lower than speech intelligibility in restricted mouth opening condition. Speech acceptability in restricted mouth opening condition was significantly lower especially in open vowel. These findings indicated that the mouth opening condition could affect vowel shape and could be an adverse effect on speech intelligibility and speech acceptability.
