  • 동시공학(Concurrent Engineering)은 80년대 초부터 효과적으로 사용되어 왔지만 널리 사용되지는 못했다. 동시공학의 효과는 비용절감, 시장조사시간의 단축, 품질의 개선 등 다양하게 표현 될 수 있다. 웹기반의 네트워크가 구성되면서 동시공학의 장점을 더욱 개선되었다고 할 수 있다. 여러 장소에서 시간에 관계없이 동시에 접근할 수 있기 때문이다. 웹 기반의 시스템에서 많은 기업들이 동시공학의 방법을 사용함으로서 이점을 발견할 수 있다. 본 논문은 실제 미국의 건축회사를 사례로 동시공학의 장점을 살펴보았다.

  • Concurrent Engineering is one of the information-based product development approach. Yet, the method of organizing the project team for the concurrent engineering is not clear. This study focuses on deriving a method to organize an information-based project team. The model consists of 4 layers : IT infrastructure, organization of the information-based project team, operation of the project team, an organization culture. Based on an analysis of new product development case, this study attempts to verify the model and to suggest more effective way of organization design and management for new product development.

  • 전문가시스템이 등장한지도 근 20년이 흘렀고 다양한 분야에서 기업의 중추적 시스템으로 운영되고 있다. 이렇게 전문가시스템이 연구단계에서 벗어나 실용화됨에 따라 전문가시스템의 개발방법에 대한 연구가 학계가 산업계가 새로운 연구과제로 인식되고 있다. 지금까지 개발에 대한 연구는 주로 지식획득 기술의 개발에 치중되어있다. 본 논문에서는 전문가시스템의 개발에 대한 방법론적 접근방법이 제시된다. 이 접근벙법은 시간과 인력 등 자원의 제약을 받는 전문가시스템 개발프로젝트에 적합한 것으로 동시공학(Concurrent Engineering)개념을 채택하고 있으며 개발 라이프사이클 모델, 프로젝트팀 구성방법등을 다루고 있다. 또한, 동시공학적 접근방법을 지원하기 위한 분석과 설계방법으로는 객체지향기술을 사용하며 개발단계별로 해당 모델이 산출물로 구축된다.

  • This paper deals with manufacturing process design of a simplified gun tube applying CE principle. A concept and characteristics of CE, mathematical model for understanding interaction between design and manufacturing, basic elements and related equations for process planning and cost estimating are introduced. A Knowledge-based Computer-Aided Process Planning System(KCAPPS) is constructed, yielding optimal production cost/time for the shape input and selection of appropriate machines and tools.

  • In this paper considered is the provisioning quantity determination problem of consumable concurrent spare parts (CSP) of a new equipment system to minimize the procurement cost under the operational availability constraint. When a part fails, repair of the failed part is impossible and the part is replaced and cannibalization is allowed. The failure of a part is assumed to follow a Poisson process and the operational availability in CSP is defined. The solution procedure consists of two parts. Firstly, a heuristic algorithm is developed under the assumption that the failure rate is constant during the CSP period. Secondly, proposed is a simulation search procedure which improves the heuristic solution to the near optimal solution in a reasonable amount of time. An illustrative example is shown to explain the solution procedure.

  • To ensure competitiveness in the modern automotive market, material arrangements and information managements should be performed concurrently with new car developments. In automotive general assembly shops, thus, new business workflow and supporting environments are inevitable to reduce the manufacturing preparation time in developing a new car in the manner of concurrent and collaborative engineering. Since complete material arrangements for a whole general assembly system is a huge and complex job, several planners should execute their planning jobs and share information. Therefore, each planner should provide others with his/her results with continuous on-line communication and cooperation. Digital automotive general assembly factory is useful the performing concurrent and collaborative engineering and is essential for material arrangements and information managements systems. In this research, we constructed a sophisticated digital factory of an automotive general assembly shop by measuring and modeling through the parametric 3-D CAD, and a web-based system for concurrent and collaborative material arrangements for automotive general assembly via 3D mock-up is developed. By the digital general assembly shop and developed web-based system, savings in time and colt of manufacturing preparation activities are possible, and the reliability of the planning result Is greatly improved.

Development of a Rice Circulating Concurrent-flow Dryer(II) - Validation of Drying Simulation Model - (순환식 병류형 곡물건조기 개발(II) - 시뮬레이션모델의 검증 -)

  • This study was performed to develop a simulation model of circulating concurrent-flow rice dryer. The simulation model consists of drying model, tempering model and crack prediction model. The drying and tempering models were developed based on mathematical analysis, and the crack prediction model was developed by thin layer drying tests. Rice drying tests were done with three replications by use of a pilot scale dryer of holding capacity of 700 kg. Experimental values for moisture content, rice temperature, rice crack, and drying energy were compared with predicted values by simulation model. The RMSEs of predicted moisture contents were ranged from 0.5807% (d.b.) to 1.1951% (d.b.). and the coefficients of determination were 0.9688 to 0.9812. The RMSEs of predicted rice temperatures at the exit of the drying chamber were 1.83 to $3.81^{\circ}C$ and the coefficients of determination were 0.8834 to 0.9482. The results for moisture contents and rice temperatures showed very good relationships between predicted values and experimental values. The RMSEs of predicted value of crack ratio were 0.4082 to 0.7967% and the coefficients of determination were 0.8742 to 0.9547.

  • Concurrent Engineering is one of the methods which are used for the rapid product development. One of the important features in Concurrent Egineering is that the development process is to be parallel and the organization should be cross-functional. In order that the process be parallel and that the organization be cross-functional, an integrated information system such as PDM (Product Data Management) is required. Although the integrated data base is constructed, it could be meaningless if the application softwares were not inter-operable. This study shows an example of intergrated information system from three-dimensional product design to mold design and tooling for the development of Deflection Yoke(DY) which is one of the important parts of Cathode Ray Tube(CRT). A three-dimensional product design software, which is based on a commercial code, has been developed by ourselves. Selective Laser Sintering(SLS), which is one of the rapid prototyping techniques, has been used in this study. Mold design has been done by the three-dimensional way. A newly developed method of mold tooling, which is called Quick Die Manufacturing(QDM), has been introduced.

Shape control of cable structures considering concurrent/sequence control

  • In this study, the control of the shape of pre-stressed cable structures and the effective control element were examined. The process of deriving the displacement control equations using the force method was explained, and the concurrent control scheme (CCS) and the sequence control scheme (SCS) were proposed. To explain the control scheme process, the quadrilateral cable net model was adopted and classified into a regular model and an irregular model for the analysis of the control results. In the control analysis of the regular model, the CCS and SCS analysis results proved reliable. For the SCS, the errors occur in the control stage and varied according to the control sequence. In the control analysis of the irregular model, the CCS analysis result also proved relatively reliable, and the SCS analysis result with the correction of errors in each stage was found nearly consistent with the target shape after the control. Finally, to investigate an effective control element, the Geiger cable dome was adopted. A set of non-redundant elements was evaluated in the reduced row echelon form of a coefficient matrix of control equations. Important elements for shape control were also evaluated using overlapping elements in the element sets, which were selected based on cable adjustments.
