  • The purpose of this report is to investigate and analyze development and achievement of flowing and high-strength concrete by reacy mixed concrete companies in Korea. For this purpose, the investigation was divided into three parts, i.e., superplasticizers, flowing concrete, high-strength concrete. And, they were asked to quality control manager in ready mixed concrete companies. Many researches have been carried out. And, flowing concrete is applied to field in a few case. In order to improve practical applicability of high-strength concrete and make concrete strength higher, to begin with, profound research for concrete ingredients will be needed along with presentation of methods for obtaining workability and quality assurance.

  • Recently, interest grew on the quality of aggregates following the diminution of primary resources from river and the growing construction demand which exhausted high-quality sand sources around large cities and incited the use of low grade aggregates like shore sand and sea sand that can be supplied in natural state. Moreover, the most sensitive aspect highlighted by the unstability of aggregate supply is the quality. The extreme insufficiency of quality criteria about the materials currently used as substitute aggregates and about concrete mixed with such materials is also critical. This study investigated influence of qualities of concrete which is using mixed crushed sand and natural sand

  • Recently there have been media reports of some domestic FA refinement factories that omit the refinement process and ship raw material directly, for production time and cost reduction purposes, resulting in a negative effect on concrete quality. Accordingly, it's expected to have a negative effect on concrete quality. So this study seeks to clarify the impact that FA quality has on concrete's engineering characteristics, using various FA from refined FA being circulated in the nation to reject ash discarded during the refinement process. The results showed that when FA is used, liquidity is enhanced than when only OPC is used in the combination, and when refined FA is used air quantity and intensity increases as well.

  • All concrete structure in agricultural improvement project must satisfied durability, serviceability, safety. It is important for structure that satisfied these natures to good quality at design and construction step, and must continuous maintenance. Most of the concrete structures is construct at winter season, is contacted with water, has various type and sporadic in wide area. The objective of this study is to make the Concrete-Quality-Control diagram for agricultural infrastructure project using GIS. And, analyze the diagram with external factor(terrain, stream, economic etc.) to know the factor of concrete quality control.

  • Concrete surface grinding is required for flatness and adhesiveness of concrete surface. The procedure is, however, labor intensive and has a hazardous work condition. Also, the productivity and the quality of concrete surface grinding depend on the levels of worker. Thus, the development of remote controlled concrete surface grinding equipment is necessary to prevent the environmental pollution and to protect the workers from hazardous work condition. However, it is difficult to evaluate the grinded surface objectively in a remote controlled system. The machine vision system developed in this study takes the images of grinded surface with the network camera for image processing. Then, by representing the quality test results to the graphic MMI program of the remote control station, the quality control system is constructed. The machine vision algorithm means the image processing algorithm of grinded concrete surface and this paper presents the objective quality control standard of grinded concrete surface through the application of the suggested algorithm.

  • Primarily, to evaluate the structural condition assessment of concrete structures, percentile strength of concrete in concrete structures should be found out. This study aims to establish the evaluation techniques for concrete strength in existing concrete structures considering the concrete quality and reliability. The results are as follows ; 1. Percentile strength of concrete in concrete structures can be estimated from following strength equation. $$f_p=f_{mea} - {\lambda}_pS_s$$2. For the calibration of above percentile strength equation with proposed codes or specifications, following sample size based on ASTM E122 can be applied.

  • Foamed concrete for cast-in-site, which shows excellent lightweight, thermal insulation, noise insulation, constructability and cost efficiency, has been applied as thermal insulation or filling material for On-dol. However, the technology is too insufficient to obtain the high level of quality, and serious problems often occur in quality control at sites. It, thus, is necessary to establish the proper and reasonable quality control method for ensuring the required quality, based on the investigation on the physical properties and their reciprocal relation. This study aims to settle the quality control method in case of applying FA foamed concrete replacing 40% by weight with fly-ash as the filling material for On-dol. The results of the study include the correlation among flow, as-placed density and foam ratio of fresh foamed concrete, the correlation between physical properties before hardening and after 28-day, provision of an equation to estimate 28-day compressive strength early with 7-day compressive strength, and suggestion of quality criteria for the revision of KS on foamed concrete for cast-in-site.

  • The quality of the surface layer in concrete structures plays an important role in the durability of the concrete. The concrete factory products are made as they improve the appearance of the surface and compressive strength in need. A common criterion to judge the quality of concrete products frequently seen in our daily life appears to be "beauty" in terms of consistent shaping. However, as for most concrete curb in such areas where a large amount of anti-freezing agents(NaCl) and ice and snow melting agents(CaCl2) are spread over roads to ensure road safety during the winter season, since deterioration advances from the surface, scaling is seen on the surface concrete due to deterioration which combined freezing damage and salt damage. Especially, In cold northern districts, the spreading amount of deicing salts increases by regulation of studded tire use, and the scaling of the concrete products, the various parts of concrete structures for roads is increasing in recent years. In this study, L-shape concrete curb were targeted, the permeable form method with the commercial permeable sheet was applied to it and the improvements of the quality were examined. By the permeable form method, surface layers got strengthened, which prevented permeation of the deterioration factor from the outside, and the scaling resistance of the upper surface where the permeable sheet was applied improved exceedingly. It will be expected by applying the permeable form method to various concrete products that frost resistance improves and scaling damage decreases.

  • This study is a basic experiment on quality management of the compression strength of high strength concrete, aiming. at quality management of high strength mass concrete by giving the temperature hysteresis of the mass test pieces to managerial test pieces. Different from ordinary concrete, high strength concrete generally shows the temperature high rising caused by hydration heat inside the concrete. It is known that, in mass concrete, thermal stress occurs due to the difference in temperature between the inside and the outside, which causes a significant difference in compression strength between structure beams and managerial test pieces. It is also reported that there is a large difference between the compression strength of cylindrical managerial test pieces of standard underwater curing and the strength of structure beam concrete. Thus, this study made concrete test pieces in an optimal mix ratio for each strength level, and also created thermal insulation curing box and managerial test pieces. Then it carried out comparative analysis in relation to core strength and suggested equipment and a technique that can control the strength of high strength concrete mass more conveniently and accurately.

  • In this thesis presents the application to the field of Hwangto-used concrete highlighted as an eco-friendly material and performs an experiment in the aspect of construction and quality on the construction for all parts of buildings, rather than for some parts of buildings as shown from existing application and got the conclusion as followings. 1) It was turned out that Hwangto concrete showed lower hydrated heat and arid contraction comparing to those of cement concrete. And this phenomenon is judged to appear high when applied to mass building and huge span structures. 2) The construction of Hwangto concrete is judged to be possible in applying to constructions since the mechanical construction seems to be possible by using pump car and ready-mixed concrete which are used at the practical sites at the moment. 3) The pockmarks appearing on the exposure surface were about 2% of total area. This has great cohesion by Hwangto concrete but is judged that it will be improved through enough vibration stamping. Through the experiments of quality and construction of Hwangto concrete as environment-friendly construction materials, it is possible to judge modernized application of Hwangto concrete. It is in need of more studies about economical efficiency, structural stability, design application, etc. afterwards.
