There have been always some difficulties in target setting and conditioning of acoustic performances of the Korean traditional music hall due mainly to the lack of the information on the sound radiation characteristics of Korean musical sources. In this study, the radiation characteristics of four typical Korean traditional musical sources were investigated in precision and their usage was demonstrated: The selected musical sources were Gayageum (string), Daegeum (woodwind), Jango (drum), and Pansori Chang (vocal performance). Each sound source was located at the center of a semi-anechoic chamber and the directivity was determined by the measured sound pressure levels in every 10° angular position, for both vertical and horizontal directions. The directivity pattern of Gayageum varies from a uniform to a complex pattern having many side lobes with the increase of frequency. The main radiation of Daegeum is toward the upward direction. The directivity pattern of Jango is clearly a side-oriented one and the left direction intensity is sharper than its right side at low frequencies. For the Chang, the directivity pattern change from a uniform pattern to a frontally directed one as the frequency goes high. Measured directional and spectral characteristics of traditional Korean music sources were implemented into the computation of architectural acoustic measures for the Busan National Korean Traditional Music Hall which is under construction. Parameters such as RT, SPL, C80, IE, STI were calculated at two receiver positions by using a ray tracing technique. Significant differences in the acoustic measures at receiver positions were observed between the results in using the omni-directional source and the directional one. It is thought that the suggested source data and design method can be used as a basic reference in the future acoustic design of performance halls for the Korean traditional music.

With the advent of sound field simulator, many sound fields have been reproduced by obtaining the impulse responses of specific acoustic spaces like famous concert hall, opera house. This sound field reproduction has been done by the linear convolution operation between the sound input signal and the impulse response of certain acoustic space. However, the conventional finite impulse response based linear convolution operation always makes real-time implementation of sound field generator impossible due to the large amount of computational burden. This paper introduces the fast convolution method using perceptual redundancy in the processed signals, input audio signal and room impulse response. Temporal and spectral psycho-acoustic filters considering masking effects are implemented in the proposed convolution structure. It reduces the computational burden of convolution methods for realtime implementation of a sound field generator. The conventional convolutions are compared with the proposed one in views of computational burden and sound quality. In the proposed method, a considerable reduction in the computational burden was realized with acceptable changes in sound quality.
In this paper, we proposes an idea for improved sound characteristic which decreasing a problem in previous reverberation algorism structure. To later reflection sound, proposed new reverberation structure, using a lopped and nested all-pass delay line, and it is designed to improve an natural concert hall sound. In addition, In order to have best imaginary sound effect, we extracted the factors by controlling each delay line's delay time, and we realized a proposed new algorithm by using general-purpose DSP. Through several experimental cases, we observed better effect on improvement of linear flatten and reverberation density and decreasing about colorlessness and non-linear sound at previous proposed model about impulse input.
Applying Visual Art to pop music performance is gradually increasing. A video editor which simply mixes a number of images was mainly used in the past, but now various computer software make it easy to control visual art by development of computer technology, and it became possible for you to express unique and inimitable idea as well. Compare that a complicated equipment which makes them spend much expense and time was only used in the big size of concert hall in early days, a small and simple one now helps you easily apply your idea to Visual art in Pop music performance even in the small club. The technic of Visual art is being developed gradually especially by using computer The point of this study is how to apply real-time interaction between sound and visual image to interactive media art.

Wave field synthesis (WFS) has been gathering more and more attention recently due to its ability to perfectly reproduce an original sound field. However, to realize theoretically perfect WFS, a four-sided loudspeaker array that encloses the listener is required. However, it is difficult to build such a system except in large listening spaces, such as a theater or concert hall. In other words, if the listening space is a home, installing a side loudspeaker array is impractical. If the two side walls located to the left and right of the listener can be omitted, a setup using only front and rear loudspeaker arrays may be a solution. In this letter, we present a subjective listening experiment of sound localization/distance based on a WFS using a front and rear loudspeaker array system which is conducted on two listening points and shows average localization errors of $6.1^{\circ}$ and $9.18^{\circ}$, while the average distance errors are -27% (0.5 m) and -29% (0.6 m), respectively.
Every year, many people are severely injured or lose their lives in accidents such as fire, chemical spill, public pandemonium, school shooting, and workplace violence. Research indicates that the fate of people in an emergency situation involving one or more hazards depends not only on the design of the space (e.g., residential building, industrial facility, shopping mall, sports stadium, school, concert hall) in which the incident occurs, but also on a host of other factors including but not limited to (a) occupants' characteristics, (b) level of familiarity with and cognition of the surroundings, and (c) effectiveness of hazard intervention systems. In this paper, we present EVAQ, a simulation framework for modeling large crowd evacuation by taking into account occupants' behaviors and interactions during an emergency. In particular, human's personal (i.e., age, gender, disability) and interpersonal (i.e., group behavior and interactions) attributes are parameterized in a hazard-impacted environment. In addition, different hazard types (e.g., fire, lone wolf attacker) and propagation patterns, as well as intervention schemes (simulating building repellent systems, firefighters, law enforcement) are modeled. Next, the application of EVAQ to crowd egress planning in an airport terminal under human attack, and a shopping mall in fire emergency are presented and results are discussed. Finally, a validation test is performed using real world data from a past building fire incident to assess the reliability and integrity of EVAQ in comparison with existing evacuation modeling tools.
Currently, Korea shares culture, economy, and society together as a member of the international community along with rapid economic growth. In particular, in the 2000s, the construction of local cultural performance halls has been promoted through efforts and methods for the development of local culture. As a result, many local governments built medium-sized or larger performance halls, and achieved both quantitative and qualitative effects by satisfying citizens and attracting visitors. However, this study aims to analyze the safety of the space used by many visitors at the same time and whether an effective evacuation plan is applied to frequent disasters and disaster situations in recent years.
The characteristics of performing arts differ from those of utilitarian goods in terms of economics. Factors other than price need to be considered to understand the demand for performing arts. Audience surveys as well as econometric demand studies have confirmed that socio-economic factors such as age, income, employment, and education are major determinants of the demand for performing arts. This study focused on the attributes of concerts rather than consumer characteristics to determine the concerts audiences select in terms of transaction cost. Genre, price, internet search trends, and the purpose of performance as well as price are tested as determinants of demand by using the data set for a major concert hall in Seoul. Genre and the specific purpose of concerts influence the demand for concerts. Internet search trends of the performer are used as indicators of popularity and information exposure, which are positively correlated with demand. This result supports the hypothesis that larger audiences would attend concerts that require lower information search costs. To note, price has a positive effect on demand in the higher price range, which means that concerts at higher prices attract larger audiences, whereas normal goods have a negative slope in the demand curve. This result can be explained by the hypothesis that consumers use price as an indicator of the quality expected of a concert. Transaction cost for selecting classical concerts thus forms an inverse-U shape curve against ticket price. These results provide some explanation of why audiences of classical music choose to attend concerts at high ticket prices while offering evidence in favor of the hypothesis that performing arts are selected in a social context.
The XI World Congress on fertility and sterility was held during 26th June-2nd July 1983, in Dublin, Ireland. The general view and impression of the congress are as follows. Scientific Programme 1.
